Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder of Hire Insight, which helps equipment rental businesses with their asset management and data analysis. We help them become more efficient and improve their ROI. I’ve been in the rental industry for nearly 20 years. 

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with RiverView Portfolio Ltd?

We have several businesses, and two of them are property companies. As a result, we need a property specialist accountant that can make these companies work together.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

RiverView does bookkeeping services for my company, and they perform tasks related to value-added tax (VAT) and payroll management.  

What is the team composition?

We work with around four people, including Mark (Consultant Accountant), who’s our main point of contact. 

How did you come to work with RiverView Portfolio Ltd?

RiverView was recommended to my wife. We spoke with Mark and had a half-hour conversation, and it was clear that he knew what he was doing. 

How much have you invested with them?

So far, we’ve invested around £2,000 (approximately $3,000). 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in July 2020, and the partnership’s ongoing. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

RiverView has tidied up our company details. With their help, we’ve also created another company that oversees the other businesses that we have. This has driven up our efficiency. 

How did RiverView Portfolio Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

We use emails for communication. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their depth of knowledge about properties is impressive. They also have a broad knowledge about many things, so they do webinars and podcasts about any budget or legislation change. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’ve run administrative departments for large companies, and I have a certain way of disseminating information — I wish RiverView would take that up. They send out a lot of individual emails, but having a register of actions and to-do lists is much more efficient for a fast-paced business. Moreover, I sometimes miss individual emails partly due to my lack of organization, so having a register is much more accurate for me. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

To get the most out of RiverView, you need to have properties and businesses. If you only have a single property or business, they’re probably not the right fit for you. Moreover, the more complex your business structures are, the more they come through.
