Production process requires numerous tools and jigs to ensure standardization and quality production. I engaged Meka Innovation Pte Ltd to assist with exactly that - To optimize current processes to implementing them in the production line.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I found them through an exhibition in 2018, and have been engaging them on needs basis ever since. The company is run by truly hardworking entrepreneur and is ready to cater towards any need that my company has. They also provide a transparent and friendly pricing for our projects too.

The work involves optimizing mechanical work through incorporation of electronics. The company also helped us with design and prototyping work and trial of various different methods to achieve the production speed goal. In addition, they also offer moulding services and mass production of injection moulded parts.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

As it is a growing company, only 1-2 people worked with me during the project duration. They are all-rounder and handle pretty much everything from sales to design to prototyping. I find this helpful as I can get the project running without too many involvement of other people.

Generally improved production processes by 20%, and reduced incidences of failure by up to 50%.

Casual communication via calls, whatsapp, and email. Delays in some part of the projects but its expected as they are also managing vendors on their side.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were honest, hardworking, and open to pretty much anything. I love the drive, and I would love to support their entrepreneurial journey.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

One thing that I think they can improve is in the area of speed. However, they are always ready to check and verify with you on the timeline whenever you request.

I am a Senior Scientist in a Singapore Research Institute. Our institute works a lot on biomedical research and noval medical device development. We need to design and prototype mechanical and electrical components for our projects.

For our research device or medical device prototype, we need to design certain mechanical components and electrical components to make the big equipment work better. Meka Innovation helped us with brilliant design and high quality 3D printings. They are also very patient to go through several iterations with us to improve the final solution.

Meka Innovation showed us their fast 3D design capability and high quality printings and machinings. The price they provided is also very attractive. The team are also flexible and come to our lab frequently to work with us together.

For a clinical project, we need a special stage to hold the clinical sample and move the sample into different directions. Meka Innovation also helped to make a special holder for the imaging head to fit into the machine. The quality of these two parts are high. They are still being used in the hospital now.

We worked directly with 1 mechinical designer, 2 electrical engineers.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The clinicians are very happy with the deliverables. The products make the clinical study much easier and save a lot of research time. The products are still being used in the hospital.

Meka Innovation team come to our lab frequenty for discussion and progress report. We communicated by phone App very smoothly.

Their passion is clear. They can provide their unique angle to help to improve the design.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

They may want to expand the engineer team to expand into optical design.
