Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder and CEO of Atlas Navy. We’re a software company but we have our own in-house projects as well. Primarily, though, we provide transportation software to various organizations around the world.

What challenge were you trying to address with MBNTech?

We outsource any work that isn’t within our technical reach. This specific project is a navigation app, and MBNTech is providing some of the technological and architectural work that we’re not skilled in.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They’re primarily working on our backend, but also doing some work on the frontend. On the backend, they’re improving our server architecture and working with blockchain. The project itself is a navigation app that leverages blockchain to help with smart contracts and fees, staking, liquidity, farming, and all of that. The backend is built on Python.

They’re also developing the Android frontend, but they’re primarily working on the blockchain component. The fact that they have resources to work on the iOS and mobile side stands out, though.

They’ve built some web pages that allow us to connect our future users with their blockchain wallets (containing their tokens and cryptocurrency) on our website. This is a core functionality of blockchain projects, where websites have to be able to recognize customers’ wallets. MBNTech quickly and efficiently built the front- and backend of this feature.

What is the team composition?

We’re working with about 5–6 people. There are at least two developers working on the blockchain components. There’s also an Android developer, and he does a bit of iOS work as well. This person is part-time. The server side also has its own developer.

How did you come to work with MBNTech?

Vlad (Founder) was recommended to me by a mutual friend of ours. We had an initial call that went over their capabilities and their past projects. Right from the beginning, they were very proactive.

How much have you invested with them?

The cost so far is around $80,000–$85,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since March 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The beta launch has gone very well so far. They’re professional developers, and the code we’re getting is high-quality. They’re organized, too.

We had some bugs in our Android version, and their developer finished working on them much faster than our internal developers did. Most developers need 1–2 weeks to acclimate the project, but MBNTech got started very quickly. They’re very serious developers. I would hire any of their staff for my own company.

How did MBNTech perform from a project management standpoint?

Slack and Jira suffce for communication. Coming from a software background ourselves, they are very organized. They update us with calls every few days and provide status updates over a number of tools. They’ve hit all our timelines to date — delivering ahead of schedule, even. Any time we want to schedule a call, they’re available, and they’ll get on it instantly if we have a problem.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve never worked with anyone in my 12 years in software development that’s as serious as they are. Rather than going to a company and having them build our idea, MBNTech took ownership of the project and came up with their own ideas, telling us how they worked. They were highly organized.

They understand things, and rather than just being task-driven, they look at the whole big picture and come up with suggestions to make the product better. We’ve developed a very good relationship with them and will work with them for as long as we can.

MBNTech’s biggest strength is the quality of their work, but right after that are their management skills. They’re very organized and don’t waste client hours. This is very rare in software development. Their team sticks to deadlines and delivers good work, which is all that matters. Sometimes you don’t know if there will be issues until you collect hundreds of thousands of users, but we haven’t encountered anything like that so far.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could hire even more developers. If they did that, I would outsource even more work to them than I do now. I have zero complaints.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

The work would have gone even more efficiently if we’d had things more organized on our end. They would ask us what’s next, and we wouldn’t know what to say. My advice to future clients would be to describe as well as possible what MBNTech needs to build. The more detailed a plan you have, the faster they can move.

Our company was doing a NFT launch of our new set of characters. We needed specialist knowledge in blockchain, smart contracts and NFT launches, how to do them at scale and securely. MBNTech were more than capable to achieve these goals!

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

MBNTech were recommended to me. We had a couple of calls a I interviewed the team. It was clear immediately that MBNTech were good engineers and competent at what they did. This is very hard to find in this industry.

We had some initial meetings to describe the scope of the project. MBNTech went to work and delivered very quickly and proficiently. We organised a testing phase where integration between our software and theirs was test. MBNTech were very helpful to iron out any issues on our side that we had. When the project went live, MBNTech were there to support the go live and it was widely acclaimed by our customers as the best experience they've had.

We had two main contacts as MBNTech who we dealt with directly and another indirectly. I'm not sure of their exact titles, but both were extremely technically proficient. One was project managing and working with us to suggest solutions. The other was also help with the solution architecture and developing the project.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our customers of the project had experienced many other similar projects with other companies other than ours. At our launch, the minting process and air drop that MBNTech were responsible for went very smoothly. Our community discord frequently commented on how this was one of the first projects they'd been on where nothing went wrong during the minting process. This was thanks to the hard work of MBNTech.

Our required timelines were extremely tight. MBNTech negotiated with us to tell us what they could achieve with the time we had and set our expectations accordingly. We would have regular meetings at given milestones in the project. We also had progress meetings along the way where we would discuss decisions and features.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I've worked in the software industry for over 20 years and the blockchain industry for the past 7 years. MBNTech is very good at delivering high quality, well designed and tested products. The blockchain software industry are full of 'enthusiasts'. MBNTech are professional and stand out from most of the industry.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not really no. They were professional at all point and dealt with tough timelines and a demanding customer (us) very well.

The e-commerce platform started selling from the first day of launch. The integrations with the billing software and the shipping provider worked flawlessly, providing smooth operations for the logistics department.

We found them after extensive research and also based on the recommendations of others too. The deciding factors were talent, previous experience in the domain we are active in and quality.

We were able to launch our platform for testing in closed beta and everyone is thrilled on the results.

At this point there is no complaint. They work hard and fast to deliver the results.

I'm the CEO of inSHAPE Token UAB. inSHAPE is a move-to-earn app that use blockchain technology to reward users who work out or walk with SHAPE token. SHAPE tokens can be used to buy discounted products/offers from our marketplace or to mint/upgrade NFT that allow a bigger reward for users.

We had a meeting to discuss our goals and objectives. Their developers delivered very fast our frontend app in React Native and the smart contract in Solidity.
