Elaine with Ready Set Go website design created a beautiful website for me and assisted me with it every step of the way. She worked with me in deciding when and how to post the instruction and listened very carefully to everything I wanted the website to do. She did an impeccable job creating the website just as I described it to her, included everything I asked and added a few touches of her own that I was happy to retain on the website.

She also gave me solid advice about the types of payment apps to choose from and use and advice on ways to have students contact me without giving them personal information. Her expertise and experience was extremely valuable.

Elaine was recommended to me by a co-worker at my previous job. I considered several other, but am very glad I chose Ready Set Go to do my website design.

Elaine started by asking me what my goals were, what I wanted to accomplish, how many pages I wanted to website to be and then showed me several websites she had previously created. She assisted me in doing a little market research to determine how much competition there might be. She then asked for my ideas and what was important to me and offered additional suggestions.

After creating a test website that I could examine she gave me several opportunities to suggest additional changes. We worked together for several sessions working out details. Several times she pointed out inaccuracies and wording she thought might be confusing for my potentials clients. Elaine gave me access to the site through the entire process and then created a trial client to make sure the payment processing app was functioning as it should. She did beautiful work and simply could not have been more helpful.

I am still in the process of promoting the website and establishing my clients, but I can say that a number of people known and unknown to me have viewed the site and given me great reviews of her work.

Elaine's personal journey creating her own business taught her a lot that she shared with me as well. The advice she offered was spot on and very insightful.

After our initial meeting, Ready Set Go provided a quote and Elaine started the work. She provided quite a bit of assistance with putting my information into more website friendly terminology. We worked with a back and forth approach to get the information ready.

Elaine then spent a lot of time helping me get the right access to the old domain and helped me move the domain to a new provider. Elaine published quickly once we were able to get the domain move accomplished.

I was looking for a company to design my website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Ready Set Go provided website development for my company. They began by having me fill out a series of forms describing what I wanted on the website. Then, they walked me through the steps of the website development process, which also helped me in the formation of my business. 

Ready Set Go built the entire website from scratch on Weebly. They recommended an artist for the branding and a photographer for website photos. They also helped me with graphics and we used Shutterstock for stock photos. 

What is the team composition?

I worked with Elaine (Owner), who is the sole teammate at Ready Set Go — she only works with other solo entrepreneurs and small businesses. 

How did you come to work with Ready Set Go Website Design?

I did some research online for web developers in my region and Ready Set Go came up in my search. There was also another entity that I was looking at, but they weren’t the right fit. Elaine and Ready Set Go were the best fit for what I needed. 

How much have you invested with them?

I invested around $900 with Ready Set Go. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from September–October 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I’ve just started my business, so my website is only now being shown to potential customers. But overall, I’ve had a very positive response to the look and feel of the site. 

How did Ready Set Go Website Design perform from a project management standpoint?

Elaine stayed in communication with me until the job was done — we went back and forth on the deliverables until my needs were met. The three forms I filled out at the beginning of the project provided all of the organization necessary for the project. 

Elaine was very flexible in terms of how we communicated. We communicated differently depending on where we were in the project — sometimes we just needed to share documents on Zoom or I needed questions answered quickly. Generally, we communicated via phone calls, text messages, and Zoom meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

When I talked to larger firms, they didn’t provide services that fit my small business. That’s why Elaine’s emphasis and specialization on businesses run by solo entrepreneurs really distinguished her. From the beginning of the project, she knew what goals and expectations were realistic for small business owners — she really understood her niche market. 

Elaine was also very clear upfront about what her services included. Her work was great and led to other connections that were helpful for my company that I will use again. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I think it would be very helpful if Ready Set Go shared their SEO keywords for their own website. It can be hard to pick up SEO and it would be helpful to have an example of what terms they’ve developed that work for them. 

I ended up coming up with my own keywords, but it was challenging for me as a newer small business owner. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Customers should go into the project with some ideas, but be open to suggestions from Elaine because her suggestions are good.

I’m the owner and sole proprietor of Mayfair on the Boulevard, a small gift shop in Fort Worth, Texas.

What challenge were you trying to address with Ready Set Go Website Design?

I want to have a directional website that talks about my store while introducing me and my work. For context, I’ve designed about half of my merchandise, and I want people to understand that so that they can have a look at my products and find out more.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Ready Set Go has created a Weebly website for me to sell my products and whatever my inventory has. We’re currently working on ways to put products on the website. We plan to have a separate inventory for it to remove the danger of selling an item online without removing it from the physical store. 

In terms of design, I want a functional yet modern design even though I’m a low-tech person. It should allow me to upload beautiful pictures of my store and products. I should also be able to insert short paragraphs about my handmade items, our historic building, and our location in Fort Worth. Overall, my goal is to have a pretty website that doesn’t look like my competitors’ sites. Ready Set Go has also guided me on how to use the website easily in a way that’s not daunting.

How did you come to work with Go Website Design?

Elaine was shopping in my store, and we were the only people there at that moment. We started talking, and I asked her what she did for a living. It was great that she walked into the store because I had no idea where to begin this project. On top of that, her price was good for me; I was on a small budget and didn’t have any employees or help here. In other words, I needed her low-cost services, so I hired her. 

How much have you invested with them?

I’ve spent less than $1,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in April 2019, and the partnership is ongoing. The website was finished within a couple of weeks, but I continue to engage Elaine for maintenance.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I don’t track sales or success metrics that have come from my engagement with Ready Set Go because I’m so busy with my store. Moreover, I’m simply testing the store out and not advertising it. To be honest, I’m scared to promote it because I’m not sure whether I can keep up if the store starts taking off. In any case, the website has been finished and it’s ready anytime I want to advertise it. 

In other words, the lack of growth on the website comes from my end. I don’t have anybody to help me handle the inventory — I don’t want to find out that I’ve got an online order in the morning for something I’ve sold in the store the previous afternoon because I’ve forgotten to delete it. I have to get used to that process first. 

Meanwhile, Ready Set Go has grown over time, but they continue to service my account. Every time I have a question, Elaine is on top of it. For instance, if I want to narrow down my product listings into fewer categories, she does it within 10 minutes, giving me exactly what I want. If I want her to put an “under renovation” sign on the website, she also does it in 10 minutes. Overall, working with her has been quick and easy. 

How did Ready Set Go Website Design perform from a project management standpoint?

Ready Set Go’s project management has been excellent. I’ve expected the site development to be a long process, but Elaine has put it together quickly and exactly as I’ve asked her. Whereas my mind is more on the artistic side, Elaine is great at technical things — it’s second nature to her.

To communicate, we text. Elaine comes to the store periodically, but I mainly simply text her if I have a question or want to ask for something. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve felt so comfortable trusting her with personal information. I’ve given her passwords and things like that; that’s a scary thing to do with somebody I don’t know at all. However, I’ve known I can trust Elaine from the minute I met her. Overall, I’ve been lucky to meet her. In fact, I’ve already recommended her to my friends who’ve started their businesses. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there aren’t any. The only thing that’s holding me back is that I don’t want to spend money to promote the website via SEO because I’m not sure yet about the direction I want to pursue. This has nothing to do with Elaine’s technical skills.

Most of my business came from referrals. I’m not tech-savvy, and I was frustrated that I didn’t have a website since that might result in me losing potential clients. I needed help in building a website.

I had a potential client who wanted to give me a lot of work. However, they felt frustrated because they didn’t have a clear way of connecting people to my work. I was out of town and in a remote area when I reached out to Ready Set Go. I explained my situation, and they offered to help out. Ready Set Go built my site over the course of a weekend. 

I didn’t have any logo or other assets that could be used on the website. Despite that, I was delighted with the outcome. They created a story around the site’s design, which I can appreciate as an artist. I liked what they did since the platform effectively represented my work and what I could offer.

I’m an artist, and I measure the success of a project visually, based on what it looks like. That said, Ready Set Go’s work was very successful — it was easy to manage, accessible, and accurately told the story of what I do. 

The site was pleasing to the eye, and it allowed people to easily get the information they needed about me and my business. I finally have something professional that I can show to potential clients. 

They were very helpful to me despite my lack of tech knowledge. They even produced a video that contained instructions on how to update and maintain the site by myself.

Ready Set Go was very professional and organized. I felt that they heard me, and they accomplished what I asked them to do in a very timely manner. They delivered the project within 24 hours; they hit it out of the ballpark. I was really in a pinch and ready to lose business, but they saved me and even exceeded my expectations.

We communicated through phone, email, and text. We also met in person. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was impressed with Ready Set Go’s quick turnaround in developing a platform that would set me apart from the competition and bring me business. They helped me out when I was in a real pinch — I was about to lose a client, but they came through for me.
