I’m the owner of a vacation rental business and we have properties on the islands of Kauai and Hawaii.

What challenge were you trying to address with SEOfly?

We wanted to increase our digital presence and develop independence from the Airbnb platform with the creation of a website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We started the engagement with a discussion about the strategy to attract more visitors to my website, and we ended up purchasing a program that provided SEO services for six months.

Part of their services included keyword research and consultation that was specific to our business, so they developed a personalized approach to what I needed to accomplish.

What is the team composition?

We had an initial interaction with a sales consultant, and we also worked with three other people from their team.

I found their firm online and we communicated in person.

We invested around $30,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from May–November 2021.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The island is currently closed down due to the pandemic and while getting numerical results can be fairly difficult, we did see a 20%–30% increase in emails and business inquiries.

How did SEOfly perform from a project management standpoint?

They were able to adhere to our budget and the communication was excellent. We had monthly consultations about the site’s performance, and we would discuss new keywords and strategies to continue the improvement of our online presence.

We typically interacted through phone, email, and Zoom.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What distinguishes them from other providers is their responsiveness. We also liked the quality of their initial consultation because it was very well discussed.

I walked away with a greater sense of confidence in my website thanks to the value they brought.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We can’t think of anything they could improve on because we’re very happy with the results.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would advise trusting them and being patient because the results can take a bit of time.

I’m a project manager at a company that deals with wildlife management in municipalities and commercial or industrial jobs. For one, we monitor grizzly bears on pipelines. We also do private work, which can be anything from monitoring squirrels and raccoons to keeping out wolves.

What challenge were you trying to address with SEOfly?

We were trying to improve our marketing strategies. We were an Alberta-based company, but we dealt with the whole of western Canada. Given that, we wanted to be more searchable. However, we were buried behind results on Google search. On top of that, we weren’t super tech-savvy. Our business had a website, but it wasn’t great. Beyond it, we also didn’t have anything else set up. As a result, we hired SEOfly to help us.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We initially told SEOfly our business goals. While we weren’t sure what tech we needed, we knew that we needed to be more searchable on the internet for wildlife problems with coyotes, raccoons, bears, and squirrels. As such, they used key terms and search phrases to update our website, which they also made more compatible with mobile devices. 

What is the team composition?

We work with Joe (Founder), and he manages everything. 

How did you come to work with SEOfly?

Through networking, we were put in touch with Joe and SEOfly. One person who worked for us knew them from LinkedIn, so he looked up their information. We contacted a few other companies, but SEOfly simplified everything for us in terms of solving the problem. 

For comparison, other vendors asked us a lot of questions. By contrast, SEOfly went straight to the point and figured out things for us. It was great since we weren’t tech-savvy. As a result, we hired them. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’re spending between $2,000–$3,000 per month. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started around October 2020 or roughly after the COVID-19 pandemic started. We’re doing some on-and-off work because of budget reasons, but the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

For success metrics, SEOfly has provided us with keywords and our website’s history of performance. After being buried on the 11th page of search results, we’re now on the first and second page of Google. On top of that, we’re on the first page for all our high-priority keywords. That’s the difference they’ve made. 

At present, all of our prospective customers can easily find us without even knowing about us by searching general key phrases. Given that, we’ve also seen a big boom in sales. We’re hunters and trappers by trade, so we’re not often on our computers. As a result, having SEOfly to solve our problems has been great. 

How did SEOfly perform from a project management standpoint?

It’s taken SEOfly only 1–2 months to get us on the first search results page. In other words, they deliver results fast. We’re cruising and maintaining our progress. Moreover, it’s nice that we only have to deal with Joe to solve our problems. We don’t have to go through a whole network of people. On top of that, they put out a good budget, and they meet the goals they set. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re great at listening to us and asking the right questions, especially since we’re not aware of all tech-related things. Other vendors interrupt us and end up not quite understanding what we’re talking about. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

We’re in different time zones, so we’re two hours off from each other. Other than that, I don’t have any recommendations for them to improve. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Tell SEOfly what your goals are, and then work on a budget that’s achievable and realistic. It’s important to be realistic based on what you can spend since cost varies depending on keywords. With that in mind, SEOfly is good at helping you figure out what’s achievable within your budget.
