I will first start with the capabilities of Sem Nexus as a marketing agency. We onboarded Sem Nexus for online paid ads and influencer marketing, with a total budget of $20,000 - $5000 of which was their monthly fee, and the rest allocated as marketing budget. They asked for the whole amount upfront. Contracts signed, invoices paid.
In the first week they conducted ‘market research’ which was top level Googling, and was not heavily focused on our target market but instead a more broad, US-focused audience. In the second week, they ‘researched’ which ad networks could be used, which again was top level Googling, and did not include any performace analysis into such ad networks, the only wrote a 2-3 line outline of the ad network descriptions. Our marketing interns did such work in just 2 business days.
It then took Sem Nexus 4 business days to set up accounts, which at most takes quite literally 5 minutes to set up per ad network. In response to our voicing concern of the speed of work, Michael responded that the team were new to this and still learning. I can guarantee it does not take 4 business days to learn how to create an account and read through the basics of an ad network.
At this point we decided to end the contract since most of the month had gone and absolutely nothing had been achieved. They promised to return the $15,000 of unspent marketing budget to us. It has been more than 2 months since then and they ignored all emails and canceled any calls that we have tried to set up.
We can only assume that Michael has stolen our money, and that Sem Nexus is effectively a scam operation looking to drain the marketing budgets of smaller firms. All negative reviews share a similar experience when it comes from service. We can only regret we did not take heed earlier.

Their ability to make you believe how skilled they are before onboarded, and the incredible switch to almost nonchalant once payment has been made. I have never worked with an agency that simply does not care for its clients. It's remarkable.

They could have improved in absolutely every aspect. Taking 2 business days to respond is unacceptable. Taking almost one week to complete a simple task is unacceptable. Not doing proper influencer research before submitting a report is unacceptable. Taking $15,000 from a client is unacceptable.
