Protofire is one of the earliest blockchain engineering firms, building and operating production Web3 systems since 2016. We maintain Solhint, an open-source Solidity linter and security tool used by over a million developers, and we build within the Chainlink, Safe, The Graph, and Blockscout ecosystems.
We are a full-stack blockchain engineering partner. Our teams design, ship, and operate:
Smart contracts and security: Solidity development, protocol engineering, audits, and static analysis with Solhint.
On-chain finance: lending and borrowing, staking and yield vaults, stablecoin systems, and tokenized real-world assets (RWA), built on standards such as ERC-4626 and ERC-3643.
Cross-chain and oracles: Chainlink oracle feeds and CCIP integrations, and cross-chain messaging.
Data and indexing: subgraphs and indexing on The Graph.
Infrastructure we run in production: nodes, block explorers (Blockscout), and Safe multisig and custody, on cloud and bare metal, for networks with heavy usage and non-EVM functionality, including UTXO and multi-sharding models.
For banks, fintechs, exchanges, and asset managers, we build the on-chain products they launch under their own brand: embedded earn and yield, crypto-backed lending, own-brand vaults, tokenized treasuries, and stablecoin payment rails, delivered and run as managed on-chain operations.
Selected work spans Chainlink, Safe, The Graph, Blockscout, Filecoin (glif), Harmony, DIA, Quai, Vana, Swarm, and Telos. Across multiple market cycles since 2016, Protofire has delivered 250+ projects for 60+ networks and 95+ protocols, secured $2B+ in on-chain assets across 120+ networks with zero vulnerabilities across delivered projects, and is trusted by teams including Aave, Balancer, Sky, and CoW Protocol.
Protofire offers good value for cost, with clients noting competitive pricing and a strong cultural fit. Projects typically involve 2-10 team members, focusing on smart contracts and integrations, demonstrating effective project management and ongoing partnerships.
Clients commend Protofire for their professional project management and clear, responsive communication. They effectively translate product goals into development work, facilitating efficient collaboration and timely deliveries.
Successful Product Integration and Development

Protofire has designed and developed a Strategy Hub for a DeFi platform company. The team has built smart contracts and the frontend, and connected them to allow interaction with the platform's strategies.
Protofire has delivered a functional, production-ready Strategy Hub that meets the client's expectations. The team has been highly technical, required minimal oversight, and had a deep understanding of the DeFi space. Protofire's development capabilities have streamlined the entire process.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I'm the head of ecosystem at QuickSwap, a multichain DeFi platform that lets users trade tokens, provide liquidity, earn yield, and access onchain financial products through one interface.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Protofire?
We were looking to expand QuickSwap’s development capacity while also accelerating third-party integrations and new product development. Protofire has helped us scale our engineering resources without needing to build everything internally, while bringing strong experience across smart contracts, frontend development and DeFi infrastructure. The relationship also goes beyond outsourced development. We are exploring opportunities to integrate Protofire’s own and partner products and infrastructure into QuickSwap where there is a strong fit, making the partnership valuable both from a development and product-integration perspective.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
QuickSwap has worked with Protofire across a number of development initiatives, with the Strategy Hub being one of the key projects delivered to date. Protofire’s involvement has been broad, covering additional development capacity, smart contract development, frontend work, and support for third-party integrations across the QuickSwap ecosystem.
They have worked with us on specific products such as the Strategy Hub, while also supporting wider technical initiatives as they arise. Alongside development work, we are also evaluating and pursuing opportunities to integrate Protofire-built products and infrastructure directly into QuickSwap. Their role is therefore broader than a single project or deliverable, and we see them as a technical partner that can support both product development and ecosystem expansion.
What is the team composition?
We worked with 5-10 teammates from Protofire.
How did you come to work with Protofire?
Protofire reached out to us directly and pitched a product. We chose them because they had high ratings, their pricing fit our budget, they had a great culture fit, they offered good value for the cost, and their company values aligned with ours.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from maybe April 2024 on an ongoing basis via different engagements
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The clearest evidence is in the products and integrations that have moved from concept into active development or production with Protofire’s support. The Strategy Hub is one tangible example, with Protofire contributing across both the smart contract and frontend layers to help bring the product to market. More broadly, the engagement has increased QuickSwap’s development capacity and allowed us to progress multiple initiatives in parallel without relying entirely on internal resources. We have also continued expanding the relationship into additional development work, third-party integrations, and potential integrations of Protofire’s own products. The fact that the scope of the partnership has continued to grow is itself a strong indicator of the value we have seen from the engagement.
How did Protofire perform from a project management standpoint?
We communicated via virtual meetings and emails or messaging appProtofire performed very well from a project management standpoint. Communication has been clear, responsive, and technically informed throughout the engagement. Renat in particular stands out because he genuinely understands the underlying technology, product mechanics, and DeFi considerations rather than simply managing timelines and deliverables. That makes discussions much more efficient, as he can understand the reasoning behind requirements, identify potential issues early, and help translate broader product goals into practical development work.s. Beyond individual deliverables, we view Protofire as an ongoing technical partner and are actively exploring and working on additional opportunities together as QuickSwap continues to expand its product suite.
What did you find most impressive or unique about them?
What stands out most is the combination of strong technical depth with a genuine understanding of how DeFi products work in practice. Protofire does not feel like a traditional outsourced development team simply working through a specification; they understand the mechanics behind the products, can challenge or improve ideas where needed, and are comfortable operating across smart contracts, frontend development, integrations, and infrastructure. That makes the relationship feel much more like an extension of the QuickSwap team and a long-term technical partnership rather than engagement around a single project. Our experience with Protofire has been very positive across the different initiatives we have worked on together. They have demonstrated strong technical capability across both smart contracts and frontend development, a good understanding of DeFi, and the ability to work effectively with our team from early-stage concepts through to production. The Strategy Hub is one example of that collaboration, but our relationship is broader than a single project. We are continuing to explore and work on additional initiatives with Protofire, which reflects our confidence in the team and the quality of the work delivered so far.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there weren’t any.

Our Story
We started Protofire in 2016 because serious blockchain teams needed engineers who would build real systems and stay to run them. We have kept that up through every market cycle since. We maintain Solhint, the open-source Solidity linter used by over a million developers, and we build and operate infrastructure across the Chainlink, Safe, and The Graph ecosystems. When chains, protocols, and finance teams need on-chain products that last, they come to us
What Sets Us Apart
Safe Guardians
Protofire has been a partner of the Safe team since 2017, contributed directly to its core codebase, and hold official Safe Guardian and Safe Wallet Partner status, which gives us quick PR-review access and close technical collaboration with the Safe core team.
Solhint
Our credentials include maintaining Solhint, the open-source Solidity linter used by 1M+ developers, and running a top-3 indexer in The Graph ecosystem.
Smart Contract Development
Protofire is a smart contract development company that has deployed 250+ projects since 2016, across Ethereum and 120+ EVM networks, Solana, and Cardano. We've built and maintained production contracts alongside Chainlink, MakerDAO, The Graph, Safe, Aave, and the Ethereum Foundation.
