Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

We worked with PALTA TECH for almost six years on various IoT projects. They were basically an extension of our engineering team, mainly handling embedded firmware development and some hardware design. 

Over the years, they worked on several of our products, developing firmware from scratch, improving existing firmware, helping with hardware design, and troubleshooting technical issues. They worked with a wide range of technologies, including LoRaWAN using Semtech chipsets, Nordic nRF for BLE, Zephyr RTOS, Quectel cellular modules, and u-blox GPS modules. Some of the products they helped us develop include multi-antenna BLE gateways, LoRaWAN-based RTLS tracking devices and hubs, gateways for smart toolboxes, telematics devices, and battery-powered GPS trackers. A lot of their work involved low-power, battery-operated sensors and tracking devices, where power consumption, reliability, and wireless communication were important considerations.

They were also involved in architecture and design discussions, helping us figure out the best technical approach to different problems. Their deliverables included firmware, hardware designs, prototypes, and ongoing support for products already deployed in the field

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Over the years, PALTA TECH helped us develop several IoT products that we successfully brought to market and deployed with our customers, including Fortune 500 companies. Their engineering work was an important part of our ability to deliver these solutions and generate revenue from them. 

Several of the products they worked on went from initial concepts to actual production devices deployed in the field. They helped us turn ideas and customer requirements into working products that we could sell and support.

We don’t have specific performance metrics to share since they worked across multiple projects over the years, but the biggest measure of success for us is that their work contributed directly to real products, real customer deployments, and revenue for our business.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

PALTA TECH was always very reliable when it came to deadlines. Even when we gave them extremely tight timelines, sometimes honestly unrealistic ones, they always found a way to get their part done. 

There were many occasions when we had urgent customer deadlines and their team went above and beyond to help us meet them. They worked late hours, weekends, and put in whatever extra effort was needed to make sure we could deliver to our customers. We really appreciated that level of commitment.

Maxi managed his team well, and communication was always straightforward. Whenever we had an issue or needed something urgently, we could reach out and work through it together. They were also good at raising technical concerns rather than just agreeing to everything, which I think is important when developing complex products.

Overall, they were very dependable, and we always felt we could count on them when things got difficult. They were extremely dependable when it came to deadlines. Even when we gave them very aggressive timelines, they consistently delivered their part on time. There were many occasions when they worked late nights or weekends to help us meet important customer deadlines. I think we got great value from working with PALTA TECH. Their technical expertise and the quality of their work made them a valuable partner for us over the years. They helped us develop products that we were able to bring to market and generate revenue from, so the investment was definitely worth it.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What impressed me most was their technical knowledge and how seriously they take engineering quality. They have a very strong understanding of embedded systems, low-level programming, memory management, and firmware architecture. When it comes to solving complex technical problems, they really know what they’re doing. 

They also take a lot of pride in their code. They have high standards for coding practices, code reviews, testing, and how firmware is developed and released. They’re very disciplined about following proper processes and making sure things are done correctly rather than just finding a quick solution that works for now.

Another thing I really appreciated is that they’re not afraid to challenge our ideas or suggest a better approach. They genuinely care about building reliable products, and you can tell that engineering quality is important to them. That’s something I’ve always respected about Maxi and his team. Their technical expertise is excellent, especially in embedded firmware development. They take pride in their work, follow high coding standards, and put a lot of effort into making sure the solutions they develop are reliable and maintainable. We had a great experience working with PALTA TECH over nearly six years. They became an important part of our engineering team and helped us develop several successful products. I have a lot of respect for Maxi and his team and would definitely recommend them.

Are there any areas for improvement or something PALTA TECH SA could have done differently?

If I had to point out one area for improvement, it would probably be finding a better balance between their very structured engineering approach and the need to move quickly in a fast-changing environment like ours.

They have strong opinions about how things should be developed and are very disciplined about following their processes. Sometimes this led to longer technical discussions than we initially expected, especially when we needed to make decisions quickly. 

That being said, I always respected their approach because it came from wanting to build things properly and avoid problems down the road. Looking back, I think having that perspective on our team was very valuable. I would absolutely recommend Maxi and his team to anyone looking for experienced embedded firmware and hardware engineers. They know their stuff, take their work seriously, and genuinely care about delivering good results. After working with them for almost six years, I have a lot of respect for their technical abilities and the way they approach engineering.
