We are a pre-revenue & pre-product start-up, and we engaged Neuralle to develop an app store and digital marketing strategy. They conducted a review of competitors in the market and determined how to position our product for launch. They also advised on how to build a presence in a market that is highly saturated.

We shortlisted a few agencies and Neuralle were a stand out. Their deliverables were clear and professional obvious.

They conducted a competitor review, then developed a strategy to differentiate ourselves, which produced a USP. The content strategy outlined clear targets and ways to reach our target audience and create a movement. They also produced keywords for app store optimization. All of this work was delivered pre product launch.

The app was approved by the App Store and Play Store, with utlizing the advice from Neuralle, this was an achievment.

We utilized Slack as the main comms channel, this worked well.

Very professional and they have a broad skill set that helped them deliver a range of services.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

They could have been on the front foot a little more and perhaps removed some jargon from their language.

We wanted a video that conveyed our team culture for the purpose of recruiting, onboarding, and enhancing our brand by letting our customers know who we are and what we're like.

How did you select this vendor?

Jordan, the founder, has experience in financial markets, which is our target market. So, he understands our customers and services. But also, Jordan and the team have proven their abilities to produce, distribute and promote high quality content by running the UnCommon Podcast. You can tell from listening, that they have the skills, discipline and passion required to engage a community.

Describe the scope of their work in detail.

A video was to be produced from a collection of quotes provided by team members during interviews, as follows:

1. Prepare interview questions ( personal profile, career history, working at Tapaas, etc..) ;
2. Execute and record interviews (the team is globally distributed ) ;
3. Edit recordings, mine for highlights and insights identify recurring themes;
4. Design video mode (narrated, live captioned, with avatars) ;
5. Storyboard and select most appropriate of quotes ;
6. Edit, Iterate, produce the final product.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The goal of this project was to confirm or clarify our culture and then convey it to the market place. We all agree that culture is a critical ingredient to the success of a company. This exercise and the resulting video absolutely clarified key aspects of our culture and our team's cohesiveness. But applying a metric to such a result is quite difficult.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

This was not a cookie cutter project. We started by approaching Neurelle with the idea that team interviews might provide some interesting insights. But, we did not know precisely what insights we'd uncover nor did we know what we would produce with those insights. Neurelle team were flexible, agile and responsive to changing scope as we progressed. Once we had the interviews, we could have stopped there. But, together we decided that producing a video of the highlights would make a very nice, "meet the team" video for our about-us/ page.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I think their engagement and passion for applying their skills to help us achieve our business goals were the most impressive.

Is there any area for improvement or anything that could have been done differently?

I'm a software developer. So, I'm familiar with the steps and intermediate deliverables required to produce software. As I am not very experienced in the process of video content production, from concept creative through story boarding, capturing / recording, editing, etc.. I think if they had some background material or samples of the intermediate deliverables, it would have been helpful. But, generally, we came to agreement on the steps and deliverables of each step pretty easily and we got on with it.

We needed to expand our visibility online, and attract new leads. We were looking for an agency that could set up and manage our SEO, PPC, and social ads.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We contacted a number of selected agencies and sought proposals from each. The deciding factor for Neuralle was their confidence, expertise, and drive to go above-and-beyond. They deeply understood our brand, and simply "got" what we're all about.

Neuralle devised a go-to-market strategy that encompassed three channels: PPC, SEO, and Social ads. This required three-stage of work: Diagnosis, Prescription, and Application.

For SEO: Content strategy and landing page strategy. For PPC: Google ads campaign, Social Ads, Instagram campaign

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We saw a dramatic increase in leads via phone and web enquiry. Measurable outcomes: 20x return on ad spend

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Very effective. They used Monday.com for project management and slack for communication. This made the projects highly transparent, and it was easy to contact the team. I found they were very responsive, and open to communication and collaboration.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

It was nice to find an agency that was suited to challenger brands. They understood our crazy aspirations, and worked incredibly hard to put us on the right track to achieve them.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Honestly, not really. It'd be great if they could offer some additional services in web design.

Introduce your business and what you do there. 

Coin Jar is a cryptocurrency platform that enables the buying, selling, and storage of bitcoins and allows merchants to accept payments with cryptocurrency.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Neuralle?

We wanted to do a marketing campaign featuring people who were doing great things in the cryptocurrency space. We needed to hire a vendor to create videos for us to share on social media and on our website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We provided them with a basic outline including a set of photos, ad copy, and a brand guide and told them to go for it. They produced a few 30-second videos made in a square dimension. We provided them with suggestions and feedback before they came back with the final product.  

What is the team composition? 

I worked directly with Jordan (Managing Director, Neuralle) and Lauren (Creative Director, Neuralle), but I believe there was a larger team involved with our project. 

How did you come to work with Neuralle?

I met Jordan at the end of 2017 through startup circles. 

How much have you invested with them?

I don’t remember the exact cost of the project, but it was under $5,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from September-November 2018.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The Neuralle team was very easy to work with. They were receptive to feedback from our internal designer and made sure to deliver a product that was up to our standards as well as their own.  

How did Neuralle perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated using Slack, email, and sharing on Google Drive. They could have been more organized, but it was clear they knew what they were doing and could deliver on the final product. 

What did you find most impressive about them? 

They were attentive and really cared about the quality of their work. It felt like they were invested in our success. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Project management wasn't ironed out as well as it could be. However, we were one of their first clients so I’m sure it has improved. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

You can start by having them produce one video and see how it goes. It will be clear they know what they’re doing.

I based our decision to hire Neuralle by looking at their website. It was easy to use and looked really good.

Neuralle upgraded our website from an out of date Wordpress site to a new Square Space site. We needed a site that we could make small changes to without having to hire a web designer each time.

We are happy with the results and many of our customers comment on our great website compared to our competitors.

It was difficult for us to find the time to get Neuralle all the information they required for them to complete their work, but they were very patient throughout the process and I really appreciated that.

They're very easy to deal with, and they respond quickly to emails/phone calls.

We are very happy with the end result.

I was first heard about Neuralle through listing to the Uncommon podcast. The Managing Director of Neuralle, Jordan M., is a former colleague.  Over the years, I’ve particularly appreciated Jordans approach to marketing, and his business acumen more generally.

Neuralle has assisted me in various ways. From concept to creation, the team provided sound advice and were able to turn our ideas and concepts into something tangible.

We worked with two directly with two of the Neuralle team, with one other person working in a post-production capacity.

The Neuralle team produced and hosted the Margin Call podcast, which featured in the top 100 in the (chartable.com) investment category in Australia and Asia.

Planning to production went reasonable smooth, with any minor hiccups corrected relatively quick.  

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Neurelle’s a young and dynamic company, with a sound knowledge of marketing principles. They have a foothold in social media mediums and less traditional forms of marketing. 

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Nothing of note.

When we started working with Neuralle, they really helped us lift our game for organic content on our social media accounts - from implementing a content schedule, finding and testing our ideal content mix and monthly reporting.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We are still tracking our progress, but forward planning our content has really encouraged us to focus on developing engaging content. Our engagement rate across all channels was improved remarkably.

We've developed a nice workflow - from planning, copywriting and scheduling. The team is also very responsive and flexible, which is great.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The monthly reports are very insightful and have certainly raised the bar for us going forward.

Rendered out our work to 3 agencies. We choose Neuralle given that we would be working directly with the founders of the business.

Depending on the size of project, the team were able to scale up and down accordingly. Very flexible.
