At the time of our engagement, Neoteric (via Michal) sold us “AI software development and consulting.” We paid over $6000 and got a laughably thin deliverable: about six pages of generic fluff with no real AI substance, no technical depth, and nothing you couldn’t get from a free ChatGPT prompt.

We had it reviewed by real AI researchers and engineers, and they unanimously said it shows no evidence of genuine AI R&D competence or practical experience. I kept the billing evidence and their final delivered work in case of any dispute.

Neoteric marketed this as AI consulting. We paid $6,000+ and received a tiny, low-effort “plan” (~6 pages) that reads like generic sales filler — not expert AI work. There was no credible AI methodology, no rigorous technical reasoning, and no actionable engineering direction. Independent AI researchers/engineers reviewed it and confirmed the output reflects people with little-to-no real AI R&D expertise.

I kept the billing evidence and their final delivered work in case of any dispute.

That level of ownership and curiosity is hard to find.

Overall, the collaboration went really well, but if there’s one thing I’d highlight for improvement, it would be the communication format. The team leaned heavily on online meetings, which of course worked from a logistics standpoint, but I would have preferred more in-person sessions—especially during the early stages of the project when strategic alignment and brainstorming were key.

This project was to develop Decision Trees based on content presented in visual algorithms in our printed publication, to display on our digital publication site. These Trees display the data in a graphically appealing and attractive way, providing an excellent digital experience and engagement for our members and customers.

Key deliverables include packages of each tree in a compiled zip file, from the source HTML5 coding, that could be uploaded to our site by our site vendor. These graphic files were created using a third-party software specializing in flow-chart/data visualization. 59 of these objects were created for our digital launch.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

All 59 objects are being completed on the agreed upon timeline, with fast, agile responses to any changes which happened along the way. Needs were understood and addressed excellently via a prototype product, then transferred to the rest of the objects being created. 

Scope remained within our estimated constraints, while allowing for additional tweaks that stayed more than consistent and in-line with our expressed scope framework. The software works excellently on our site, and truly makes the information look beautiful. The level of execution of these final products is stellar.

Items were delivered on-time or early, in most cases, and communication was always effective and present since day one. The PM on Neoteric's side, Magda, was so good and consistent at providing updates all through the way, and level-setting our expectations along with discussions on our timetables. They were truly a partner for us, and had more things changed with the project along the way, I know they would have been responsive and agile, and figured out solutions with us for the best value. 

They truly feel like an extension of the team rather than merely a vendor - this was true partnership to create an excellent product.

Four very specific visualization widgets for process analysis in the warehousing and logistics space should be developed based on the yFiles framework provided by yWorks, showing the execution of an order on the shop floor and in the time line, enabling process mining and data driven documentation. All widgets should have a modern look and feel and be intuitive in its rich interactions.The widgets should run standalone, but can also be embedded into low-code frameworks.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

All requirements were fulfilled and even exceeded. Even so I had due to earlier prototyping a clear picture in mind, how the result should look like, based on the discussions we have extended the features without increasing the efforts significantly (low hanging fruits). From the first version each function has not only worked, it was always looking nice. Developers with a good taste for design asking the right questions and delivering results. That's how development feels like fun.

The project was set up using Scrum methodology. Unless in other projects, which I have seen, the scrum master was really acting as a coach. The most visible activity was time keeping during the meetings, all the rest was magically floating. As I don't believe in miracles, in reality the given guidance hasn't felt as such.
