Omniscient Digital was AppSumo's SEO and content strategy partner for two years. The work covered bi-weekly strategy calls, a category page build-out targeting high-intent software keywords, a content campaign framework for building topical authority, guidance on a subdomain-to-subfolder migration, and ongoing keyword and performance analysis.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Over two years, AppSumo went from most tracked keywords buried on page 4+ to a solid chunk sitting on pages 1–3. Specific wins included "airtable alternatives" hitting position 1 and "graphic design software" (6,200 monthly searches) breaking into the top 10 after content refreshes. Omniscient also mapped out a path to grow monthly blog traffic 35% to around 118,000 visits by focusing on two content categories.

David and the Omniscient team were always on top of it. Every check-in came with a prepared deck of backlink updates, keyword callouts, ranking movements, and action items. They flagged opportunities proactively, sent written memos between calls, and kept deliverables on schedule.

We needed support to improve our organic search visibility and drive more qualified traffic to our website, with the ultimate goal of increasing conversions.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Omniscient Digital supported us with content strategy and international SEO. Regarding content, we had reached a point where it was difficult to identify new topics that could drive visibility. The team conducted research and developed a six-month content roadmap, including detailed briefs for each topic, which our team used to create content.In a later phase, Omniscient Digital also supported us with international SEO by assisting with content translation efforts and providing briefs for localized content in different regions.

We needed to improve our SEO and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) visibility, support our initiatives, and ideate new things we could be doing. We also needed to improve our backlink profile with good-quality links and support our content creation.

Omniscient Digital has been building backlinks, conducting website technical audits, monitoring and optimizing AEO, creating content briefs for blogs and landing pages, and experimenting with new SEO tactics.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

In six months, our DR has gone from 52 to 60, our search impressions have tripled, and the amount of keywords we now rank in the top three has increased 10x. Additionally, our LLM visibility has improved, and all of this translates into a solid pipeline from SEO as a marketing channel. Overall, organic is our second source of pipeline and ARR, after direct traffic. The position of organic and the monetary value of the channel dropped when AI overviews were launched, but now the position has recovered and is back to second place, as it used to be before.

They’re mostly on time and within their provided estimates. We communicate via virtual meetings, emails, and messaging apps.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their level of industry expertise, experimental approach, and the quality of the deliverables are impressive. When picking them versus another agency, I looked at some examples of work they did for another client and thought, “This is exactly how I approach it in-house, and I spend a lot of time doing it on my own. Now, I can safely delegate it without worrying about the quality drop or strategic misalignment.”

Are there any areas they could improve?

The price can be a bit steep, but I know what we’re paying for. Additionally, sometimes the delivery turnaround estimates are longer than I’d like them to be. We’re a startup and move fast, and Omniscient Digital is an established agency, so we’re not their only client. However, that’s a trade-off I’m okay with considering the quality of their services.
