Introduce your business and what you do there.

I work for Saint-Gobain India. We manufacture glass for façades and interiors, and our customers are architects, developers, and consultants. I’m a design manager for the company, and my job is to help customers choose the right product.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Rillusion?

We were trying to build an interactive interface for our visitor center kiosk app, in order to provide a more engaging experience than using printed catalogs.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Rillusion was our UI/UX design partner for the kiosk interface. We built it as a desktop application, and its role is to take customers through a product selection journey.

They conducted a workshop in order to understand our needs and expectations for the application, user profiles, and so on.

What is the team composition?

I interacted with a business development manager during the onboarding. He learned our requirements and introduced us to his UI/UX team, which included a design lead. I interacted with 4–5 people in total, and I acted as the product owner.

How did you come to work with Rillusion?

I found them through a Google search. They came to our place for an initial discussion, and we got some confidence in them based on that. Rillusion had a young team, and they’d worked on some interesting products. They were also a good fit for our budget.

How much have you invested with them?

The project cost was $5,500–$6,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Rillusion in January 2020, and we finished the project in May or June of 2020.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Rillusion delivered what we wanted, the quality was very good, and they delivered almost on time. I had a positive experience, and I’d recommend Rillusion to anyone looking for such work.

How did Rillusion perform from a project management standpoint?

They were quite rigorous on their side, but this project required a lot of creativity, so we went through multiple design sprints and change requests. We had to move certain items to the next slide or remove them, and those iterations extended the timeline. I wouldn’t say that it was Rillusion’s fault. It was a demanding project.

They were very communicative, and they let us know in advance about the time extension. They were good in terms of arranging sprints and keeping stakeholders informed. The communication part was perfect. We had weekly meetings, and we had email communication outside of that. The designs were delivered through Figma, which was a user-friendly solution for our developers.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They got to the core of the requirements and strived to understand why we were building this app and what benefits it would bring. Rillusion’s best quality was how user-centric they were.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could improve in terms of timeline estimations. The initial estimate was very ambitious, and we couldn’t meet it exactly.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

If the client knows what they’re doing and why, and if they can define requirements properly, Rillusion will take it from there. They conduct user interviews and workshops in order to understand what exactly they’re looking at.

I'm CEO of Betamonks. We specialize in platform development, integration, and automation application development in the areas of banking, healthcare, and e-governance, among others.

We hired them to create simple and intuitive design UX and UI of our mobile solution for a mutual fund customer.

What were your goals for this project?

We needed to replace an existing mobile solution with a simple and intuitively-designed one.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We've been working with them from our inception. They've previously done our branding and website.

This solution was developed as a replacement for an existing mobile solution. It integrates with the mutual fund's backend APIs.

What was the team composition?

We had one UX specialist, two UI designers, and one UX tester assigned. We also had one dedicated account/project manager.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Within 15 days, we received the overall UX flow and UI layout. This helped us speed the delivery of the whole project.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It was very collaborative. We received weekly updates and follow up from their account management team.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We have a long list—their creative team, their ability to understand business requirements, and their ability to think simply and clearly. They go the extra mile to conduct mock UX reviews with samples, before finalizing the flow.

There's nothing I could say.

I'm a project manager at Revv, a mobility solution platform. We provide self-driving rental cars for round trips, outstation one-way trips, local one-way trips, and weekly and monthly commutes.

For what projects/services did your company hire Rillusion?

We are launching a new, disruptive product soon. Rillusion helped us with UI/UX and web design for the project. 

What were your goals for this project?

The goal of the project was to design a simple, user-friendly website to minimize dropoffs during booking.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

After thoroughly researching many vendor portfolios, we found Rillusion's work spellbinding and clean. The quality of their work was reflected in the concepts and illustrations in their portfolio.

Describe the project in detail.

Once we shared the project timeline, we had three interviews so Rillusion could better understand the product. The interview questions were designed to extract the maximum amount of information.

They designed a sample website mockup in a week. They also shared two variations of the homepage to establish a structure for the rest of the website. We decided to finish the mobile webpage first. 

As per our timeline, we received screens and gave them feedback, which they implemented the next day.

What was the team composition?

They assigned a project manager, but the best part was the direct interaction with the lead designer, which helped us share feedback without losing information. There were two graphic designers as well.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project was finished within the timeline, and the work quality was not compromised. Now the entire booking flow is very smooth. 

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The project manager was easily accessible, and we could directly contact them. We mostly communicated on WhatsApp and over the phone. They were available at odd hours to discuss feedback and new concepts.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was impressed by their understanding of website design and flow optimization. They always came up with new ideas and concepts. The best part was their accessibility and timeliness. We will work with Rillusion for our all future projects.

I’m the VP of IT with a large chemical manufacturing company. We produce a range of products and services focusing on technical textiles, Fluro- and specialty chemicals, engineering plastics, and packaging films.

We someone to design the UX/UI for our intranet, which is an employee, self-service, web-based application developed in-house.

What were your goals for this project?

We were hoping to have a brand-new design and logo, along with a UI scheme that provided our end-users with a rich experience.

How did you select this vendor?

We floated RFQ’s to multiple vendors in the space, and we made our choice after detailed review and discussion with their founder and business manager. We were impressed by the solution they offered and our analysis of their credentials.

They produced a design, logo, and color scheme for our intranet brand. They also designed webpages, a UI tool-kit and style sheets, mock wireframes and website HTML files. They also supported our development team with implementing designs.

We worked with a project manager, two designers and two HTML developers.

The project was completed within our strict deadlines. They were committed to producing good quality output, which was appreciated by all key stakeholders and end-users.

Initially, our contacts referred 3–4 vendors. Based on the evaluation, we awarded the project to Rillusion.

Initially, we had a series of meetings with their team to discuss our requirements. Then, they provided mock-ups of their design and implemented corrections. We approved the final design and gave it to them for further processing.

The wanted quality design on a limited budget.

How did you select this vendor?

As a small startup, we couldn’t afford the premium design agencies’ fees. We considered 10 vendors, but chose Rillusion because they had experience in delivering the kind of quality designs we wanted.

We had a series of meeting to discuss requirements and hand over sketches to the team. After a couple of months, they followed up with designs for the logo and two screens. Rillusion then revised these designs during a brainstorming phase before delivering the final results.
