I’m the CIO of a car insurance company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Semantive?

We were looking for a partner that could source the specialists we needed.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They provide us with resources who work with us in developing our main IT system. They specialize in Scala, which is our main programming language. We also use Angular and Typescript.

They source us with programmers, analysts, and system architects. They work with our team on our core system. Additionally, they have pursued smaller projects, like programming a real physical device. 

We also started a proof of concept (POC) in the area of machine learning. They developed a model to predict the price before we quote. Now we’re evaluating the results on how this can be used in our business.

We tried three or four companies. Semantive provided far better specialists. Their prices were better than their competitors as well. They were the best fit for us.

We started working together in 2014 and the work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We were happy with every specialist they provided and the quality of their work. They’ve developed bug-free code that works perfectly and our customers are using the software they developed.

How did Semantive perform from a project management standpoint?

We manage the project on our side. They all work outside our office. We use Google Hangouts daily and meet in person every two weeks. There haven’t been any flaws.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was really happy with their agility and adaptability to our needs.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

The scope was to deliver fully integrated with our software platform. An analytics application which had to be adjusted to the specific environment in which it would be used. The project assumed the delivery of product for acceptance tests and afterwards the final product. Noctuai has performed a dedicated AI model retraining using real and synthetic data which has passed our rigorous analytics quality testing on data from real scenery. The special GUI was developed according to our requirements and integrated into our solution. Noctuai platform to deliver analytics also passed our acceptance testing in terms of operational stability, performance on various hardware platforms and cybersecurity. All parameters met or significantly exceeded the defined requirements.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The delivered solution meets the requirements we have defined. The entire process went very smoothly, the solution was ready to be made available to customers within agreed and expected timeline.

Open, friendly and professional communication via Email and virtual calls. Project management at a very high level with constant mutual dialogue and transparency regarding progress. Challenges and obstacles identified as we progressed was managed in a professional manner during project execution.

Highly skilled in the AI scene with good understanding of how to implement and make it work in our application infrastructure.

A few changes in the people who was allocated to the project, but was all managed and didn't impact deadlines or quality.
