I’m the director of product and experience at Scotsman Guide, a financial services company. We provide trusted news, rankings, and analysis for the US mortgage industry, offering publications, industry data, and tools that connect originators, brokers, investors, and lenders.

What challenges were you trying to address with Redfish Technology?

We needed to find unique engineering talent tailored to the platform project we were building.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We had a significant ask after two months of no results. We needed a data engineer who could reconstruct our architecture to support our new platform build. We also needed a senior backend engineer who could act as the team leader and build a unique search API that serves a multi-surface scope.
We needed senior, experienced talent who understood agentic approaches, and that’s what Redfish Technology provided during a period where there was high scarcity and skyrocketing budgets. The team introduced a remote strategy that worked within our budget.
Moreover, the volume of quality candidates changed our approach midstream, and we added a third engineer to assist in the context engineering and agentic cockpit build. Redfish Technology handled sourcing and screening.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We noticed distinct personality types in the first-round interviews and arranged a collective workshop so we could test the teamwork aspect. It netted quick results and decreased our time to decision by 50%.

How did Redfish Technology perform from a project management standpoint?

They delivered on time. We had mixed results at first, but Will (CEO) refined and made some adjustments that accelerated our quality, fit, and discovery time significantly. We communicated via virtual meetings, emails, and messaging apps.

There were tech issues with the remote interviews that needed a moderator. The majority of the sessions required assistance.

We’ve hired 10 engineers through our partnership with Redfish Technology. We look at the candidate quality and retention rates, and the large majority of candidates stay on our team for more than three years. Overall, they reliably provide solid candidates, and I’m rarely surprised during a hiring manager call as to why I’m speaking with a particular individual.
