YoungWear is a Polish fashion brand founded in Warsaw in 2014 that produces streetwear-style clothing with a well-recognized bull logo. The brand is known for its collaborations with popular hip-hop artists and being promoted by many influencers.

Migration of an online store to a headless architecture solution in Medusa and Next.js. The new solution allowed the brand to provide better user experiences and enter the new UA market.

Due to Agile project management, all my requests were included in consecutive sprints. After each sprint, we had a demo meeting during which the team showed me the progress of the work and allowed me to request any changes.

I’m the owner of TraczykLeather, a brand offering handcrafted leather products.

For what projects/services did your company hire Rigby, and what were your goals?

I hired Rigby to develop a new online store for our brand. I came just with a general idea and lack of knowledge about the technical aspect of e-commerce. They explained everything, helped me determine my needs and changed them to a real plan.

I wanted a smoothly running website with a dedicated look that would give a good impression of our brand. The platform had to have the ability to easily manage products and content on the website. It was also important to have a possibility to extend the store of new features in future.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Before we started the cooperation, we had been working on a product for a fashion designer. She was previously a client of Rigby and she recommended us their services. We checked their websites, google reviews and after two meetings, we were sure that we wanted to work with these guys.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

The project started from meeting to discuss all requirements and functionalities. They then propose a solution and after my approval, they divided the project into phases and scheduled them. The solution suggested using NextJs and Saleor technology. They explained all pros and cons of this proposition and it convinced me.

The first phase was about designing. It is worth praising the fact that the designer took our whims into account. Once our designs were ready, there was the implementation part. We met every Tuesday and I was informed about progress. The important was that during all the implementation we stayed in touch and we got answers to all of our doubts. At the moment we are planning to develop the next features for our website.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We started to sell our product online and after the first month, since our website is live, it is in first place in the google search result for our brand name.

The communication was conducted mainly in Slack. We had a private chat room that allows being always in contact. They informed regularly what are they working on at the moment. We discussed many things together and I always felt like a part of a team.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They are passionate about what they are doing. I was surprised by how engaged they are in a project. We got a lot of preparation in our company because of the project and sometimes it was tiring, then I talked with Rigby team and I got an injection of fresh motivation. Mainly our discussions looked like brain-storming. Loved that!

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Sometimes they use too many technical words but I believe it is better than the opposite. When I asked about a more detailed explanation I always got it.

The team developed the marketplace for AI-driven SaaS applications from scratch, including the solution for pass-through authorization into SaaS apps and the metering billing modules.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The marketplace was practically complete and ready to go. Unfortunately, we had to freeze the development three weeks before the release due to our company's changed priorities. However, the product was developed and delivered by the Rigby team.

The project management was organized in JIRA, with a dedicated project manager overseeing the development of the product. The team was very flexible, changing the scope and the entire management flow in response to our feedback.

We had some issues with the QA being a bottleneck for a while, but this issue was resolved over time.

The goal of the project was to set up a two-sided marketplace for natural and healthy products. This included building the storefront, the vendor panel, and migration of data from the previous marketplace:

• Build storefront with extended features, such as wishlists, reviews, quick checkout, search and filter options, user profile, and content management
• Build vendor panel with extended features, such as shop profile, legal texts, listing process with multiple variants, vendor onboarding and verification, shipping profiles, and more.
• Integration of Stripe Connect as payment provider
• Invoicing and comision management
• Connection of external scripts and email tools
• Migration of data of previous market place
• UX design and optimization

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The outcome of the project is a fully functioning marketplace. The storefront allows buyers to browse and filter the catalogue or quickly search for products, create their profile, buy products with or without registration, track and trace the status of their orders, create wishlists and many more.

Vendors are able to list their products in an easy yet fully flexible way allowing them to add products with multiple variants, create their shipping profiles, receive payments via Stripe Connect, receive marketplace invoices. There is also the option to bulk upload their inventory speeding up the listing process. Vendors can create and customize their shop profile allowing them to demonstrate what makes their products standout.

As the operator of the marketplace we have access to a comprehensive administration backend, with tools, such as mail services and Analytics connected. Vendor invoicing and payment is handled automatically.

Rigby's project management is awesome. The team is very responsive, alwys available and communicates pro-actively. Tasks were mostly delivered in-time and in case of any delays due to unforeseen issues, we were always notified. Unforeseen issues were handled with highest priority keeping delays at a minimum.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their accountability and communication were outstanding. Everybody is very comitted, available, responsive and engaged to deliver the best solution in the shortest period of time.

In each project of this size, there are opportunities for improvement on both sides. During the course of the project we managed to optimize expectation management and work together more efficiently.
