Design the entire UI & UX of our mobile product

What were your goals for this project?

To create a beautiful and innovative product that looks and feels better than anything else in the industry. Specifically, we were looking to bring elements of fin-tech apps into the gambling sector with our app.

How did you select this vendor?

Saw their prior works on Dribbble and had a very good sense of style and design.

We exchanged our initial wireframes for feedback and scope of the project before flying out to spend 2 days with their UX team in Poland. The UX team worked diligently and effectively to plan out the wireframes for our entire app before handing over to the UI team who did a fantastic job of taking our design inspiration and turning it into a reality.

What was the team composition?

2 points of primary contact but great communication with the entire team over Slack primarily.

Our app is now considered the best looking and designed app in the UK gambling industry

Playerhunter is a football app that smart matches players and clubs through proprietary algorithms. As head of product I developed the UX/UI together with Maise and lead the development of the new app.

For what projects/services did your company hire maise?

The main challenge was that Playerhunter aims at two very different user groups: Club officials, Scouts and Coaches vs. Players. Maise did an amazing job in creating a product that fits both groups with a coherent style.

What were your goals for this project?

UX/UI for the Player App. UX/UI for the Club Website and Dashboard.

How did you select this vendor?

We talked to several agencies, however it soon emerged that Maise are the right people for our project as they put in the extra mile in understanding who we, our company, users and product are.

Describe the project in detail.

UX/UI for the Player App. UX/UI for the Club Website and Dashboard. Maise started by proposing several different design and UX routes. We then narrowed it down and some key assets where delivered which then showed us the right direction we wanted to go. From that point onwards we had regular meetings and constant conversation via Slack to coordinate the project. In this way we finished on time with a great UX/UI.

What was the team composition?

We had high level and coordination talks with the manager at Maise Michał and worked closely with two of the great designers there. Michał every once in a while checked in to ask whether the project is on track or whether there are any problems. During the whole time period we felt in good hands.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

People who look at our new App and Website are all mindblown. It is a huge difference to what it was before and fits our target groups perfectly.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Great, weekly update calls and constant updates and discussions on slack.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Maise really put in the effort to understand our company, the product, the market and the users. Therefore they could deliver a product that deals with the peculiarities of Playerhunter. I have worked with many agencies, but this was the best experience in this respect. Needless to say, I was also very impressed by their pixel perfect work.

Really non that I can think of.

I’m the co-founder of a cryptocurrency platform. 

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with maise?

We needed help with the design of a mobile and desktop application and hired maise to assist.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’re doing a cryptocurrency portfolio tracking app which is a lot like an aggregator. From our app, you can read the news, see how much money you have in different accounts, and discover new coins.

It’s mainly targeted for beginners in the cryptocurrency world, giving them a way of managing their money and allowing them to further educate themselves about different cryptocurrencies. The mobile app and website do the same thing in terms of functionality.

maise helped us with all the design work from scratch while we handled all the actual development work. They were very flexible, which is one of the reasons why we chose to work with them. We gave them our idea and they came up with the wireframes, which we went back and forth with till we got the designs right. We liked them from the very beginning, but like any design project, it takes time to get exactly what we want.

After the wireframes were done, maise began creating the designs, which were amazing. While we were handling development, we came up with new features that we asked maise to implement the designs for.

What is the team composition?

We had one main point of contact from maise.

How did you come to work with maise?

I look for the best people for every project that I have. I went to Dribble.com and looked up the best companies for cryptocurrency. I contacted six or seven of them, and based on feedback and other things, I decided to go with maise. I wanted to have a good relationship and the ability to make changes along the way.

How much have you invested in them?

We spent between $5,000–$10,000 on this project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them from March–June 2018. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re still working on the app. It’s basically done and we’re just going through the legal proceedings. We love it and couldn’t be happier with the designs that maise produced. They’re very nice and flexible people, and we would work with them in the future for sure. We’re really happy with how they handled the logistics.

How did maise perform from a project management standpoint?

I’m very glad to have worked with them. I’ve worked with many designers and maise is one of the best ones. Their response speed was super quick and we were in contact four times a week. I was impressed with how fast they worked. We mostly used WhatsApp to communicate as well as email for setting up the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their quality makes them stand out from other agencies.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Not really.

Communicating a lot with the designer is key to a successful project.
