I'm the Executive Director of a local non profit called Care Net Peninsula, a women's health clinic.

For what projects/services did your company hire Pro Look Media, and what were your goals?

We hired Pro Look Media to produce a 5 minute narrative video that tells the story of a client that was helped through our organization.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

The video was excellent and will be utilized as a great example of our work for years to come. The fundraising event that this debuted at was a huge success in part due to the incredible story of this video.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.

I had a client story that I wanted Pro Look Media to turn into a video that exemplified what we're about at our organization. I met with Will, worked out the concept. He and his team filmed on location and then edited the footage into a final copy.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

I worked directly with Will, the owner. We went through several rounds of revisions and he was patient, listened and was willing to make the requested changes. The finished product was awesome.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The result was an incredibly great video that is a touching, emotional example of our ministry. We used the video at a fundraising event that was a huge success and this video was a reason why.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Will communicated with me regularly. There were some delays getting revisions in but his wife just had a baby and he had some other unexpected challenges come his way. Ultimately we had a great product in time for our big event.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Will was able to make aggressive changes and revisions that captured my vision for the video. It's often hard for an artist to grasp the vision of a client but Pro Look did that. Also the video quality was outstanding. Footage and interviews were beautiful.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Overall we were very happy with the project. I do think there were some opportunities to improve with communication and timeliness, but we would, and plan, to hire Pro Look again.

ICM is a faith-based nonprofit that works with local churches around the world. I am the director of marketing for ICM.

For what projects/services did your company hire Pro Look Media?

We've worked with Pro Look Media on several projects over the last few years. This project was a 3-5 minute video inviting guests to register for an event. The video featured two of our executive leaders and various international video content. Pro Look did all of the production and post-production work on this project.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted a piece that would warmly and effectively invite our guests to register for the event - even in a time when live events are a challenging sell.

SOLUTION

How did you select Pro Look Media?

We've worked with Pro Look media and have found them to be responsive and great to work with. They are also a local company which we prefer for this type of production.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.

The Pro Look team planned and executed the video shoot. They then took the footage and edited it into the invitation video. They worked with us through a review/revision cycle and produced the final piece which we used in our invitation.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

The producer worked directly with us through the process primarily communicating via email and phone. Feedback was handled via cloud-posted review videos and emails.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We've had a good response to our first round of event invitations, and the video has been shared numerous times - indicating it is really hitting the mark with our target audience.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow with Pro Look Media was good. In particular, the PLM team handled working with our executives on the day of the shoot in an excellent fasion. Their whole crew was professional and polite.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

My favorite aspect of PLM is their responsiveness. I've asked them to do projects on short timelines and with challenging parameters before and they have always come through with a quality product.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I am really satisfied with the work PLM has done for us.

I’m the owner of a small business developing a workbook for business management.

What challenge were you trying to address with Pro Look Media?

They’re helping me bring the product to market through an introductory film.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

It was about 90 seconds long and it introduced what problems my workbook can solve in the context of a normal business operation. The video was somewhat scripted but was narrated. They were involved in hiring actors, finding a place to shoot, location scouting, and editing.

We started with a prep discussion and went over the details of what I was looking for. Then he asked for me to provide a script, but then he reviewed it. Then he started the actual design of the commercial. He laid it out on a storyboard and gave me timelines about when each part of the project would be completed. We discussed the design for the set as well.

What is the team composition?

I worked with Will (Founder) directly.

How did you come to work with Pro Look Media?

I found them through a Google search. I was choosing between Pro Look Media and another provider, but the other team didn’t return my call.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $1,500.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted from September–October 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I received a quality product on-time and at-cost. I’m very pleased with the result, and I hope that it helps me break through in the market and earn sales. They delivered exactly what we scoped together.

How did Pro Look Media perform from a project management standpoint?

They performed very well, and we communicated over email and phone. Will led me through the entire process and kept me involved. It was obvious that he was experienced in managing a project like this. He kept me abreast of all the decisions and allowed me to make changes. I was really happy with how he managed the process.

What did you find most impressive about them?

First, the quality of their work was the most impressive part of the project. Second of all, he had an eye for capturing details that will present well in the commercial. It was obvious that he had the necessary experience to present everything in the best light.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I was new to the process, so even though he explained everything well, I think communication could be a little more formal.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Trust the process. They have a record for producing great films, so trust the process.

I was formerly a customer development consultant for a health insurance company. I operated within the marketing department.

What challenge were you trying to address with Pro Look Media?

We wanted to create promotional video content. We wanted to highlight how our plans benefitted our members receiving healthcare.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The team lead attended one of our events, where we scouted out members to participate in a video interview. They came onsite and shot interviews with several members of varied health conditions for a comprehensive picture of our health benefits. They also shot some interviews with doctors that worked for our company, and these were posted on our social media.

What is the team composition?

I’d say that we worked with up to five people. They even organized a makeup artist to come out for the interviews.

How did you come to work with Pro Look Media?

Pro Look Media worked with another company that specializes in photo booths. We’d utilized that photo booth company for one of our events, and found that they shared their office building with Pro Look. We kept them in mind for whenever we needed video content.

How much have you invested with them?

There were several different shoots, but I know it was under $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted between March­–July 2018.

They did an excellent job. They were very flexible about coming to the event and onsite on short notice. They knew what they were doing.

They were great. The team was always on time.

Their creativity and attention to detail are outstanding.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of anything.

Just tell them what your needs are. Even if you don’t have a fleshed-out concept, they can help you develop that idea.

We are a marketing company, and we consult with individuals on ways to monetize the services they offer. I am the principal consultant.

What challenge were you trying to address with Pro Look Media?

Pro Look helps us with our marketing needs.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They created social media posts on Instagram and Facebook. They do updates for us through a project management tool called Freedcamp. They also do graphic design for us, and they built our website. They gave us an online presence that we didn't have before. We coordinate with them on visual and text content, which they create, even when we don't respond quickly. Occasionally, they respond to our social media posts.

They also did a commercial for us. They hired the actors, did voiceovers, and produced the whole thing. We've also gone into their offices for video shoots. They've offered to go back and redo videos when the results didn't fit our company's image.

What is the team composition?

We started working with a team of four or five, but we're working with a team of two now. Depending on the project, I'll work with their owner, a project manager, or a graphic designer.

How did you come to work with Pro Look Media?

We did some consulting for them before we started our business. After that collaboration, we decided they were the company we would use to help us launch.

How much have you invested with them?

The total cost is between $15,000-$20,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in summer 2018. We're in our second contract with them now, and their maintenance is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I did a Facebook ad campaign with the main video they produced. We only ran the ad for about a week, but we had about 5,000 hits on that 90-second video.

How did Pro Look Media perform from a project management standpoint?

They do very well with project management. I'm a home-school mom just starting a business, and they reached out to me, even if I wasn't available or when I couldn't keep up. They filled in all the gaps and delivered a stellar project. Most of our communication was through email or by phone.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They paid a lot of attention to detail, and they thought of things I hadn't even considered. They always made sure they had the right person for the job, even for complicated video projects.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I would like more strength in their copywriting ability. I'd like to use them more for that, but I feel that would stretch the company too much at this time.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Understand your requirements beforehand. If they have a question, find an example of the work you'd like to see. They will match the work to your budget, but make sure you're clear and upfront at the beginning.

I’m the associate director of digital strategy and content curation for William & Mary’s Raymond A. Mason School of Business.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Pro Look Media?

Instead of having prospective students sit through a lengthy information session, we wanted to provide a video alternative in order to be respectful of their time. We sought to convey the pertinent information in a more accommodating manner, so we decided to look for a video production partner.  

As the sole decision-maker, I was specifically seeking someone who had visionary storytelling capabilities, to not just craft and curate, but also, direct and produce an informational video for prospective students.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We first launched into the scripting stage which was a collaborative effort. We didn’t have a lot of preparation time before our shoot date, so the process was a combination of preparation and improvisation; they were great at reacting to different developments on the fly.

Will (Founder, Pro Look Media) helped coach the talent featured in our video, making them comfortable and giving them all of the queues needed to ensure we captured the content we needed. They filmed on location at our Peninsula Center (where our part-time/evening MBA program is hosted). They executed all of the post-production work as well in a timely and collaborative manner.

What is the team composition?

I primarily engaged with Will and his production assistant, but there were six in total on the day of the shoot.  

How did you come to work with Pro Look Media?

While our own organization has had quite a bit of turnover, they had worked with our previous team. I’d heard positive things, so I reached out to Will. I had a wonderful conversation with him and loved his vision. I sensed that it would be a good working relationship because of his ability to look beyond the client’s objective to create something truly special.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in April of 2019, and the project wrapped up in July.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’ve enjoyed higher engagement with the video, and have received positive reviews. People appreciate our respecting their time. We realize how busy our prospective students are and this alternative format for an information session provided the perfect solution. While we don’t have specific viewership metrics available, we’ve received great feedback from our interviewees and know that this was a much more progressive solution.

How did Pro Look Media perform from a project management standpoint?

They're very strong on that front. They know where their boundaries are and are communicative when they run into any problems. They’re collaborative, letting their client weigh in to ensure that they’ll deliver the perfect vision and end product.

I chatted with Will in his office for our collaborative sessions. He’s also available via text, email, and even by phone. My means of communication depended on the project stage and urgency of the request.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’d say their master-class storytelling. Pro Look is able to produce high-quality content tailored to a specific audience through visionary story-telling. They go beyond the product or service to look at what resonates at a human level - it's all about connecting. They’re capable of selling a product precisely because they’re able to tell the story that lies beyond it.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not really. I do not have any concerns about Pro Look Media. In this day and age everything can be faster, easier, and more omnipresent, but Will does a great job of maximizing scalability and resources depending on the project. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would urge them to come to the table with a vision of what you want to create. That self-knowledge will facilitate Will to tell your story in the best way possible.
