BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I have two companies. I’m the CEO of a manufacturer and reseller of elements used for live concerts and events. My other company is a PPE supplier.

What challenges were you trying to address with Misfit Agency?

I’ve worked with them at both companies. However, more recently, they provided top-down services for our live events manufacturing company to go from a startup to a fully functional brand.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They helped with our CRM, SEO, website sales, marketing, and PR. I basically gave them complete reign over the design, build, and implementation process. They set us up with HubSpot and created the branding and logo. Their team built a website for us from scratch using WebFlow. 

What is the team composition?

I primarily worked with Pete (CEO & Founder). However, the larger Misfit team worked with my other staff members. 

How did you come to work with Misfit Agency?

They were a referral from a longtime friend of mine. I talked to several other companies, but I was impressed with Pete’s resume and the references I received about his work. 

How much have you invested in them?

We’ve spent between $10,000–$25,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around January 2018, and our relationship is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They’re able to take my vision, which is limited technically and expand on it. They execute everything I want and put things in place properly and expediently. 

How did Misfit Agency perform from a project management standpoint?

The communication with the Misfit team has been fantastic. They meet deadlines and are transparent about their processes. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Everything they said they could do, they did do. I never had to go outside of Misfit to get anything done. I’ve used them exclusively since we hired them. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers? 

Listen to the advice that Pete has. He’s been a fantastic coach through this entire process.

I’m the CEO of Parrolabs, a nearshore app and web development agency. We primarily provide developers, designers, and social media to North American clients.

Since we’re remote, we were looking for partnerships in the creative industry that can help make the bridge between non-technical people and technical people.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They provided overall creative services for us. Within the several projects we’ve done with them, they’ve provided strategies for our communication with clients.

What is the team composition?

There are three people working with us.

How did you come to work with Misfit Agency?

They were sort of a referral. They have very good creative people who have worked with large customers. They were looking for a nearshore team to partner up with and we were looking for somebody who could do brand strategy and strategy to help us get in the door with some bigger customers.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested $100,000-$150,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in December 2017 and the work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I consider them a trusted partner. They’ve been great in helping us to build out our strategies and processes. We’ve become way more efficient in how we work and how we set up.

How did Misfit Agency perform from a project management standpoint?

We use Jira. In the past, we’ve used Asana and other tools.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re very creative. Their overall management of the project was good. They have expertise in bridging the gap between a nearshore team and a client.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The entire team is more senior than we are. There’s nothing we have for them to improve.
