We needed help creating a Power BI sales enterprise report.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Metis BI's core scope was to design and deliver the enterprise sales Power BI reporting solution end-to-end. They worked with us to confirm what the users needed to see, defined the KPIs, and report structure. Then, they built the underlying data model and measures to ensure everything was consistent and reliable.The main deliverables were to gather reporting requirements, design a wireframe to showcase the report before building it, and then build a complete enterprise sales dashboard (including performance vs. target and vs. prior year) with drill-down views by time, geography, and partner. The dashboard also had additional analysis views such as returns and top performer performance.Moreover, Metis BI provided documentation, including a data dictionary and guidance for our internal team so we could maintain and extend the solution going forward. They also provided the ability to self-serve with the underlying data model so we could build reports in the future.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We now have a single enterprise sales dashboard and a consistent KPI layer within it that leadership and wider users can rely on for performance tracking and reporting. The solution is used to track performance vs. target and vs. prior year and to focus discussions on actions.Moreover, the solution improves speed and self-service as users can pull their own numbers. The team can drill into performance by time, geography, and partner without needing manual analysis, which reduces back-and-forth requests and helps identify the drivers behind gaps such as conversion, lead volume, returns, and salesperson effectiveness.Finally, the project delivered a maintainable foundation. The data model, data dictionary, and internal guidance mean the team can support and extend the reporting going forward into other areas, with a clear path towards broader rollout and future self-service reporting on a trusted dataset.Since the project has recently been completed, we don't have long-term usage metrics captured. However, we can already see clear improvements in a few practical areas. For example, questions that previously required manual analysis or back-and-forth to pull data can now be answered directly in the solution. The core report provides immediate answers to the most common leadership questions, and the underlying semantic model also provides a structured foundation for broader self-service over time, reducing reliance on a central reporting team for every request.Moreover, KPI definitions and calculation logic are now standardized in a single semantic model with supporting documentation, which reduces ambiguity and ensures teams are working from the same numbers when reviewing performance vs. target and vs. prior year. The dashboard has been positioned as the standard view for enterprise sales performance and is already being promoted to support leadership performance reviews and follow-up actions.Early signs of increased efficiency and reduced manual workload are already there. Since the dashboard has just gone live, we haven't formally measured time saved yet, but we can see a reduction in manual effort in a few areas. The main one is fewer ad hoc requests and less back-and-forth to pull and reconcile numbers. Many of the recurring questions that used to require manual extraction and one-off analysis can now be answered directly in the dashboard through the built-in drill-downs and comparison views.Overall, the early impact is that the reporting burden is shifting away from manual data pulls and towards interpreting the results and taking action.
