Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the owner of brn digital. We do social media and email marketing as well as digital marketing, strategy, and graphics.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with ROInsights?

Previously, we were tracking success through Excel but wanted to move it to a real-time dashboard. Our objective was to make sure we were tracking all the way through the funnel in different channels. We brought them on to build that dashboard.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I lean on Nathan (Co-Founder & Director of Data Intelligence) a lot to bounce ideas off on how to track success. That tracking ranges from how to set up Google Analytics within tags and conversions all the way to making sure we got input from multiple agencies.

They’ve also helped with coaching my team on how to build storytelling through analytics. They build reports and get them ready for us. Then, we put all the insights in and build the story. Occasionally, they help us with our invoicing so we can ensure we’re profitable across the board in how we charge back to our clients.

What is the team composition?

We work primarily with Nathan and Patrick (Co-Founder & Director of Technology). They also have an intern we’ve been working with.

How did you come to work with ROInsights?

I worked with Nathan at previous companies. We’ve worked together a lot in the timeline of our careers. When he co-founded ROInsights, it was the perfect opportunity to partner together.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested about $60,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing engagement started in October 2019.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their storytelling coaching has been helpful to improve our client relations. ROInsights takes high integrity to ensure the data is accurate. They always go above and beyond to go past just having a base report card. If we have a change from a client or something similar, they dive right in to help us solve it.

How did ROInsights perform from a project management standpoint?

Nathan is the best project manager I’ve ever known in my entire life. He’s super organized in his recaps and always ensures that everything is organized and deadlines are hit. That bleeds into the rest of the team as well. They have everything in a rhythmic setup. If anything is going to cause a delay, they’re great at communicating so we can plan for that.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have a scrappy approach to their competitors. They’re inexpensive because they figured out how to use free tools like Google Data Studio that make them just as powerful as those using really expensive tools. They’re fully customizable without having to break the bank either.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I like that they’re super niche into reporting and optimization. As they work on growing, they have to make sure what Nathan and Patrick provide carries through to their future team members.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

As long as you provide clear goals and objectives up front, you’ll empower them to do their best work. Make sure you’re transparent in what resources you have available. If you’re open and honest, they’ll build a better product for sure.

Please describe your company and your position there.

I was working as an independent marketing consultant and brought ROInsights into 2 different Client engagements to help me with building the digital infrastructure.

For what projects/services did your company hire ROInsights, and what were your goals?

Both of the Clients had different operating business models: one a government IT (B2B) and the other a direct-to-consumer (B2C) in different stages of maturity and growth. Both had neglected the basics of the digital infrastructure and a way to enable a better Customer Journey.

SOLUTION

How did you select ROInsights and what were the deciding factors?

We engaged ROInsights with the task of building the dashboards and cleaning up the 'in-house experts' work so that the Clients could operate with better, easier to use information. After seeing their work with other Clients and understanding their methodology, there was no doubt that their approach was the right one for these Clients.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and campaigns.

Ultimately, we had to give the Clients an easy-to-use, yet powerful dynamic tool to help them make better decisions based on the activities they were starting to test from PPC and social media marketing.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We had direct line of access to the CEO, COO and our consulting was essentially seen as the outsourced role of CMO.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We delivered a working toolset for both Clients in less than 6 weeks from the original exploration call to working model.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.

ROInsights is a terrific vendor and more of a partner in the way they work. They bring a number of helpful project management tools and practices, yet were adaptable enough to work within my preferred methodology. They also present themselves well whenever they had to present to the Clients.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

So many great qualities to list: speed of the development; professionalism of their conduct; ability to listen and receive feedback; overall value in the work they produce. But most importantly, they're the kind of human beings you want to not only do business with, but also associate with in general.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Nothing other than to say that I think that they are underpriced for what they deliver.
