Non zero was engaged to support our research organization - operating in the social sector and focused on worker wellbeing within large, labor intensive industries - by visually communicating the impact of six key research projects. Their role involved translating our written narrative, data, and scripts into engaging 90-second videos that highlighted both the process and outcomes of each initiative. The work was carried out through a collaboarative, co-creative approach combining our research and communication expertise with their design and storytelling capabilities.

Key deliverables:

• 6 videos each showcasing a distinct research project
• Visual storytelling 
• Iterative collaboration throughout scripting and storytelling to ensure alignment with our goals and messaging 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

• All 6 videos were appreciated by our stakeholders 
• In total, the videos got more than 10K views on YouTube though the per video views were variable

• The team was punctual and forthright in their communication.
• All items were delivered on time to our satisfaction 
• We went through a steep learning curve in understanding each others approach but the result was commendable

In the spirit that we all have areas for improvement, Non Zero does too but this platform is perhaps not my first choice as a medium for this message.

• We had Non Zero for branding revamp and website development. The main objective of the idenity revamp and website was to drive attention and awareness to an existing problem without alienating the current stakeholders. As a part of the same drive, Non Zero also ideated and exeucted a video project to supplement the revamp.

1. Identity & Branding Refresh : Custom illustrations that help vizualize the scale of the problem that’s being solved along with Revamped the typography (designed a secondary Devanagari mark to stay true to Malba Project’s roots!). This was accompanied by a seamless visual identity that can adapt to both social platforms and business contexts.
2. Video Project : They redefined how we present our work and our shared passion to the world in a manner fit to mirror our commendable work
3. Website Revamp : Prioritised scrollyteling in the redesign.

What challenge were you trying to address with Non Zero Design?

 We needed help with the design of our products' interfaces, some of which were digital and some of which weren't.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Non Zero Design has worked on multiple projects for us. The team has taken a body of research and created a design strategy based on that. Non Zero Design has also worked on UI documentation for developers. The team has created beautiful decks, strong strategic documents, and Figma files that are perfectly on point.

What is the team composition?

We've worked with five teammates from Non Zero Design.

How did you come to work with Non Zero Design?

I received a referral from a fellow UX manager friend who had worked with Non Zero Design for years. The team came with a glowing recommendation for embedded UI design, which can be a niche and challenging industry from a documentation standpoint.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in August 2024, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Non Zero Design has been able to transform data into design and create prototypes and designs that test well with customers in qualitative research. We've received qualitative feedback from customers regarding the prototypes and designs, which are delightful and easy to use.

How did Non Zero Design perform from a project management standpoint?

Non Zero Design's project management and communication are exceptional. We communicate via video calls, Slack, and email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Non Zero Design communicates well and is extremely thorough. Their designers ask thoughtful questions around edge cases.

We needed support with brand identity and website development.

Non Zero Design has handled end-to-end brand identity and website development. The team has presented the work at each stage and kept refining it until they hit the spot.

We’ve worked with 4–6 teammates from Non Zero Design.

We found Non Zero Design on Instagram. I had seen their previous work and vibed with their aesthetic and branding principles.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve worked with Non Zero Design twice. The first project lasted from May–June 2024. We’re currently working on the second project, which started in May 2025 and is almost near completion.

Non Zero Design has a strong grasp of our company’s philosophy, which drives our identity. The work has helped us position ourselves as a global innovation powerhouse with a strong patient-centric approach.

Non Zero Design’s project management has been great. The team is very proactive and delivers on time. We communicate via WhatsApp, calls, and Google Meet.
