I’m the co-founder and sales and operations manager of a window tinting company. We provide window tinting for various industries and purposes, including automotive, residential, commercial, and government facilities. Our products go from safety film to decorative film and film to keep heat out.

What challenge were you trying to address with SiteTuners?

Martin (President) had written a book about website optimization, and I also had done some research on the matter and realized that I had various things on my site that were outdated from when we had it created in 2007. Thus, we decided to update our site with newer technology and, hopefully, reduce my bounce rate.

What was the scope of their involvement?

SiteTuners has helped us update our website. Initially, they went through our website, and we discussed our business and what window tinting was. During this process, we also had 2–3 onboarding calls to discuss our market, our industry, and our competitors.

After the onboarding process, SiteTuners installed Hotjar to look at our site’s heat maps and see where people were spending their time. Then, they started making recommendations to help us rearrange its layout to put the information users were naturally gravitating towards front and center. They also recommended changes to various aspects of our website, such as the forms and the verbiage used.

Throughout this process, SiteTuners suggested a lot of changes to our site, but the web developer on our side was taking a lot of time implementing them. Thus, we ultimately got rid of the developer and tasked SiteTuners with the complete redevelopment of our website.

In addition to web development and design, SiteTuners has also helped us with SEO and ad spend optimization. Before SiteTuners’ involvement, we were spending money on Google Ads, but we weren’t sure what we were doing exactly. Therefore, they helped us target our audience better and created an advertising campaign for commercial window tinting.

I’ve worked with Martin; Eric (Director of Optimization), who used to manage our account; Clint (Conversion Analyst), who is responsible for our SEO; and Jeff (Senior Director of Optimization), who was in charge of our website’s redevelopment.

How did you come to work with SiteTuners?

I’m part of a fraternal organization where Martin is also a member. Although we didn’t talk about work in this place, we both knew what the other did professionally. Eventually, I asked him if he could take a look at our site and give me a few suggestions to improve it. The list of improvements he came up with was so extensive that I decided to hire SiteTuners to dive more in-depth and make the necessary changes.

We started working together around April 2020, and our engagement is ongoing; we pay a monthly retainer.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Although we thought we were doing well with our advertising before, SiteTuners has optimized our marketing spend by targeting our ads better. When they created the commercial window tinting campaign, we started getting more calls for larger commercial projects than we were in the past. Now, we revisit results during our monthly calls, and we’ve also seen an improvement in our cost-per-click rate; it keeps decreasing.

Additionally, SiteTuners made our site kinder and more conversational by changing the verbiage used. For example, our previous form lit up red when a user didn’t complete it correctly, which probably made them feel bad and not fill it out instead. Now, whenever a field is not completed or completed incorrectly, a friendly message asks them to provide the right information. Thanks to this, we’ve seen an increase in the number of form submissions.

A noticeable concrete achievement of SiteTuners’ work was claiming our brand name in the market. Someone was using our name as part of their advertising campaigns, so when people looked for our name, they were directed to our competition. Once we brought that to SiteTuners’ attention, they did something to claim the name, so our competitors are no longer allowed to use our brand name as a term for their advertising.

How did SiteTuners perform from a project management standpoint?

SiteTuners is very good at project management. We have a monthly team meeting, during which we review our Google Analytics live to see what’s happening with our ad spending. We’ve used Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and email for communication, and we use Calendly to set up the meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

SiteTuners is very responsive and fairly priced, and they do what they promise. Additionally, the fact that I know Martin personally makes them very trustworthy.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I really enjoy working with them. I have nothing but compliments for them.

Difrent Rental was preparing to re-platform from its initial content management system to a more flexible platform. We decided to update the look of our homepage at the same time, and engaged SiteTuners to assist. I looked at a number of conversion rate specialist firms in Australia, the UK and USA, and spoke with a shortlist via Zoom. Marty, the President of the company, made time available despite the significant overseas time difference (we are in Australia) and within minutes of beginning to speak with him I knew they were the partners for us.

Marty personally reviewed our website and provided us with detailed suggestions about elements we should consider updating to drive conversion rate. Following the completion of our re-platforming and our ongoing engagement with SiteTuners we had twice-monthly meetings via Zoom to discuss strategy, performance, findings and new conversion rate recommendations.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Following several months of work with SiteTuners our website looks nothing like it used to. From navigation, to product page layouts, to abandon cart communication processes every element of our website has improved from a usability perspective and is geared towards conversions. Overall, comparing our current conversion rate to our conversion rate for the 6 months prior to working with SiteTuners, conversion rate has improved by 18.5%

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Communication was always outstanding. Nearly all of our communication occurred in online meetings, following which SiteTuners provided notes and a summary of next steps. Additionally, if there was anything to discuss out of the scheduled meeting cycle the team were always quick and accommodating in reviewing and responding to emails.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

SiteTuners excel in being able to identify opportunities for conversion rate improvements and then being able to distill these into clear and concise recommendations, either verbally, in writing or in mock-ups as required. At no time did I ever feel that they were working from a pro-forma list of recommendations. Every suggestion they've provided was highly tailored to our needs, our product, and our resource capabilities.

Initial meeting was with owner of company, who walked us through some examples of how SiteTuners could support us. This grew into a full deck presentation of what SiteTuners would implement. This presentation closely represented what our vision was for the project.

The project has just ended. A/B testing has shown positive conversion rates.

Management style was organized and clear. Google Docs and video recordings were used throughout.

Their delivery was quite detailed. Video recordings of their internal discussions supplemented the slide decks in case our team wanted to see how they came to each decision.

Nothing that they could do differently. If we were to re-do this process, we would have invested an additional amount for their team to implement all changes themselves.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our web site workflow was substantially improved. Our number of signups through the web-site increased, while the number of calls for assistance signing up decreased. Customers clearly found the site easier to work through.

Workflow was very effective. All team members had clear expectations.

They were very practical, organized and able to execute on ideas. They were able to meet us on our level, and set and keep appropriate timelines.

Marty from SiteTuners did an audit of the client's e-commerce website and made a number of recommendations to improve and optimize the conversion rate and improve sales. Marty clearly explained the why and the how of each recommendation and did so in a way that made the client happy and excited about seeing improved results.

There were two audits 6 months apart and two 90 minute face-to-face (zoom) sessions with the client. Marty followed up with a video recording of the sessions and a series of back and forth emails to further clarify and support the client in their implementation efforts.

Yes, the clients conversion rate quickly doubled and they have been seeing the highest revenues in the 20+ history of the company. They have embrace their e-commerce site as an important channel of business rather than relying strictly on brick and mortar, enabling them to better compete in on online world. Further, their SEO, social and advertising dollars designed to drive traffic to their website is generating far better returns asa result of their increased conversion rate from all channels.

We all sincerely appreciated Marty's professionalism, humor, and authentic desire to help and support our client in navigating through a confusing and complex environment of online sales.

That his recommendations were all based on a significant amount of experience and consumer behaviour testing, and the time he took to explain not-only the how but the WHY behind each recommendation based on consumer behaviour.

Since partnering with SiteTuners, we’ve seen a 200% growth in conversion. The team is really good at conversion rate optimization, because we’ve been getting high-quality leads instead of meaningless traffic.

Once the wireframes were approved by our team they created the visual designs. After approving the designs, they then built out the website.

While I know there were at least 4 people involved, the main person was one of their Directors of Optimization. He was supported by designers and developers.

Right after the website went live, the number of visitors to our in-person services doubled. This is unheard of in a church. Further, our donations, both online and in-person also doubled. Again, this is also unheard of. Needless to say we are thrilled. And since it went live, our membership continues to grow.

Top shelf. Forgive the bar humor. All kidding aside, I placed myself in their hands and they guided me throughout the process.

The insurance agency hired SiteTuners for a full website redesign and development with conversion rate optimization and marketing and to make tactical changes to the current website while the redesign was in progress.

The support Site Tuners is providing includes the full range of related services such copywriting, lead magnet production, funnel development, CRM selection and set up and more. The insurance agency's goals are increase lead generation and improve the close rate resulting in increased revenue and profits.

How did you select SiteTuners and what were the deciding factors?

I have used and recommended Site Tuners going back 10 years at other companies. Having seen the results of using Site Tuners and changing service providers the impacts of their services of website traffic and conversions made the choice an easy one.

The simple difference is Site Tuners is a conversion optimization company that builds websites as opposed to other companies that are software and website developers that have learned about website conversion. 

There are subtle differences in technique that make a world of difference in the results. Site Tuners is clearly a company that focuses on website conversions and also builds websites. Most other other companies are website developers than integrate conversation methods. If you are looking to generate revenue from your website, the difference matters.

The insurance agency selected a monthly retainer option to do the work. This gave the flexibility to both make tactical changes to the current live website while taking the time to complete design and develop a brand new website. This approach allowed for great flexibility to meet adapt changing needs as the project evolved and we all learned more. It also meant that design elements and features could be developed and deployed to the current website and used for the new one.

The project kicked off with a meeting intake with our assigned director of optimization, Eric, asking questions of the CEO to get not only the technical information but critical information for the brand voice. We would eventually see this used it the layout, design and copy. Normally the meeting would be an hour but it was the meeting was productive and everyone had time to continue on for 2 hours.

With this information the Site Tuners team immediate went to work on creating some tactical changes to the insurance agency's home page and developing the wire frames for the new website. Upon approval of the wire frames the team went right to work on the site design. While the wire frames and website design were being developed Site Tuners continued to make tactical changes to the website. As features of the new website were developed some were able to be put to use immediately on the live website.

Simultaneously Site Turner helped with the selection of a CRM tool. For the insurance agency's needs and budget at the time RedTail Technology's CRM was selected. Site Tuners also helped with the design of a new lead magnet. While the insurance agency wrote the initial draft, Site Tuner performed the editing, layout and graphics. It's been received well.

We worked primarily with our Director of Optimization, Eric, who managed the team and brought in the appropriate resources at the right time.  This included a couple developers, copyrighters for the website and lead magnets, and even the president of the company when needed for some additional perspective. 

The Director of Optimization was very skilled understanding not only the technical aspects of conversion rate optimization but understanding business, customers, and translating business objectives into technial requiremental. He was a strong project manager as well, managing the project objectives, tasks, timeline and expectations to ensure success with an aggressive schedule.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

While the full website redesign was occurring Site Tuners also made tactical changes to the insurance agency's current website, starting with a home page refresh, changing the look and feel of the site and adding additional information as well as improving on site SEO. Almost immediately there was an increased traffic to the site and actions on the calls to action. 

The website redesign is an amazing piece of work and a massive step forward for the insurance agency. The Site Tuners team really outdid themselves capturing the brand and its message. Additionally, all of the insurance products were orgnaized for simple user navigation while simultaneously creating unque pages for each insurance product. The flexiblity to for marketing, social sharing and even user navigations through the site are tremendous.

The first point about project management you notice is during the intial intake meeting.  The Site Tuners team balances taking a storng leadership role and being open, listening and following the client's lead. The Site Tuners team will develop the options based on what they've heard as well as their experience with what works. The balancing works well. 

The meetings with the team are recorded and storaged for both the Site Tuners team and client to review. This enables the Site Tuners team to reveiw the meetigns and capture all the information, cutting down on meetings, missed information and enables the clients to also ensure completeness. 

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Whats most impressive about Site Tuner is literally the results. Ultimately websites are for driving business. How different companies do that will vary.  Site Tuners gets the results. There are plenty of companies that will build flasher websites, but they don't get the same results.  They psychology of conversion is about much more than pretty pictues. 

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not being an expert in conversion rate optimization it's hard to say what the Site Tuner's team could do better. They cost more, but you get more too.

Since we started working with SiteTurners we have had an increase of revenue for our online services. Because of the advice of Marty early on to have our services made available virtually, when COVID hit in March, our transition to online services was seamless. Had it not been for their advice and guidance, we would have been behind the curve — they saved us.
