Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm director of business development for a well-established custom software development company. We’re one of the best among IoT solutions developers with world-famous customers.

For what projects/services did your company hire OpenLedger?

One of our big customers asked us to develop a blockchain-based exchange platform for tea trading. We don't have blockchain expertise in-house, so we needed to hire an external resource to help us develop this platform.

What were your goals for this project?

Our main goal was to complete the blockchain part of the project on time and under budget.

How did you select this vendor?

We identified a few vendors through market research. However, due diligence revealed they were a poor fit for the skills and expertise we needed. Our friends at another company told us about their positive experience with OpenLedger. We learned about their strong blockchain-based technical team and decided they were the best team for this custom software development.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

OpenLedger developed a blockchain platform that covers the full scope of operations, including contracts, payments, and documents. The full-scale and detailed web interface gathers all the market participants under the “hood” of the platform.

What was the team composition?

We worked with a solution architect, a team lead, three blockchain developers, a project manager, and two QA resources.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

OpenLedger successfully built the complicated tea trading process on blockchain. They helped us complete the project as a part of our team.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Their project manager was pretty good, always responsive and attentive to details. There were some minor issues impacting cooperation between our teams, but they were resolved almost immediately.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

OpenLedger is truly capable of developing and delivering complex blockchain based software. There are so many companies on the market that claim to have this expertise but in fact can’t back up their words with actions.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Overall, it was all good. They probably could add more consulting during the project since blockchain development is so specific.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a representative of a German company that is developing a new generation of cryptography. Our first product, for the B2C market, is a secure communication network based on blockchain. We plan to start a second stage for the B2B market, machine-to-machine, and IoT sectors.

What challenge were you trying to address with OpenLedger?

They advised and assisted us during our initial coin offering (ICO) one year ago, in 2017. We had a crowdfunding stage, and then they handled most of the blockchain development.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They work on blockchain development for a decentralized cryptocurrency exchange. Our token is issued in the platform and is then available on an open network. We’ve also established exchange gateways between our network and others.

We’ve also contacted them for marketing, and advisory services too.

What is the team composition?

There are around three people from their team.

How did you come to work with OpenLedger?

We’ve worked with them since day one.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in July 2017, with our ICO crowdfunding campaign. They’re still our strategic partner, but the development is being done on our side.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The quality was really good, and we got the results we wanted. They delivered a well-developed and reliable blockchain platform that matches our technology requirements.

How did OpenLedger perform from a project management standpoint?

Most of the development deliverables were provided on time and according to the designs. We worked with complex technology, including a new generation of cryptography.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The level of service provided for the price impressed me. They’re not cheap, but the price is optimal for the quality of the service.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

They’re a reputable company. We’ve been working with them for a year and a half and, during that time, they’ve shown themselves to be highly professional and responsible, with good management. Their CEO, in particular, is an honest person, accountable to his obligations. I recommend them to people looking for quality solutions.
