BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the marketing manager of Tetra Defense, a cybersecurity firm headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Nomad SEO?

We required Nomad SEO’s help setting up our website and ensuring that it was completely optimized.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Nomad SEO built our website from the ground up, and they increased our traffic over the last two years. Initially, my supervisor had the first calls to kickstart a rebranding project, which was their first task. After six months, it was just me and them who continued with the web development project.

Once our website was up and running, Nomad SEO set up all of our other social media channels, and they connected our website to all of the other goals we were tracking. After that, they helped us create content to keep our presence sustainable — they had great resources for content and content creation. Additionally, they did a lot of keyword research in our industry.

What is the team composition?

I worked with Alexander (Owner & SEO Consultant) and Brandon (Co-Founder), who was an excellent outside media specialist. It was Brandon’s responsibility to build links and strengthen our relationship with other websites in our industry.

How did you come to work with Nomad SEO?

I believe we met Nomad SEO through a referral, but I wasn't involved in that process.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between $15,000–$20,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around November 2019. Unfortunately, our relationship ended because our company got acquired in late January 2022. However, I would definitely hire them again because they helped us a lot.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We never required our site to generate leads for us. Still, Nomad SEO was able to double our website traffic during our time together. Thanks to their great keyword research and guidance on the content, that result was possible.

Another successful part of our engagement was the really helpful external media outlet opportunities. Brandon was very responsive in that sense, and he offered at least four opportunities per week for us to exchange links with different websites to get our name out there.

Finally, Nomad SEO had really skilled researchers, and their SEO implementation was really helpful as well. A lot of the pages where we were able to implement the changes they suggested were ranking on the first or second page of Google search results within weeks.

We weren’t using Nomad SEO to create lead generation opportunities, for which they're highly skilled; we had them doing other things, and they still completely knocked it out of the park with those projects.

How did Nomad SEO perform from a project management standpoint?

I would rate Nomad SEO’s project management 10/10. We had a one-hour monthly meeting on Zoom with them to review the website traffic and how well certain things were performing. They were very good at getting into the more important aspects of website health.

Overall, Nomad SEO was very easy to communicate with. Apart from our Zoom meetings, we used Trello briefly, but we didn’t really require much visibility into the projects they were working on. Month by month, they were able to tell us what they were working on very clearly, and a lot of progress was made from both sides in between meetings.

We also had them integrated into our Slack, and we had very good communication via email. Another great aspect was that we actually integrated them into our outlook email service, so our external media opportunities were able to come from our own domain name.

Towards the end of our engagement, Nomad SEO was actually suggesting extra content help since our teammates on Tetra Defense became very busy to keep writing our blogs. They were really proactive in suggesting that kind of help outside their scope.

Additionally, they were always very clear about expectations. Our projects were always successful, and their timing was great.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Nomad SEO was very flexible, and they adapted very well to difficult situations and complex projects — I would highly recommend them for that. The cybersecurity industry changes rapidly, and everyone is trying to figure out what will work best next, who to reach, what are the most catastrophic cybersecurity incidents, and more. I had Nomad SEO researching all that areas, and every month, they gave me very good insights that were used for our marketing strategy.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. Although we didn’t use Nomad SEO for lead generation, which is their specialty, they always gave us helpful feedback on every project that we gave them. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Having your goals clearly outlined will definitely help Nomad SEO take your project further.
