All parts of the test showed flaws in their security posture with critical flaws being found by our consultant in their website and smart contract. After the testing, we walked them through the report and recommendations, with a little extra guidance along the way they were able to remediate all high-risk issues and still (just!) launch on time. As a result of this security testing, the customer is aware of security best practices they didn't know about before and are now operating successfully in production.   ### Web3 Checkout Web Application Penetration Test A leading fiat to web3 onboarding company requested security testing for their new checkout process. The application was brand new and ready to go live except it also has a very high risk if it gets exploited, due to this it was important they could get absolute assurance that they wouldn't have a breach. Every part of the application was tested, from the web application and its infrastructure to the web3 integration. No severe vulnerabilities were present but a number of moderate risk vulnerabilities that would do significant damage in the hands of a threat actor were identified. Stratus worked with the client to remediate the vulnerabilities quickly to ensure a smooth and secure launch   ### Internal Network Penetration Test A medium finance business required a yearly internal network penetration test for PCI compliance. During testing, Stratus identified significant risks in their internal network leading to a number of full domain compromises, one of which is completely covert and simple to exploit in the case of a single user compromise. During the same test, Stratus was able to externally compromise a corporate user using leaked credentials to demonstrate the full risk posed. After delivering a comprehensive report to the client and working with them on remediations, they were able to mitigate all the identified risks and significantly strengthen their corporate network. ### Web Application Penetration Test A leading white label exchange needed penetration testing on their product to pass third-party review requirements before launching. Stratus was engaged to perform the testing due to our penetration testers with vast backgrounds in the finance and exchange industries. During the testing we found a large number of vulnerabilities, including an access control bypass to retrieve personally identifiable information such as licenses and passports for all users. Before launch Stratus worked with this company to help remediate the issues and they are currently preparing for launch. ### Incident Response Stratus was engaged by a finance regulator after our threat intellegence team notified them of a very high risk vulnerability in their public infrastructure. We provided advice and helped them triage the incident to ensure no further access to their environment was achieved. It was identified that the vulnerability was exploited a number of times but due to a defense in depth measure on the internal network it was contained until it was able to be patched. ### Web Application Penetration Test A medical company engaged Stratus to review an application deployed for them by a third party. Stratus identified unknown assets used in the application with critical vulnerabilities that could have led to a large data breach despite a pre-existing bug bounty program and regular penetration testing with other companies in the past.
