They were able to onboard quickly and were able to meet with all of our key stakeholders and learn about our app and challenges without any challenges. Good collaboration and communication has been seen since the beginning of the project. Many designs and iterations have been delivered and I have happy internal stakeholders.

The initial sales convo was pretty focused on starting with a design audit which I understand given that I've managed Design engagements myself but that rigidity wasn't fully aligned with our actual needs, budget or timelines. The real need that I had was to get going quickly on collaboration and see if this relationship was one that we could extend and live with for a while. That all said, the Quarte engagement pivoted toward collaboration in a short amount of time now we're working on T&M with a partner we trust and love.

QU'ARTE had required domain expertise (healthcare) to ramp up within our internal team relatively quickly. They understood the product, the customer, and the goals. They communicated effectively, and besides just being great designers, their UI/UX people managed to understand our business very well.

We had a perfect time working with their Product Design Lead - Ivan, and the Delivery Manager working with us was very professional, too. The design team provided design services for Android and iOS developers, and website developer. They coordinated changes and schedules with the Product Manager and the QA team. One of the best outcomes was a redesign of the interface using native elements. I had tried using North American based design teams, much more expensive design teams, and this organization stood their ground and strongly suggested a rework was needed. This turned out to be sound advice.

They based their initial case on realistic development costs. In the end, I got far lower development costs and a much more amazing user interface than previous designs that relied on custom elements. Projects were done on time.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Budget estimates were accurate. Improvements to user experience were promised and I believe that promise was kept. The development was done at a much lower cost. At the beginning of development I did not understand how much more the custom elements from previous design teams would inflate development costs and slow time to market. This was one team that proactively wanted the technology and project to succeed more than they wanted billeable hours. It has been a great fit for us.

For the most part the estimates were very accurate. Project Management communication was generally pretty clear. There were very few cultural differences that caused issues with the work that was done.

There were times where as a founder I wanted people to be so enthused they would work through evenings or weekends a little bit to get more done. The design team had a high level of character but they sort of drew the line at that point and didn't have the same vision. In hindsight, that is to be expected

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They've taken the existing design and been adamant about meeting my goals for a 'wow' experience much better than the three other desings that were already done, but they could do it with much faster development using native elements. That turned out to be accurate. Time and time again I've been helped to have similar suggestions, that have helped made the product better.

Are there any areas for improvement or something QU'ARTE could have done differently?

I wish they never had any turnover, but that isn't realistic! They may have been slow to react to some of the wage inflation that hit eastern European service providers during boom years. This maybe caused a little higher turnover than other providers. Generally, their standards for talent replacement a pretty good when turnover does happen.

The designer did a great job in analysing the data that needs to be displayed and proposing the best approach. Mobile application gets the data from the device and displays the current state of the devices in the hospital and statistics.

When we got acquainted with QU'ARTE we had pretty much nothing. Just a set of operational and managerial problems. At some point, we were 75% paper-driven organization and we were hoping to digitalize at least part of that. An important thing to mention is that QU'ARTE started to ask proper questions from day one and we started to shape the solution from there. 

It took us 3 months to scope the product, wireframe it, and design it.I remember clickable prototype being very convenient to test user feedback at that stage for both us and QU'ARTE team. As we moved forward with an actual implementation of the product, QU'ARTE team was very integrated with our software vendors and helped us make sure the other team delivers what we initially planned, designed and expected.

We transitioned from the old-fashioned tools we used to run business with to a digital one. It was not easy, as change management is a challenging thing in our industry, but that's a different topic to discuss:) Numbers-wise our efficiency as an organization grew at least by 5%, which is huge at our size and scale.

You don't feel you are running an offshore team, as there is always someone to connect with in the US or Ukraine if any questions arise, even outside their regular work hours. They knew how to manage our expectations properly and educated us ALOT on how things work in product design and software(as you might see, we are coming from a very "distant" industry from IT) Yes, they delivered on time

We wanted an updated look & feel for our website. We hired QU’ARTE to make our UX/UI fresh & new.

What was the scope of their involvement?

QU’ARTE is the sister company to the development team that built the most current version of our website. We asked them to make our site’s design approachable, appealing, and free-flowing. We provided them with the mockups. After discussing our vision, they showed us a few screenshots. After our approval, they began working on the design of the platform.

How did you come to work with QU’ARTE?

We were working with their sister company that brought QU’ARTE in for us.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with QU’ARTE in November 2018, and the engagement concluded in February 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their team delivered. Customer feedback on the look & feel has been excellent. We have customer service five days a week, and all of the input always references how everything is streamlined and the visual appeal of the site. The engagement with QU’ARTE was a win for us.

How did QU’ARTE perform from a project management standpoint?

For this particular piece, they did an excellent job. Their team was on time. They worked quickly, not holding up the rest of the development piece.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team at QU’ARTE makes themselves readily available. Even though they’re based in Ukraine, the time difference isn’t a factor. There’s never been an issue. Their team is quite responsive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything that they need to improve.

As with all development projects, it’s always useful to be on the same page with expectations and deadlines. We were quite specific with what we wanted and what we wanted to pay for it and when we expected it to be done.
