I’m the vice president of Port Moody OldTimers Hockey Association (PMOHA), a 35-year-old hockey organization.

For what projects/services did your company hire SaaSberry Innovation Laboratories Ltd.?

We initially tasked SaaSberry Innovation with developing our league management system. Since then, we’ve continued to use them to build out additional features as needed.

What were your goals for this project?

At the time, we wanted an administrative system that could balance the skill levels of participants and group them into competitive teams. We also needed a league-wide registration program, a scheduling program, and an integrated payment program for members to pay fees online.

How did you select this vendor?

As a league, we were familiar with SaaSberry Innovation and their principals’ services and background. Their knowledge of our requirements allowed them to quickly implement a program that could both meet our initial needs and adapt to future ones.

Describe the project in detail.

SaaSberry Innovation developed a software that helps us operate smoothly during the hockey season by managing our schedules, league members, stats, and penalties. The tool also features a payment gateway through our members’ login page to collect fees. On top of that, the team implemented a spare management solution, which has turned into a revenue stream. They now provide ongoing support as necessary.

We worked with their CEO and CTO.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We’ve used them for six years to date and are completely satisfied with their work. They’ve developed and implemented a program that requires minimum input from our executives while also offering information and statistics on an ongoing basis. This allows our executives to carry out oversight and planning initiatives.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

At all stages of the project, we’ve found SaaSberry Innovation to be responsive to our requests while also offering valuable input and alternatives.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

One of their most outstanding attributes is their response time. Requirement changes often call for a rapid response, and SaaSberry Innovation has always met our expectations on this front.

Are there any areas for improvement?

No, not that we’ve encountered.

We had designed a web app and worked with SaaSberry to build it.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We were introduced to the vendor as they had experience in the sports industry having built similar solutions to ours.

We had weekly status update meetings where the team talked though how the project was tracking and during these meetings various technology options and web screens were discussed and if appropriate, signed off. There was also an extensive UAT phase before going live.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We worked with around six people from the project team. Three were based in Canada (including the CTO) and three were based in India (including the Product Manager).

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We have been told the end deliverable looks great by our users who all like the look and feel of it.

The timelines were quite loose, meaning the build took as long as required to get to the desired outcome.

They were always available to speak and no issue was too small to discuss.

It was very challenging for me to understand but appreciated the simplicity of the system

Thier passion to see you grow as a company. They were always thinking about how we could scale our business.

I think communication is key , timelines should be notified if there are any hiccups etc
