Moreover, they made a list of tools that we needed to use to become more successful in our campaigns while working toward a unified and professional-looking social media presence.

Our group found Socialistics through Google. We were looking for social media companies, and they were the first team that popped up. They didn’t normally work with small businesses like ours — they mainly dealt with real estate and bigger businesses — but they were willing to take us on, so we engaged with them.

Our engagement lasted from January–June 2022.

Our website had greater traffic, and our sales increased. 

How did Socialistics perform from a project management standpoint?

Socialistics performed amazingly well. In terms of tools, we used Planable for a little while and then switched to another app. They had access to our Instagram account, and they did most things through the platform. To communicate, we used Zoom calls. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their professionalism and straightforward communication were impressive. They never led us on to get our business; the team was upfront about anything we’d asked, and we appreciated that. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there weren’t any. They were amazing.

Be open about your hopes and dreams for your business. If you’re upfront with them, Socialistics will make everything happen for you. Be transparent with them, and they’ll go above and beyond to do everything for you.

Burwood Group is a national IT Consulting firm. While I wear many hats, I'm the digital campaign manager mostly.

This was our first outsourced social media partner and took our time finding the right agency. Through online research, reviews, and interviews we selected Socialistics.

We work together to identify our target audiences, specific hashtags, and the type of content that resonates with the target audience. They create posts, videos, etc. based on content recommendations that we have each month. They also recommend adjustments and content topics that are relevant.

We work closely with our account manager and the Director of Client Services. They are amazing!

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our followers on two key social channels have increased since bringing them on board and we've been able to create a consistent brand message.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We have a well-established communication system through email, regular calls, and our social media management platform. There are always small things that you can't plan for and they are great at creating timely posts with very little heads up.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They are responsive, collaborative, and well-informed on market norms, trends, and strategies.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not really.

I am the president of Kolbe Gallery. We supply and install custom windows and doors for luxury homes, residential projects, commercial storefronts, and historic restorations. We have a location in Vancouver, BC, and in Seattle, Washington.

What challenge were you trying to address with Socialistics?

We wanted to increase our brand awareness and connect with people through different online channels. We also wanted to tell the story of what our business does day to day and really demonstrate our services by sharing share some of the photographs and videos of our work.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Socialistics came up with a monthly strategy for our Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn pages. They created posts through those different media outlets using captioned photos and videos. They also updated our stories on a daily basis. 

We relied on their team to engage with customers on social media. They replied to any questions and comments that were left in our posts.

We worked closely with an account manager.

We found them by searching on Google.

We paid $3,500 per month.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project ran from March 2021–February 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It’s hard for us to quantify the sales that resulted from Socialistics’ strategy since we don’t do quick online sales. Our transactions and projects typically take around 1–2 years. 

However, we definitely saw our online engagement gradually increase per month while we were working with them. The outcome was positive, as that was mainly our objective in hiring them. Our salespeople can now refer prospective customers to our Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn pages to show them our work.

How did Socialistics perform from a project management standpoint?

Socialistics performed well in terms of project management. They met all deadlines and stayed on track when it came to the budget. Although we encountered some challenges with them changing our account manager three times, we enjoyed their highly organized processes and found it easy to work with their team.

We shared our media and content via Google Drive and provided our business information through their portal. We also communicated via WhatsApp, phone calls, and emails.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have a well-managed system in place for sharing content, and their creatives were friendly and easy to work with.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only real challenge we ever had was with the transition of account managers. There was always a learning curve for the next person that was taking over, as we had to teach the language all over again since we don’t expect them to become experts on our product right away. We also occasionally saw posts that were beautiful but didn’t have any of our products in the photo, so we had to really review their content. 

It seemed like we would get to a certain distance with an account manager, and then they would switch them out. As a business owner, I understand that people come and go or just need to take some time off; but it created a little bit of a challenge for us. Overall, though, I would say that they did very well.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Set aside time to work with their team on a steady basis. Educate them on your products and allow them to get to know your business.

I'm the founder and managing partner of ERTC, LLC. We prepare Employee Retention Tax Credit filings for small businesses.

We searched for a few national and local companies. Overall, Socialistics had very affordable pricing and was by far the more advanced offerings from what we could find.

The processes that Socialistics utilize are very thorough and streamlined. I think the most impressive piece of working with them is their staff. From the beginning while we were working on discovery to setting up their online platform for social media review and approval to having regular check-ins, the entire group has been responsive, intelligent, and a pleasure to work with.

Typically we worked with 3 main people. One was our normal point of contact where questions could be posed and answered, typically within a very short timeframe. There was also a manager of the account and the owner was available for more in depth questions as those popped up.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We've gone from having very little presence on social media platforms to having some very high qualify ongoing posts that are well managed. I feel this was pivotal for us being able to approach and secure our first paid influencers.

Very effective. They utilize an online platform that, with a little direction, I was able to go online and review and approve all posts.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The people...they have a great team to work with. I wish all companies would be this responsive and adaptive.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not really, we're currently working on expanding the services that Socialistics are completing as they've shown the ability and aptitude to take on what past firms weren't able to succeed at. We're very excited to see the results of these new campaigns.

Our company wanted to partner up with a social media marketing agency that could help our e-commerce clients grow on these channels. We don't offer this type of service, so we looked for a reliable and professional partner who could help our US-based e-commerce clients.

We reached out to 5 social media marketing agencies and we liked the approach of Socialistics from the beginning. We had a few meetings with the founder, Jason, and as the founder of our agency, I was also personally impressed by their approach to digital marketing.

They've helped our ecommerce clients with consistent and story-based Instagram and Facebook content. Also, their paid strategist has determined which ads our clients were going to run on Facebook. They've provided them help on what landing pages to use for promotional events.

We've worked with Jason (owner and founder) who usually oversees the whole process. We've also worked with Candice (Social Media Marketing Manager) who's helped our clients write content and ad copy.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

One of our clients has achieved a 700%+ increase in page likes since they started working with them. These likes also convert into more website visitors and purchases in the end. They've been great at delivering results, and most of our clients would see an immediate increase in their sales right after working with them.

It's always been good and we're happy with their communication and delivery process.

We love the fact that Socialistics is specialized in social media marketing only. The way how they represent the values of their company is also exemplary.

I’m the HR specialist at Green Bay Converting, a contract paper converter. Our customers send us products, which we convert to toilet paper, paper towels, and so on. From there, we ship it back to them.

We were hoping to reach more people and get more job applications, so we needed someone to strengthen our social media presence. We also wanted more people to go to our website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Socialistics handles our social media accounts and paid advertising efforts on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. They create targeted posts and track their performance. Each piece of content they come up with first goes through an approval process before they go ahead and put it online. We also give them videos and photos to go along with the content. If needed, they also create graphics and videos. 

What is the team composition?

My main point of contact is Kayla (Account Manager), but I’ve also worked with Joanna (Director of Client Services), Heather (Paid Media Specialist), and Ashley (Director Of Business Development).

How did you come to work with Socialistics?

When we decided to outsource our social media needs, I researched a couple of companies and found Socialistics. Ashley gave a pitch via Zoom call. We considered other companies, but we decided to go with Socialistics because they were very responsive and seemed easy to work with. They were also a small team, and we felt like they would be more attentive than a bigger company.

We’ve spent $15,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project started in May 2021, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They genuinely care about what we want —  the team puts a lot of their energy and focus into working with us to fulfill our goals. They’ve done an excellent job of helping us stay active on social media. In terms of ads, our cost per engagement is very low, so we’re getting very good returns for the money we spend.

Our metrics improve with each month that we work with them. For example, our Facebook reach has gone up by 11%, and our engagement increased by 76%. We went from having a page likes count of below 600 to now having 759 likes. 

They’ve also done a fantastic job of redirecting people from our social media to our website. We’ve seen a boost in site traffic, and there’s been a dramatic increase in job applications made through our site. Overall, the project has been a success.

How did Socialistics perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management is great. We haven’t had any issues with them, and they’ve done everything that we ask for. In terms of communication, they’re very responsive. We exchange emails with Kayla almost daily. Every month, we also have a Zoom meeting where they give us a monthly performance review. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Socialistics is very committed to providing personalized work — they care about whether or not we’re getting results and are willing to work directly with us. They’re a small team of friendly people who are easy to work with. We get along with each other well, and we feel we can talk to them and bring up any problems we may have. The Socialistics team never gets upset by our feedback and is more than happy to try other strategies. They’re just a great company, and we’re very satisfied with them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s nothing we would have them change — we’re delighted with their services. They’ve been pretty responsive to our needs.

Reach out and ask them for a proposal. You won’t be disappointed with their service.

I’m chairman of the board for BCI and acting VP of a subsidiary called BCI Global. BCI works on behalf of agricultural, food, and beverage companies around the world. We work on international trade issues and provide companies with regulatory compliance services and databases.

What challenge were you trying to address with Socialistics?

We needed to find a company that could help us with marketing. The challenge was marketing a technical product to a specific audience.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Socialistic helped us create a targeted program that’s consistent with our brand. Earlier in the engagement, we wanted to increase awareness of a particular database among a targeted group. Socialistics created a program that involved the use of LinkedIn and targeted email lists. As a result of that campaign's success, we retained Socialistics to work on a number of projects. They helped create a 2021 marketing plan that has four specific objectives. Their team’s using email and social media for campaigns and works with our sales team on direct contact materials.

What is the team composition?

We work with three people from Socialistics' team, including Jason (Chief Social Officer). He also brought an independent PR contractor into the project who directly reports to me.

How did you come to work with Socialistics?

We sought a firm that was not focused on broad-based general consumer campaigns. We researched firms that would be able to raise our profile with print media, digital media, and one-on-one communications. We narrowed our options to five companies, invited proposals from them, and then interviewed 3–4 firms. At the end of that process, we decided to reevaluate our direction. Jason kept in touch with us. As we began to change our minds, he had ideas for how we could move in a new direction.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve probably spent less than $50,000 at this point.

What is the status of this engagement?

We hired them around January 2020, and it’s an ongoing engagement.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Their targeted program reached our audience and provided them with information via LinkedIn and direct communications. We had roughly 60% engage with us in the first round. That number decreased with further rounds of communication. However, we had 10%–15% of that audience seriously engage with us as a result of that campaign.

We’re more interested in thoughtful engagement than sales. We’re satisfied with the outcomes thus far. We learned a lot throughout this year as certain initiatives were more successful than others. We’ll build on those as well as try new ideas.

How did Socialistics perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicate via phone and email. Jason is excellent with communication. He replies right away. If I don’t provide him with the materials as promised, he politely reminds me, which keeps us on track.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Jason listens, and he’s responsive. Socialistics is open to suggestions on how we might need to change. They’re not resistant to altering plans as a project evolves, which I appreciate.

No, they’ve done what we’ve asked them to do.

Be clear with your expectations and how you’ll measure the success of the project. Listen to their ideas for how to achieve your goals.

I’m currently a project manager at Health Supply US. We’re a wholesaler of personal protective equipment and other medical supplies.

What challenge were you trying to address with Socialistics?

We wanted to build a presence on social media. The company is only about a year old, and we didn’t have a social media presence or outward-facing persona.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Socialistics crafted our social media presence, posts, and tone. We occasionally provided them with suggestions that they turned into social media posts that we reviewed on a monthly basis. They challenged us to create answers to questions for the LinkedIn direct outreach campaign, and their team also began working on advertising for us.  

What is the team composition?

We worked with about six people from Socialistics.

How did you come to work with Socialistics?

I spent about a month researching different social media agencies, introducing our company, and assessing the different agencies' willingness to work with us. Socialistics came back with the most enthusiastic response. They understood the project was a challenge because our company sells PPE and didn’t have existing materials. However, their team wanted to help us craft our voice and work hard.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent approximately $12,000 on their services.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started the engagement in November 2020 and terminated it in January 2021 due to internal challenges. We were disorganized and weren’t in a position to invest in social media.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We grew the number of likes on our posts and increased our followers. We only worked with them for a couple of months. During those months, however, we got better feedback on our social media posts. Prior to our partnership, we cobbled together whatever we could post.

Socialistics struck the right tone in their posts. They managed to make us sound more interesting than we could make ourselves sound. We also appreciated that their team could roll with the punches. We had a lot of people who had different ideas about what our social media accounts should do. Their team challenged us to think about the organization and our target audience, and that was helpful for us as an organization.

How did Socialistics perform from a project management standpoint?

Socialistics gave us a lot of attention and never complained about it. We frequently changed our minds, and they were able to revamp our social media posts and make changes. Their team always rose to the challenge, and it was never hard to reach them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their team was willing to meet us halfway and guide us through the process of crafting our voice. They made the project easy even though managing social media at their level is a lot of work.

No, the problems were on our end.

Know yourself before engaging Socialistics. Know what your company needs and wants because they need that information to launch your online persona. You need to have your house in order to optimize an engagement’s results.

The Ranch Film Studios has over 22,000 square feet of stage and production office space. My role there is CMO.

What challenge were you trying to address with Socialistics?

We opened a film marketing company inside The Ranch called The Arsonist. I was in need of social media partners to establish targets and clear parameters in order to build an audience for independent films. When someone makes an independent film and doesn’t get picked up for distribution, my company helps them get the word out and build an audience-following. The Arsonist helps people set their films ablaze.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Socialistics has been a huge partner in shaping both my organic and paid advertising and helping me develop a plan and strategy. They’re managing two campaigns for me right now, for two separate films. I’ve also brought them on to work on an existing website that I’ve revamped.

What is the team composition?

I’ve worked with four of their people, including their paid advertising strategist — who does media buying for social media — their organic social media strategist, and their CEO.

How did you come to work with Socialistics?

I found them on Clutch. I liked that the reviews on Clutch list the points of emphasis for each company clearly — that helped my search a lot. I was looking for people that focused more on social media than other aspects of marketing.

How much have you invested with them?

I’ve invested $18,000–$20,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Socialistics in late-June or early-July 2020, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Socialistics had to take a film with no social following and bring it to the next level. I find that their planning, creative packaging, and execution skills are excellent. They use tools that I can easily access to help my campaigns along.

On one of the campaigns, they’ve led me to almost one million reached to date. A lot of that is them driving people to not just look at our ads and trailers, but to go to a website and actually view the movie. We’ve had tremendous success with landing page views just because of their ad placement and ability to hone in the target.

How did Socialistics perform from a project management standpoint?

They don’t miss a beat. I’ve worked as brand manager and creative director for a large apparel company, and it’s rare to find companies with such strong communication skills. I feel like Socialistics is top-notch in understanding the need to communicate. Jason (Principal Owner & CEO) comes out of a corporate background. He’s extremely efficient in making sure communications are quickly answered and that my problems are quickly solved. In fact, the overall company culture is one of exemplary customer service. They set up a lot of the organic side on Planable, which is a great way to review creative.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I appreciate having access to and working with their leadership. I wasn’t skilled in some of the things we were doing, and they were really good teachers and patient in explaining processes and outlining the path we were going to take. Those are very important qualities. They didn’t just want my money; they were really concerned about my campaign being a strong success.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I deal with a lot of companies, and I rarely say this, but I think Socialistics has been above excellent. I’m probably a great advertisement for them because I can be really tough and tend to hold strong standards of excellence, and they’ve just checked all the boxes. Socialistics is good at communicating, follow-through, and execution, and they’ve guided me from a tutorial standpoint on how to make my campaign more successful.  

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

As with any company, we have to have a clear eye toward the target, and Socialistics is really helpful in developing that plan. They can also handle a lot of the creative part, but we came to the table with a lot of content.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

We are a K¬–8 charter school in New York State. Charter schools are public schools open to anybody who applies. We are located on the west side of Buffalo, which is a very diverse, low-socioeconomic area. We have about 22 languages, and about 90% of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch.

We were founded nine years ago, and I’m one of the co-founders and the COO. In my former life, I was a CPA, and then I became an inner-city school teacher after about 14 years. It was a perfect fit for me to start a school and then handle all of the compliance, finance, facilities, and educational parts that it takes to start a school. 

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Socialistics?

Part of my role is to make sure that we have students in our seats, because that's what funds our school. Similar to a private school, enrollment drives our revenue. At a time like COVID, it was really hard to market the school when we couldn't be out there, especially in the pre-K and early childhood centers, which is the bulk of our year-over-year recruitment effort. If you don't get in in kindergarten, your chances of getting in the school are slim to none; obviously, kindergarten rolls up to first, and all the way up through eighth, until we graduate those students. While there are a few intermittent spots along the way because of transiency, you really have to get in in kindergarten. 

We didn't see our kindergarten application rate to be the same as in previous years, and we were getting nervous. We connected with Socialistics as a way to drive our online marketing and presence, because that was really the only way we were going to see people. We had a website and were posting on Facebook, but we knew we weren't optimizing our efforts. Because we're a K–8 charter, our parents are pretty young, as is our staff. We realized that parents weren't going to read brochures, direct mailers, and other materials we were spending money on in the past.

Once we created a Facebook page, that's what drove all of our informational content. When we needed to share information or updates with parents, we had much more success through Facebook than our website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We primarily worked with Socialistics on Facebook Ads. They did targeted advertising for households of 4¬–5-years, not necessarily older ones. I didn’t want to put a huge effort into overall marketing because it was such a targeted audience. They were able to take what we were already doing and get us more bang for our buck. They targeted the audience more and boosted certain things. 

What I needed immediately was access to an online application, which we hadn’t had before. They were able to build that into our website and then drive traffic to the website to fill out the application online. The online application was definitely worth it. We used to like having people actually come into the school to fill out the application so that we could know they were invested; we didn’t want a whole bunch of applications from people that weren’t that interested. With COVID, we had to bring our application online. It resulted in a lot more applications.

One of the other things they did was optimize and showcase our success with remote learning. Schools closed in our area on a Friday, and we anticipated that happening; the following Monday, our teachers and students were already up and running on remote learning, while a lot of the schools in the district — our competition — didn’t have a plan. We wanted people to see what we were doing in a remote capacity compared to other schools, and Socialistics showed a lot of that.

Once the recruitment period was over and we filled our seats, we started working with them on a forward-thinking ad campaign. I wanted to create buzz about the school; I was tired of hearing people say that they’d never heard of the school, when we’re the fifth top-ranking school in all of Buffalo. Ideally, our next round of marketing will make it so that we don’t have to market in a few years because people will already know about the school, and our success will speak for itself. These targeted efforts tell our story and share all of the good news. Socialistics is creating content and targeting the time that the content goes out on Facebook and Instagram.

I primarily work with three people, including Ashley (Social Media Strategist), who is local, and Joanna (Paid Media Strategist), who sends me our reports and what we’re generating. Jason (Principal Owner & CEO) let me know what we could do with our budget and what we could expect. 

How did you come to work with Socialistics?

One of our parents actually works for Socialistics, so that’s how I found them. The parent consulted with us before she joined Socialistics. Having a daughter enrolled here, she was able to speak as not just an ad person or a social media content creator, but also as a parent. Her strong perspective of the school made me want to meet them, and then I decided to go with them after speaking with the owner.

How much have you invested with them?

For the first few months, we spent $3,000–$3,500 a month. Now that we’re overenrolled, it’s more about sustainability, so we’re spending about $2,500 a month. We’ll spend $25,000–$30,000 a year.

We started working with Socialistics in March 2020, and it’s ongoing. One contract ended, and we just started a new one with a new problem area for different types of marketing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I will happily say that we are fully enrolled; in fact, as of today, we are overenrolled. What I like is that it’s a customizable, casual partnership; they don’t just have to work with me. I wear a lot of hats and am super busy, and I can ask my leadership group to hop on a call with Ashley or Jason to go over what we’re looking to do. 

We were posting a lot that wasn’t being seen, or it wasn’t being sent at the right time. We were already connected to enrolled families, but we weren’t connecting to the audiences we needed to access. I definitely feel that we’re accessing them now. 

How did Socialistics perform from a project management standpoint?

We’re in a pretty unique industry, and Socialistics allowed me the time to tell them about our nuances, especially in the current times we’re living, to actually customize what they were doing for us. They have people who are very specialized, but they collaborate well. Their team calls us, lets us talk about what we need, and then internally figure out who the best person is to do what. I don’t know much about this industry, so it’s nice that I don’t have to be too involved. I can tell their services are working based on the applications and traffic we’re getting.  

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’d highlight their ability to listen to the specific and unique needs of the industry. Every industry is different, so the fact that they took the time was great. They had a lot of people on our first call so that they could ask good questions and let me really explain. I was able to tell them that their first couple of suggestions wouldn’t work for us, and it wasn’t combative or anything. I explained that I didn’t need the whole school advertised, and that we really wanted to target kindergarten. A couple of ad companies just didn’t get it, and I think it’s because they didn’t listen. Socialistics listened and figured out what worked best for us. I think they’re more customizable than some of the other places I’ve tried to work with.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. I just know that I’m getting the results that I expected to get — or better — from investing with Socialistics. 

Any advice for potential customers?

Take the time upfront to really make sure that there is a true understanding of your industry and what affects your industry, whether it’s timing, scheduling, age, demographics, etc. We were able to customize what worked for us. I think that taking the time upfront, being assertive about what we were looking for, and bringing in my team that had been doing some of the work added value to the partnership. They have fidelity to their products and procedures, and I appreciate that.
