Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m VP of communications at Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA), an organization dedicated to establishing an efficient, profitable, and sustainable high-technology global ecosystem encompassing semiconductors, software, solutions, systems, and services.

A leading industry organization that represents 300+ corporate members on six continents, including more than 120 public companies, GSA provides a unique, neutral platform for collaboration, where global executives interface and innovate with peers, partners, and customers to accelerate industry growth and maximize ROI and intellectual capital. Members of the GSA represent 70% of the $500 billion semiconductor industry and continue to grow.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Planet Productions?

We hired Planet Productions to create videos and assist us with stage presence for an annual awards celebration we host.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We let them know that we need a video on a particular person or topic and give them a brief outline of what we’re looking to achieve. They work on both animated and live films for us; they also conduct video interviews. Planet Productions provides their own equipment and is responsible for audio mixing and all video editing. 

What is the team composition?

We work with Brian (Creative Director), Tyler (Production Manager), and Ian (Editor). Our team normally consists of about 4–6 people in total. 

How did you come to work with Planet Productions?

They’ve been here as long as I have, so I don’t know the answer to that. 

How much have you invested with them?

The last project we worked on was around $500,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in June 2010, and the engagement is ongoing; we use them yearly.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The videos are posted on our website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn, and we always receive very positive feedback. They are our go-to when it comes to big events and stage productions. 

How did Planet Productions perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re phenomenal communicators; we meet in person, over Zoom, and make phone calls. They always stay within budget and meet deadlines. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They provide high-end work. We recommend them to other companies because they’re phenomenal. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s nothing we can come up with.
