Power BI Consulting Services

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the CTO of a real estate company. We offer direct property acquisition, value-add strategies, consultation, and brokerage services through The Agency to help clients optimize real estate investments.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Power BI Consulting Services?

We were running the business off spreadsheets I updated by hand. I wanted one place to see sales and transaction activity, how individual properties were performing, where our leads were coming from, and the financial side — revenue, commissions, and expenses — without rebuilding a report every time I needed to look at something.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Power BI Consulting Services has built Power BI dashboards for us covering four areas: sales and transaction activity, property and investment performance, marketing and lead sources, and the financials — revenue, commissions, and expenses. The work has been ongoing rather than a one-off project.

Moreover, they've handled connecting the data sources and the setup, not just the dashboard layer on top. That mattered for us because the data was spread across spreadsheets and different systems before they came in.

What is the team composition?

We've worked with 2–5 teammates from Power BI Consulting Services.

How did you come to work with Power BI Consulting Services?

They were referred to me. I chose them over other options because they had high ratings, their pricing fit our budget, they had a great culture fit, they offered good value for the cost, and their company values aligned with ours.

How much have you invested with them?

We've spent around $10,000–$49,999.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in December 2025, and our engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The clearest outcome is that I'm not rebuilding reports by hand anymore. We were running off spreadsheets I updated manually, and now the numbers stay current across sales and transaction activity, property performance, lead sources, and the financials without me maintaining any of it. I don't have a precise hours figure, but it removed a recurring manual job from my week, and I can check where the business stands whenever I want instead of waiting until I'd rebuilt the report.

Moreover, having everything in one place is a great result. Sales activity, property performance, lead sources, and the financials used to live in different spreadsheets and systems, so getting a full picture meant pulling from several of them. Now, it's one view. I wouldn't claim anything more dramatic than that — it's made the information much easier to get at rather than changed how we run the business.

How did Power BI Consulting Services perform from a project management standpoint?

They've delivered on time and are responsive when I need something. It's an ongoing arrangement rather than a fixed-deadline project, so it's less about hitting milestones and more about them being available and turning things around when I ask — which they have been.

We communicate via virtual meetings, email, and messages.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I'm impressed that they've taken on the data side as well as the dashboards. A lot of people will build you a nice-looking report on top of data you've already sorted out yourself. Our data was scattered across spreadsheets and separate systems, and the work of connecting all that was the harder half of the job. Power BI Consulting Services has handled it, which is why the dashboards actually stay current instead of needing me to feed them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

More documentation would help. I know the dashboards work and what they show, but I don't have much written down about how they're put together underneath. If I ever needed someone else to pick it up or wanted to extend it myself, I'd be relying on going back to them. More handover material would make me less dependent on that.

BACKGROUND

I’m a property manager at S&N Investment Properties, a real estate and property services company offering residential property rentals, professional cleaning, painting, and maintenance services.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Power BI Consulting Services?

Our primary goal was to gain clear, real-time insights into our financial performance. We hired Power BI Consulting Services to consolidate our property management and financial data into interactive Power BI dashboards, allowing us to accurately track revenue, ROI, operational costs, and overall asset performance.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Power BI Consulting Services has handled the end-to-end data integration and dashboard design for our real estate portfolio. They’ve connected our financial and property management data sources to build custom, interactive Power BI dashboards. Key deliverables include financial performance reports, ROI tracking tools, rental income and expense breakdowns, and operational metrics dashboards. They’ve also provided user training to ensure our team can navigate and utilize the reports effectively.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with 2–5 teammates from Power BI Consulting Services.

How did you come to work with Power BI Consulting Services?

We found them through an online search. We chose them because they had high ratings, were close to our geographic location, had pricing that fit our budget, had a great culture fit, offered good value for the cost, were referred to me, and had company values aligned with ours.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $10,000–$50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2026, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The project has led to significant improvements in our reporting speed and financial visibility. By automating our data pipelines into Power BI, we’ve reduced our monthly financial reporting time by over 50%. We now have real-time visibility into property-level ROI, occupancy rates, and cash flow, which has allowed our leadership team to identify underperforming assets faster and make data-driven investment decisions. Before working with Power BI Consulting Services, compiling our monthly financial and portfolio reports manually took roughly 15–20 hours. With automated dashboards, that time has been reduced to under two hours per month — representing an 80%–90% reduction in reporting overhead. Moreover, having real-time access has fundamentally improved our decision-making agility. Instead of waiting until the month’s end to review numbers, we can immediately spot underperforming units, track rising maintenance costs, and adjust rental rates based on current market dynamics. This visibility has allowed us to optimize cash flow, reallocate resources faster, and improve overall ROI across our real estate portfolio.

How did Power BI Consulting Services perform from a project management standpoint?

Power BI Consulting Services’ project management is highly effective, collaborative, and strictly delivers on time. Instead of working in isolation and delivering a massive deployment at the end, they use a very agile, incremental approach. This allows us to see continuous progress, test deliverables as they’re built, and easily redirect requirements whenever necessary.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What stands out most is their highly iterative, transparent approach. Rather than disappearing for weeks and presenting a finished product at the end, they work closely with our team in short sprints. Showing us real-time, incremental progress allows us to refine dashboard features on the fly, ensuring the final product perfectly aligns with our business needs.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, nothing stands out. Their team is highly responsive, adaptable, and delivers strong results throughout the project. We’re very satisfied with their service.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from March 2026.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The key measurable outcome was the successful completion and delivery of the Power BI reports and dashboards. The solution gave us improved access to centralized, visual reporting, allowing users to more easily analyze key business data, monitor performance, and reduce reliance on manual reporting processes. Following the migration, the Power BI reports improved confidence in data accuracy through comprehensive data validation and reconciliation.
Key reports and metrics were verified against source data to ensure the migrated information was complete, consistent, and accurately represented in the new reporting environment.
While exact time savings were difficult to quantify, the Power BI solution significantly reduced the effort required to access and analyze reporting data. Business Central made it difficult to pull the exact reports needed, and the new dashboards provided a faster, more direct way to access and review the relevant financial information.

How did Power BI Consulting Services perform from a project management standpoint?

Power BI Consulting Services managed the project well and delivered the work within the expected timeframe overall. There were a few minor delays caused by internal issues on our side, but they remained responsive, flexible, and kept the project moving forward. We communicated via virtual meetings, emails, and messaging apps.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What stood out most was their agility and effective communication. The team was responsive, adaptable to changing needs, and kept us informed throughout the project, which made the engagement feel collaborative and efficient.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There was nothing significant we would change. If anything, more upfront clarity around project dependencies and potential internal blockers could have helped reduce a few delays. Overall, the team was flexible, communicative, and responsive throughout the engagement.
