I'm the head of ecosystem at QuickSwap, a multichain DeFi platform that lets users trade tokens, provide liquidity, earn yield, and access onchain financial products through one interface.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Protofire?

We were looking to expand QuickSwap’s development capacity while also accelerating third-party integrations and new product development. Protofire has helped us scale our engineering resources without needing to build everything internally, while bringing strong experience across smart contracts, frontend development and DeFi infrastructure. The relationship also goes beyond outsourced development. We are exploring opportunities to integrate Protofire’s own and partner products and infrastructure into QuickSwap where there is a strong fit, making the partnership valuable both from a development and product-integration perspective.

What was the scope of their involvement?

QuickSwap has worked with Protofire across a number of development initiatives, with the Strategy Hub being one of the key projects delivered to date. Protofire’s involvement has been broad, covering additional development capacity, smart contract development, frontend work, and support for third-party integrations across the QuickSwap ecosystem.

They have worked with us on specific products such as the Strategy Hub, while also supporting wider technical initiatives as they arise. Alongside development work, we are also evaluating and pursuing opportunities to integrate Protofire-built products and infrastructure directly into QuickSwap. Their role is therefore broader than a single project or deliverable, and we see them as a technical partner that can support both product development and ecosystem expansion.

Protofire reached out to us directly and pitched a product. We chose them because they had high ratings, their pricing fit our budget, they had a great culture fit, they offered good value for the cost, and their company values aligned with ours.

We worked together from maybe April 2024 on an ongoing basis via different engagements

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The clearest evidence is in the products and integrations that have moved from concept into active development or production with Protofire’s support. The Strategy Hub is one tangible example, with Protofire contributing across both the smart contract and frontend layers to help bring the product to market. More broadly, the engagement has increased QuickSwap’s development capacity and allowed us to progress multiple initiatives in parallel without relying entirely on internal resources. We have also continued expanding the relationship into additional development work, third-party integrations, and potential integrations of Protofire’s own products. The fact that the scope of the partnership has continued to grow is itself a strong indicator of the value we have seen from the engagement. 

How did Protofire perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated via virtual meetings and emails or messaging appProtofire performed very well from a project management standpoint. Communication has been clear, responsive, and technically informed throughout the engagement. Renat in particular stands out because he genuinely understands the underlying technology, product mechanics, and DeFi considerations rather than simply managing timelines and deliverables. That makes discussions much more efficient, as he can understand the reasoning behind requirements, identify potential issues early, and help translate broader product goals into practical development work.s.  Beyond individual deliverables, we view Protofire as an ongoing technical partner and are actively exploring and working on additional opportunities together as QuickSwap continues to expand its product suite.

What did you find most impressive or unique about them?

What stands out most is the combination of strong technical depth with a genuine understanding of how DeFi products work in practice. Protofire does not feel like a traditional outsourced development team simply working through a specification; they understand the mechanics behind the products, can challenge or improve ideas where needed, and are comfortable operating across smart contracts, frontend development, integrations, and infrastructure. That makes the relationship feel much more like an extension of the QuickSwap team and a long-term technical partnership rather than engagement around a single project.
Our experience with Protofire has been very positive across the different initiatives we have worked on together. They have demonstrated strong technical capability across both smart contracts and frontend development, a good understanding of DeFi, and the ability to work effectively with our team from early-stage concepts through to production. The Strategy Hub is one example of that collaboration, but our relationship is broader than a single project. We are continuing to explore and work on additional initiatives with Protofire, which reflects our confidence in the team and the quality of the work delivered so far.

• Bring Dowsers' DSA analysis engine to one of the largest pools of Solidity developers by building free access into Solhint and launching it jointly, so more teams catch critical vulnerabilities before mainnet and gain an on-ramp toward formal verification.

Protofire integrated the Dowsers Static Analyzer API into Solhint, enabling every developer using the tool to automatically verify the security of their smart contracts.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Free DSA access opened to the Solhint developer community (tens of thousands of Solidity developers). The engine runs 500+ automated security checks across ERC-20 tokens, token standards, and DeFi protocols, returning results in seconds. Launched jointly across both companies' channels.

We needed help with web3 infrastructure and smart contract engineering.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Protofire partnered with us and successfully deployed Safe multisig infrastructure on our testnet to bring enterprise-grade security and asset management to our ecosystem. The team also provided documentation.
