BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the marketing director of a medical device company. We manufacture and sell orthopedic devices for the pediatric population.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Picture Time?

We needed a high-quality video that discussed the treatment of scoliosis, our new procedure, and how that fits into the treatment continuum, as well as highlight some of the key aspects of the procedure.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Picture Time produced two videos for us. We didn’t script the video, but we featured questions and discussion topics in the video, and Picture Time actually moderated the interview. They did all of the post-production and editing. We also had a video filmed of surgery by another means and they helped us cut that video down to one hour and nine minutes.

What is the team composition?

Jeff (Chief Story Teller) was our main point of contact.

How did you come to work with Picture Time?

I worked with Picture Time in the past at a previous company and I chose them because they produce really good content. They’re also very economical and, since they’re a one-person show, they’re easy to interact with.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested less than $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from November 2020–January 2021.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They delivered the videos on time and within budget. We got great feedback from both of the surgeons that viewed the videos and they were very happy with it. The organization is also very happy with the videos as well.

How did Picture Time perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated through email or phone calls and we had to align schedules with Jeff to be able to get someone over to see the surgeon. From there, it was more just about laying out a timeline. After we received the raw footage, I’d go through it and make suggestions. It was usually a two-day turnaround after that in terms of them getting the edits done.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Jeff is just a really good guy and he does extremely well at making people feel comfortable on camera, which is an uncomfortable experience for a lot of people to sit there with a camera and microphone.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there’s nothing and I’ve worked with them numerous times.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Listen to Jeff because he is a professional and this is what he does for a living. Sit back and make sure that he can explain why he built a story in a certain way.
