Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the press and media relations officer of the Kenya Footballers Welfare Association (KEFWA) and it’s mandated to protect the welfare and interests of the professional football players here in Kenya.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Selene Studios?

There were annual ads that showcased the best football players in different categories for the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) awards. In relation to that, we had our own awards and needed to create a lot of content production for that. We wanted the annual event to come out exactly the way we wanted it, and we hired Selene Studios to support us with their video production services.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They handled the overall production of the nd, which included scriptwriting, filming, and editing. Their work also involved setting up the atmosphere at the venue, setting up the lighting, and ensuring that we had all the cinematographic details we needed. They created a documentary, too. In addition, they integrated sponsor advertisements in our videos.

What is the team composition?

There were six people assigned to our project, and I was in contact with their CEO. 

How did you come to work with Selene Studios?

I tried to search online for companies that could help us and that was how I found Selene Studios. They were the best option because they were also from Kenya; it was easier to work with somebody local in a more hands-on way.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together in December 2021 and it’s an ongoing project.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We livestreamed the event on YouTube and other platforms. We weren’t doing very well before in terms of production but when we hired Selene Studios, they helped us. We didn’t have much of an increase in subscriptions but there was an increase in watch time. Several people came in to see the videos, and the biggest advantage was in terms of viewership.

In addition, they had a great understanding of working with sponsor brands, and they knew where to place the advertisements in our videos. As a result, we had brands targeting us for partnership and creating awareness.

How did Selene Studios perform from a project management standpoint?

Selene Studio had a splendid project management process. I really loved working with them. They were team players and even though there were several people involved, you could come in and blend into the work to make it your own. 

They were also reliable and great with deadlines. For this kind of project, you need regular communication and they were very good in this regard. I could depend on them for anything. We communicated mostly through Zoom meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their creativity was impressive. When we were trying to find a vendor for this project, I realized that we probably didn’t have a good overview. They brought in some great ideas, even if they seemed simple. Their ideas differentiated our event. Furthermore, they were very keen on understanding which kinds of shots to capture and how to bring out the best of each video. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their work was perfect for me.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Selene Studios has talented people and they do their work naturally. They’re not copying or faking anything. They have the skills necessary to make things efficient.

I am the CEO of Ace Creative Ltd. We are a software company offering services in App, web and system development.

For what projects/services did your company hire Selene Studios?

We needed a video production company to produce videos for a client website.

What were your goals for this project?

The videos were to full fill different needs.The videos were to give an accurate representation of the company ideas i.e 1. Company culture. 2. Services offered. 3. Why clients should work with them. The end goal was to get a higher conversion rate to users who accessed the website.

How did you select this vendor?

We issued a Request For Proposal and Selene Studios' response was the most promising.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.

The initial videos included a company culture, services explainer video and a testimonial video. They were delivered in good time and were to our desired standards. We are currently working on other concepts and we expect similar results.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

After the pre-production meeting and signing of contracts, they provided scripts and story boards before filming was started. We bounced around a few ideas and changes, which were swiftly implemented and filming was approved. No re-edits were needed m we were happy with the final output.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The client was happy with the results renewed our contract for another project.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We were in constant communication during the duration of the entire project, hence saved a lot time on issues such as re-edits , music , motion graphics etc

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We have worked with other vendors before and none ever provided storyboards and scripts for approval. This has saved a lot time and we are unwilling to accept any less.

Are there any areas for improvement?

They could lower their prices.
