I needed a brand logo designed to support a set of merchandise for a group outing.

How did you select this vendor?

I've been fortunate to have Robbie and Popart Films LLC work on my team in the past, so it was a no-brainer to reach out and ask to lend his creative design genius to our project.

Describe the scope of their work in detail, including any steps and the final deliverables.

I provided an initial concept book with inspirational visuals and a set of key requirements. Robbie followed with a set of clarifying questions, after which he produced a draft brand and logo. As usual, Robbie's first draft was spot-on and only required one small revision, which Robbie turned around in under a day.

I worked directly with the head of Popart Films, LLC.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The visual design created by Popart Films was used in a set of merchandise (hats, plaque, patches) that became must-have collectors' items for the special occasion.

We used Slack for ongoing design conversations and file transfers.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The creative genius and design. Their production skill set was unmatched.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

As PopArt Films expands and grows, I likely no longer be able to afford their services - they're that good.

At the time of this project, I worked as the CMO for a call center outsourcing company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Popart Films LLC?

We wanted to increase our brand relevance and awareness, so we needed help with creating engaging content that not only promotes our services but also establishes ourselves as a knowledgeable brand.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We had an interesting idea to do a puppet musical to tell our brand story. We shared this with Popart Films LLC and held a creative brainstorming session together to finalize the story that we wanted to tell and how they could execute it. From there, they led the entire production process, from writing the music and creating 3D renderings to coordinating with actors. Their team also helped write the script, provided the equipment, and handled the video audio mixing and video auditing. The video was used on our company website, and social media channels, including LinkedIn and YouTube.

We worked directly with their founder, who acted as our main point of contact.

We found out about them through their founder, who was already working at our company as part of the talent team.

How much have you invested with them?

It was probably around $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together on this project from February–April 2019.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The video turned out great and was very unique. It got approximately a million views and helped our company win all sorts of awards within the marketing industry, which was really cool. The video also served as a cornerstone of our marketing campaigns. We used it to shape the way our sales team was selling our services. Moreover, the designs of our marketing materials at conferences were all associated with the video.

Overall, this collaboration with Popart Films LLC was a huge success, and the video we put together really helped us sell our services.

How did Popart Films LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

They always met deadlines and stayed on budget. We used a tool called Wrike for project management. We spoke through emails and phone calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their creativity was outstanding — they brought a lot of fresh ideas and turned a rough idea into a great product.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, they nailed everything right and did exactly what they were hired to do.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Instead of just telling them what you need and what to do, involve them in the creative process. They can really bring a lot of great ideas to the table.

I'm the VP of Learning Design and Development. We create custom, media-rich learning experiences for our internal organization and for our clients.

For what projects/services did your company hire Popart Films LLC, and what were your goals?

Our topic is conceptual, so we wanted to create a memorable and engaging animation that would tell a story about self-awareness and note the differences between being self-aware and being self-conscious. Additionally, Pop Art Films LLC has helped us before on numerous occasions to create engaging media that instructs and delights and helps individuals remember/recall the lessons in context.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

The deciding factor in hiring PopArt Films is quality--the quality of the final product is amazing and beyond what I had imagined it would be....AND so were the individuals you get to work with! Their focus, attention and commitment to creating a final product and their communication throughout the entire process was above and beyond.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.

With this project we started with a discovery meeting. PopArt Films worked with us to appreciatively understand what we were trying to communicate but also went beyond to understand the context of the learner and how and when they would experience this animation and the lesson in which it occurred. They reviewed our script and provided input, storyboarded the media so that we could see what they were seeing. The storyboards alone were awesome. Then they found and recorded voice over talent and we reviewed that too. Finally they created the media and provided low, medium and hi-res versions of the files for our different needs.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

We worked with creative director Robbie C. who outlined the project and provided an overview to process--noting key times for our input. He was super customer focused noting and took care to make sure that we had early input and input throughout that was planned for. They shared all of their work as they went along which allowed us to comment and have direct input and see it come together. I can't say enough good things about this process and about the level of skill and care from Robbie.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our animation and the additional videos that go with this animation were a huge part of the success of our program. This media is currently being used in several of our products around the globe and is a key part of our sales presentations to WOW our clients. So a word about that....There is often an expected level of quality with these types of projects but with PopArt films you come to appreciate an entirely higher level of quality that is crafted into the final product, the process and the people you get to work with.

There are people who are just naturally gifted and there are people who work really hard at their craft to become a true master...with Robbie you have both plus an amazing detail orientation and friendly demeanor that makes the entire process enjoyable.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

As project owner, Robbie, was very easy to communicate with. He provided frequent updates and coaching. He often educated us on cost benefit tradeoffs and provided alternatives that were really great. If something needed to change, which is often the case at our organization, we would let him know and likewise he would let us know if there was a better way to visually achieve our goals.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their ability to create engaging stories and the technical capability and expertise to make it all flawless was amazing!

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I honestly cannot think of anything they could have done differently. The product, people and process were amazing.
