We needed a complete Contract Management system starting with a feed from Salesforce (or similar) to create a record in (ContractPort) which would facilitate the creation of a Business Plan template in Excel that could be sent to prospective licensees to complete and return to licensor. Once completed and approved offline, the Business Plan document could then be uploaded into ContractPort (CP) where all data would be extracted and populated into CP.
Once Business Plan completed and approved, it gets converted into a Deal Memo, which can be exported, reviewed, approved and updated in CP. Once the Deal Memo is approved in CP, it can get converted to a Contract which in turn passes specific data points over to the Product Approval System (ProofTrak) so when the licensee logs in, he/she sees their published contracts and can then submit new product designs for review/approval.
Once products are approved in ProofTrak (PT), the approved SKUs are passed back to CP where they wait until the licensee submits his/her sales file for the previous quarter. Once sale file has been processes, CP will generate an error report and identify any irregularities committed by the licensee - this gives the licensor an insight into the licensees' business and determine if the licensee is in violation to the agreed to rights.
Once sales file has been process and saved to the database, the BI analytics engine then provides a plethora of analytic reports and dsahboards so that the licensor can help to steer the business in the desired direction.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We ended up with the most comprehensive system that includes more features than any of our competitors which has given us an edge when going after new business. Our advantage is that our system has the ability to wrap around our clients' needs whereas our competitors' systems require the client to bend it's business aroud their systems.

We had a local (same town) project manager that coordinated with an off shore project manager which made the discovery much more efficient and reduced the ramp up time. We met with the local project manager on a daily bases so they were super responsive at all times through the project.

BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the Mechanical Engineering Manager. We specialize in secondary tooling equipment particularly for the heavy truck industry.

For what projects/services did your company hire Sedin Technologies?
Sedin design a (2) robot drilling fixture that drilled all the holes in a sleeper roof for a semi-truck.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
My General Manager, Mark A. suggested Sedin. He utilized Sedin in his previous work and had success with them.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
Two Fanuc robots were mounted to steel tubing framework with a turntable at the centerpiece. Slides carrying Suhner drilling units were located on the back and sides of the frame and drilled the majority of the holes. The robots were used to drill the corners of the roof and the "walk-thru" area.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Approximately 4 designers (mechanical engineers)

I found that Sedin came up with alternative solutions to engineering problems in the design and could design independently.

No, I feel for a first job designing for us they handled it well.
