We hired Rosso Recruiting to source specific people who had worked in our industry before. They usually send us video recordings and resumes of the people they’ve interviewed that they think would be a good fit. They also help coordinate time for us to speak to those candidates and facilitate the entire recruitment process.

Aside from that, Rosso Recruiting is responsible for doing assessment tests when needed. They’re also tasked with going through the job offers with the candidates, handling their onboarding, and checking in with them after they get hired to ensure they’re a good fit for the company.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our employees provide end user technology support, so they get a score based on customer feedback. We also look at the number of support tickets that they’ve worked on and closed in a timely manner. The employees that Rosso Recruiting has hired have done great so far.

How did Rosso Recruiting perform from a project management standpoint?

Rosso Recruiting has performed well in terms of project management. They use a web-based project management platform to manage their tasks.

We primarily communicate through email and Microsoft Teams.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Rosso Recruiting has a great transparent pricing model, which I like. They also have great customer service and communication. What stands out the most is their strong understanding of our business and what we were looking for.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. I can’t think of anything negative to say.

Make sure that you communicate your needs clearly and that you have a good understanding of what you’re looking for.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Rosso Recruiting takes resumes and candidates to send to us for review. As soon as we check the candidate’s qualifications, we let them know if we want to meet them in person or over the phone. After a couple of days, we decide if we’ll go through the interview process.

They do prescreening; we give them the job description, and they use it to find candidates that meet the qualifications. Overall, we look for people who are competent in working with commercial HVAC equipment, preferably candidates with experience, but we look for both senior and entry-level candidates.

I’ve been at the company for three months; my boss already had a relationship with Rosso Recruiting before I started.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re generally pleased with their responsiveness. They’ve been a pleasure to work with, and their performance has been top-tier. Their ability to manage the recruiting process and their communication skills are excellent.

How did Rosso Recruiting perform from a project management standpoint?

As a recruiting agency, they’re at the mercy of the candidates. However, they’ve performed in a timely fashion. We mostly communicate through emails, phone calls, and texts.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their biggest strength is their communication. They share any challenges with urgency in mind, which we definitely appreciate.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Although it’s out of their control, sometimes matching entry-level candidates with the job description is more subjective. I’d suggest improving the initial assessment of the less-experienced candidates. However, it isn’t a fault of their own but rather a reflection of the lack of talent available.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be very specific about your goals. If you do a good job conveying what your ideal candidate looks like, Rosso Recruiting will find someone in their labor pool to match it.

How did you select this firm and what were the deciding factors?

I selected Rosso because they were referred to me. The deciding factor was the attention to detail, small business focus, they worked in our industry and are price conscious.

The project included them consulting us on the best practices and things to do when hiring and onboarding new talent. We are working with them on their ability to scale our new hires when the new years starts, and actively helping us with direct and temporary placements.

I primarily worked with the owner Luke and his role is Principal Recruiter.

Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?

We were able to complete their Gold plan consulting package that enabled us to have a better understanding of the recruiting process, and they were very helpful in that regard. We also were able to use them to provide us with temporary talent in our logistics operations.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We communicated via email, text messages and phone conversations, as well as weekly video calls that helped us know where we stand.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their ability to adapt to our situation, and the fact that no task was too big or small to accomplish. I never felt rushed. Also they can really find great talent, in a very short time. Was very impressed with that.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

They are standardizing their offerings, but when we started with them they did not have them standardized yet. It is just much easier to do that. So my advice would be to just package your services better so there is less ambiguity.

What was the scope of work with Rosso Recruiting?

Rosso Recruiting helps us find technicians. The team finds potential candidates, asks them screening questions, sets up a first interview, and gives me the option to set up the remaining interviews or have them do it on our behalf. They help us determine the interest level of candidates and improve our hiring success rate. Rosso Recruiting is also happy to let the candidate know if we're heading in a different direction or call and interview all referrals.

As for the screening questions, Rosso Recruiting asks about the candidates' general expertise level, technical knowledge, and time, actions, and outcomes of how the candidates' personal involvement affected a scenario. For example, the team asks what superheat and subcooling are, what voltage we should have for one leg to the ground of 460V, and what the resistance readings should be in the coils of a three-phase compressor.

I've spoken with Kristi (Recruiting Manager) the entire time. I know she has coworkers that screen and find leads.

Rosso Recruiting reached out to us. We emailed some of our hiring needs, and Luke (CEO) and Kristi scheduled a meeting with me to review and discuss the type of candidate we were looking for, the skills we prioritized the most, relevant screening questions, and more. The team listened to our skill set requirements, including soft skills, and screened the candidates to let me know if they thought they would be a good fit.

We started working together in January 2024, and the engagement is ongoing.

I'm very impressed with the candidates Rosso Recruiting has presented to us. Within one year, we hired three of their candidates, and they're all still working for us and are great coworkers. Overall, every measurable is better than their competitors.

How did Rosso Recruiting perform from a project management standpoint?

Rosso Recruiting's project management is good. If any issues have arisen, Kristi has helped solve them, and Luke is happy to help as well. The team communicates with me in the most effective and efficient way possible. I might be in the field working or traveling for work, and Kristi accommodates how I need to communicate that day. She continuously follows through with our plans.

Rosso Recruiting's single point of contact is impressive. The team listens to our request for what type of candidate we need and effectively screens them. They have a higher success rate in hiring. Moreover, they share some of their core values, and their employees believe in them.

Our company was growing and needed to find the right cyber talent in a very competitive market. Our needs required us to find more cyber engineers and specialists, develop a good framework around talent management, and allow us to grow our team across the US.

How did you select this firm and what were the deciding factors?

We interviewed several players in this industry, but ultimately landed at Rosso Recruiting because of their attention to our very specific needs, willingness to go the extra mile to make sure we were heard, ability to create a custom proposal for us, documented past performance in our industry, and alignment with our own core values.

The team at Rosso helped us build out our recruiting process to include job description creation, interviewing structure, reference checks, follow ups, and offer letters, as well as help us source candidates. The process now involves us first identifying a need for staff internally, which is then communicated to the Rosso team. Both of our teams then work together to create a unique job description, which is then followed up by the Rosso team sourcing candidates and screening them. This is then sent to our internal team for review until a match is found, and the final step is the offer letter. Our entire process has been streamlined and is now consistent, allowing our talent pipeline to be full and allow us to pick and choose the right folks for our team.

We are assigned an Account Executive and Sourcing Expert, however there is a team of 5 assigned to our account.

Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?

Using Rosso's expert team in our recruiting process and sourcing of candidates has allowed us to stay focused on providing deep cyber expertise for our clients. Their ability to execute consistently on the framework they developed for us has allowed us to grow with the right talent needed for the complex work we do.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Our teams have a weekly Friday call to review candidates, pipeline, and needs, which is then executed on the week after. Our Account Executive has been a key driver of our initiatives on a weekly basis.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Rosso has a unique ability to develop a talent plan specifically for our needs after spending time listening to our challenges. Too often, talent acquisition or recruiting firms use a cookie cutter approach that leads to wasted time. This is not the case for Rosso, as our structure and framework was custom created for us and has given us better results overall.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There was a little bit of back and forth on getting a consistent call schedule in the beginning due to our availability, but this was quickly addressed by our Account Executive.
