We have been working together with Primotly for a long time. The flexibility in how we have been able to set up our cooperation is very impressive. When we face new challenges along the line, we can always trust them. And it genuinely feels like we are facing them together.

It is hard to pinpoint any significant part in our cooperation that could be improved. The relationship between our companies is ongoing and ever-evolving - to handle a situation like that might be one of Primotly's biggest strengths.

Thanks to the solutions proposed by bPol, we have launched 16 paid courses with multiple chapters. Recently, thanks to bPol's efforts, we were able to introduce a new type of content - bundles. Their recommended solutions support our sales activities.

Activities on the part of bPol are always characterized by a high level of commitment and understanding of customer needs. We regularly met for weekly sprints, during which our project manager carefully explained all activities and discussed our needs. Contact with bPol is prompt. There is no unnecessary downtime. We had selected Sylius as our platform for eCommerce, and we went to market with a basic product portfolio with a simple and easy-to-use website. The idea was to make the fence buying process for the end customer as easy as possible. We coordinated with bPol with our high-level plans and then detailed the steps required to launch the website.

Over the 10 months period, our sales at an average of 10% per month and are expected to grow further.

We planned weekly calls with bPol to discuss the current development progress. The call included all the key stakeholder so we functioned as a team. All the tasks were planned on Microsoft Planner in our end and tickets were later created in JIRA by bPol.

We wanted to develop a new sales channel and sell B2C rather than just through our existing B2B channels. We needed to source partner that could build and host a webshop for us.

We reviewed a number of potential partners that we're previously known to us or recommended. We selected bPol as part of a mixed team approach with bPol providing the development expertise and another partner who would work on the design aspects. bPol presented a flexible approach and good reference cases of similar projects.

Original plan was to build the webshop using Prestashop, however based on new requirements and at bPol recommendation this was later changed to Sylius platform. We had a clear set of requirements that were agreed at the outset as our model was not a standard e-shop approach. The key deliverable was a working webshop that would be released to the market place.

The webshop is now live. Ongoing review and optimisation of the experience is underway following initial analysis of traffic and visits to the store.

At one stage of the project we were reliant on a single developer which meant work had to be prioritized based on bandwidth, this has now been addressed by additional resources.

I am the head of innovation and tech for a market research firm. We created a digital platform for virtual research which we use to test different strategies for our clients. We do market research, not by asking questions, but rather by measuring behavior or what people would do in a specific situation.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They are very committed and really put their effort in to make the product as good as they can. bPol works as if they were on the team; not serving just as consultants who want to solve something in the short term but really make something that will work in the long-term as well.

It's been a very good experience, and they have been very proactive in searching for improvements. They also bring up challenges to let us know what can be improved, helping us move forward.

How did bPol perform from a project management standpoint?

bPol works remotely, and we communicate with them via Microsoft (MS) Teams. The project manager we had previously helped us to structure the project. Now, we only work with developers, so project management is more on our side. 

The developers are really keen to make sure they are making progress and that they have enough work. If they don’t receive enough information, they are very proactive in bringing it up and highlighting the risk if we go forward with certain decisions.

They have been very willing to follow up. We have a weekly call with them to make sure that everything is going well and if there are any issues, they are very fast in proposing a solution that we can agree on together.

Starting out with an outsourced relationship can be challenging because it brings up communication challenges due to having the team work remotely and having people outside the business because they don’t know exactly what the pains of the business are. 

In this partnership and working together with bPol, we have understood how we can improve our process together. This is thanks to their feedback and their willingness to do things according to our needs, improving or changing the way that we define the scope of the project accordingly.

They are expert developers with very strong skills and great personalities. It isn’t just about the skills but also about caring enough to make it work and having a business orientation.

bPol works as a consultant for us, but they are really integrated into our tech team. We work really closely and have a strong partnership. We don’t just outsource work to them; they are a part of our tech team.

They could’ve given us more of a heads up at the beginning of the collaboration about what we as the client should think about for the project to be as successful as possible.

In general, they're open to receiving feedback from us when it comes to things that we feel can be improved or aren’t working well. In general, the main challenge when outsourcing is about the communication process and understanding the business.

Work with them because they are a good partner. Not only are they a supplier that will develop what you ask for, but they will also engage in any way they can to help you succeed.

We’re super happy with the work they’ve done. They’ve helped us deliver a pretty substantial project for our client and the process was seamless. Working with them felt like we had additional people onboarded to our team, so it was very helpful in completing the work. We’re using them for other projects, too. 

How did Unicornly perform from a project management standpoint?

Some of the work is remote, but they’re both in our offices and working remotely fully for the client. We work in scrums and two-week sprints. At the end of each sprint, there is a demo. They’re always available and solve any issue that arises very quickly. Our cities are nearby one another so we can meet often and they work closely with us.

They have fantastic communication skills and work as a true part of our team. Their help really augments our internal team’s efforts.

What challenge were you trying to address with Unicornly?

We needed a partner to create holistic, end-to-end software to manage the daily operations of a law firm.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They worked on the SaaS product that we needed help with. Our process was divided into a few stages, the first of which focused on consultation interviews, analysis, and workshops. They interviewed our customers to verify our assumptions about their needs and key pain points. We also analyzed the functionalities of competitive products and then they built our unique value proposition, creating a product vision document and a rough estimate of its delivery and implementation.

The second stage was a product discovery workshop, including UI mockups and detailed descriptions and a list of features to implement. We took into account the business’ value and estimated costs, then divided the tasks by importance and divided that into subsequent releases. The final phase was focused on delivery.

They introduced a scrum team of nine including a product owner, a UI/UX designer, two frontend developers, two backend developers, and a QA engineer. We were in contact with all of them.

The product launched and I think it’s the best in our domestic market. Thanks to Unicornly, we want to expand our application to the external market and continue our cooperation with them.

They’re a great tech partner for the long-run and can provide support not only in terms of technology but also on the business side of things too.

How did Unicornly perform from a project management standpoint?

They worked in weekly sprints, with no communication or cooperation problems. We use Slack, Jira, and in-person methods, planning each sprint together and then participating in daily standups in case we had any questions or issues arise.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The scrum methodology was impressive because I could see how the work was organized, and I was satisfied with it. The communication was very clear and swift.

There’s nothing to improve. Everything is excellent.
