We are a venture incubator and consulting company. We have a global client list of 50 Fortune 500 companies, and offer a mixture of strategic consulting and development. I am the chairman of the company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Minddeft Technologies?

We were trying to build an industry-leading innovation system on top of a Java Liferay stack. There aren't many programmers smart enough to use Liferay effectively, since it requires an understanding of both the LAMP stack and serious Java programming in general.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Minddeft Technologies has been able to pull off our development challenge. They're one of the top developers in the Liferay arena. We've used Minddeft Technologies on 4 assignments for global clients, including a top-5 financial services company. Minddeft Technologies has been involved in everything from architecture to primary implementation, scrum management, and quality assurance testing.

How did you come to work with Minddeft Technologies?

My theory is that only 5% of programmers are really great. We've gone through lots and lots of programming houses and partners. Minddeft Technologies has been one of the survivors, coming through over and over, successfully completing difficult projects. Some of the technologies that we're building are as advanced as those of United States developers, especially the Blockchain technologies. Minddeft Technologies has an active component of research and development, so they're always ahead of the curve.

How much have you invested with Minddeft Technologies?

The total cost of our engagement with Minddeft Technologies has been above $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

One of our projects has been completed. We are running 2 others which will become live. We have been working with Minddeft Technologies since 2012.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

One of the things which I've appreciated about Minddeft Technologies is that they never tried to expand too fast, because the quality level would be hard to keep up. Minddeft Technologies kept tighter teams in order to get things done more effectively.

Minddeft Technologies has built enterprise technologies which will be scaled to millions of users. They've had a good understanding of the requirements for this, which is rare.

We've never asked Minddeft Technologies to do things which they can't do. For example, we use a collection of developers for machine learning and artificial intelligence, which requires PhD-level skills. Minddeft Technologies is perfect at supporting those other programmers, though.

How did Minddeft Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

We're an Agile scrum group. Minddeft Technologies followed the methods which we prescribed.

What did you find most impressive about Minddeft Technologies?

Their English is good, and whenever there was a junior developer assigned to us with lesser English skills, the senior manager swooped in proactively in order to make sure that everything was understood.

Are there any areas Minddeft Technologies could improve?

The only negative aspect which I could name applies to all developers in India. There are many festivals in that area, so clients need to be aware of the social context and obligations which need to be met by Indian developers.

What tips or recommendations could you share that might increase the likelihood of success with Minddeft Technologies?

It does help that we communicate visually. We draw pictures and wireframes, so the effort is both ways. If a client is good at visual communication, they won't have any problems.

What challenge were you trying to address with Minddeft Technologies?

We needed some development resources for work on the Liferay platform, through which we wanted to create our customer product.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Minddeft Technologies developed our solution using Java, Liferay, MySQL, as well as some web frontend technologies like JavaScript. Minddeft handled some of the database design and solution architecture.

The size of our team varied, including 6 developers from Minddeft at its largest.

How did you come to work with Minddeft Technologies?

I had worked with an outsourcing company that employed Minddeft's founders. I formed a good working relationship with those people, so when they created Minddeft, I started using them.

How much have you invested with Minddeft Technologies?

The total size of our development with Minddeft has been well over $100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We've been working with Minddeft on-and-off for almost 2 years, and my relationship with their principals started almost 3 years back, in 2013, through our initial outsourcing company. Minddeft has gone through some changes, but the main team has remained the same. Our work has been completed. We might use Minddeft for some future projects.

I don't have any specific metrics about their work, but I can say that Minddeft has been very competent overall.

How did Minddeft Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Minddeft performed reasonably well in this regard.

What did you find most impressive about Minddeft Technologies?

Minddeft had very good knowledge of the Liferay platform, which was important for us, as it is the main technology upon which our solution is built.

Are there any areas Minddeft Technologies could improve?

Most companies in India need to work on their English communication. We have some internal members who are not of Indian origin. They had problems understanding the people from Minddeft in the beginning. Most people could deal with this, and caught up pretty soon.
