I am the Director of Business Development. My job is to drive sales and increase the revenue of the company, plus all aspects of our brand and image. Plus strategic direction.

We need to drive revenue and increase brand awareness, through a major public relations campaign.

We had previously worked with Sally, and found her to be exceptionally hard working, gets results, and very knowledgeable and well connected in her field.

Sally needed to interview our Chief Scientist and inventor, become familiar with our product and unique selling point, as well as identify gaps in the market. Places where are message was unclear. Where our strategy was lacking etc.

I worked directly with the Director Sally Symonds.

Since working with Sally our revenue increased by 10% and held steady during Covid.

Sally is very fast and efficient. She is always waiting for you. Never the other way around. Her style is collaborative and constructive, she delivers feedback gently and is strategic in her planning.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Commitment to her craft, knowing the best way to go about PR, having unique ideas. Being able to get the results with the coverage we need.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I would recommend Sally to any business and have done so already.

I am the CEO of Safe Haven Community. A NFP organisation that offers crisis accommodation for women and children fleeing domestic abuse, coercive control.

Our service is very particular with the sector we are in. It is not your average business that can market in the general sense. We needed to gain brand awareness, obtain media coverage and ensure women who need help know where to come.

I found Sally through LinkedIn. We had a chat and decided we would see how it goes for both of us.

Sally took immediate action in writing press releases, talking to contacts in radio, TV and social media. We received radio interviews, spots on Channel Nine and Channel Ten news. She has even taken us nationally, where we have had interviews with organisations interstate.

Since working with Sally it is clear that you cannot do PR on your own. Having someone like Sally on your side gives you immediate return on your investment. She is skilled, experienced and can articulate easily what our organisation does, which is quite specific.

We have contact all the time with Sally over the phone, emails. She is very efficient. Always calls back and she goes over and above to support us.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They are proactive. They are always looking to see where we can be promoted. Sally even turned up to the Women's March, gave out flyers and then chased the media down for an interview that was aired that night. She is remarkable.

At this stage, she is flawless.

Ride for Rural is a physical challenge under taken by James Hackney. James is cycling from Uluru to Sydney, covering 4 states and 2,795km. He's doing this alone, sleeping on the side of the road and in any accomodation he comes across. I am the project manager for this endeavour.

Ride for Rural is a physical challenge under taken by James Hackney. James is cycling from Uluru to Sydney, covering 4 states and 2,795km. He's doing this alone, sleeping on the side of the road and in any accomodation he comes across.

He is undertaking this challenge to raise awareness of mental health in rural Australia. We selected Sally in order to help us meet our fundraising goal of $20,000 for the Royal Flying Doctor service.

What were your goals for this project?

1.  Meet the fundraising target in order to support the Royal Flying Doctor service and the work they do for rural communities
2. Help boost tourism and awareness of these remote towns
3. Inspire people with James' challenge

Please describe your company and your position there.

I’M AMBER, director of Kind is Cool. When I started Kind is Cool, I just wanted to bring a little bit of kindness into a world that suddenly felt dark to me. I’d been bullied by someone of authority that I worked with and it had really shaken me. I’d experienced first hand the affect bullying in the workplace as an adult can have.

The thought that I bringing up my two young boys in a world where things like that can happen, made me really sad. I was determined to do something to bring more kindness into the world.

I saw clothing as a blank canvas that could be used for good, to be used to spread kindness and inspire others to be kind! And now, one t-shirt at a time this is happening. Kind is Cool has grown into a global brand, worn by celebrities and change makers all over the world.

We are a proud partner with Bully Zero and co-founders of National Be Kind Day.

As a company, we started small. Originally we used a dropshipper to print the t-shirts, then as the business grew we invested in taking the production and printing in house to provide better customer service, faster turn around times and to ensure the quality was maintained in product and service.

I design all the products, hubby and I print them in our garage that we converted into a workshop, and my two boys and Georgia (our first employee) pack the orders. Our products are ethically sourced, from suppliers with high ethical and sustainability standards.

They are made with love, in the hope at least one person wearing them will be kinder and/or inspire others to be kind. A small act of kindness can change everything - it shifts your mindset, it makes someone’s day better, and it creates a ripple that contributes to building a kinder world.

Nothing changes if nothing changes. We can only create change if we actually change ourselves - our mindset, our actions and our thoughts. Kind Is Cool was founded with the intent to lead by example and show our younger generations that being kind is cool.
