Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the former president of Quantitative Business Analytics, a company that I sold to eSource. I’m now the executive VP of digital technologies at eSource.

What challenge were you trying to address with Sujosu Technology?

We needed comprehensive technology, software, and analytics development services.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Sujosu Technology provides technology, software, and analytics development services for the full life cycle of our projects. They work across several platforms, including Google, Amazon, and Microsoft. We've done several projects together, the latest one involving building a custom software solution from scratch.

For example, they’ve built a handheld solution for a client that needed to develop a field operational system. They wanted it to run on Microsoft’s .NET MAUI platform, which needed to be ported to iOS and Android. Sujosu Technology figured out all of that technology.

On another project, we collect data from a solar manufacturing company, organize it, anonymize it, and sell it to the utility industry. We do all that using Amazon’s technical toolset. Sujosu Technology has worked with me to develop and test the solution and work with the client.

Additionally, we have to provision the data to the utility every five minutes, and Sujosu Technology provides operational support and maintenance services. In fact, they provide all the technical services relevant to the solar solution we built together.

They’ve also worked on developing some analytical capabilities using Python and all of Amazon’s tools and Google apps. We’ve used a product called QuickSight with Amazon and some of Google's analytical tools. We’ve also ported a company’s SAS reporting skills to Python.

What is the team composition?

For the large .NET MAUI project, we have 16–20 people on the project team, including project managers, architects, developers, designers, software developers, and testers. For most of my projects, I need 4–5 people on the team to successfully deliver the project.

How did you come to work with Sujosu Technology?

We worked together at IBM for many years. When I started my own company, I needed technology, analytical, and software testing assistance for several projects I had all over the United States. I immediately thought of Gopal (CEO).

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested between $2 million–$4 million.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in September 2015, and the relationship is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

A client who hired us to do the Microsoft Azure development project using Microsoft .NET MAUI has told us that they’ve started many projects since then, but the project that Sujosu Technology and I worked on together is the only one that was successful.

The clients that utilize our AWS solution are very pleased with the work that Sujosu Technology and eSource have done. It’s vital to their industry forecasting process. Overall, customer satisfaction is very high on all the projects that Sujosu Technology has worked on.

How did Sujosu Technology perform from a project management standpoint?

We use Jira, Asana, Trello, and GitHub. We also use Microsoft Teams and Google Meet. Sujosu Technology always meets deadlines and stays on budget; that's part of my calling card with them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Sujosu Technology always delivers. If they make a commitment, they honor it and always deliver high-quality work on time and on budget. Their team has a good technical tool set. I have a high regard for them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We can always improve communication because of the nature of the global world we live in. It’s not that they’re a problem; Sujosu Technology iss better than any provider I’ve ever worked with where there’s a nine-hour difference. It’s always a challenge, so it’s something we always have to work on as an industry.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Communicate, communicate, and communicate some more. Sujosu Technology is very good, but sometimes people get lazy because they’re so good that they take them for granted, and you can’t do that.

• Utilize a standard Application Programming Interface (API) to automate the data transfer from the Supplier Clearing House to the Supplier Diversity Subcontracting Portal. This will improve data quality, expedite month-end reporting, and increase operational efficiency across all Supplier Diversity activities.
• Incorporate an automated data feed to the new Data Foundation through a standard Application Programming Interface (API) to guarantee the accuracy and promptness of data.
