Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the director of practice development for Stepping Stone Dental Partners. We are a private equity and practice transition company. We acquire dental offices from dentists who are ready to retire and then transition the ownership of those back to young dentists.

What challenge were you trying to address with Madison Marketing Group?

All our offices are their own entities, so we were looking for a company who understood our model and could help us with marketing on websites, social media, videos, and more. We were looking for a full-service company.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We meet often by phone or in person, so communication has been really important. They’ve created a special system for us, to keep different projects organized and to know where we are with those, which has been very helpful. They’ve also introduced different services to us, and they do some amazing video work and social media. They do a really nice job of keeping us informed of what we can do, how we can do better, and how they can help us.  

All our dental offices are community-based websites, and that’s how we like the feel of our websites to be. They’ve helped us to incorporate community-focused photography into the community section on the website. They’ve helped us to maximize patient promotions and get those out. They’ve just done a nice job of personalizing, which is what we need to do to stand out.

We’ve worked with the owner, Chris [Murvine, Founder and CEO]. Amy [Parkel, Inbound Marketing Manager] is our main contact on websites and also helps with social media. We have Sam Zastrow [Digital Marketing Manager], who is largely social media, and then Dave [Lightfoot, Creative Video Director]. I know there are a lot of other people behind the scenes helping as well.

How did you come to work with Madison Marketing Group?

Our CEO has worked with Chris in the past and likes his style, so that’s how we chose them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working with them for about two years, and our relationship is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

We do look at website analytics. They’ve helped us to increase our social media activity, but I can’t give you an exact metric. I don’t get patient feedback, that goes to our managers.  

How did Madison Marketing Group perform from a project management standpoint?

That’s been our biggest struggle, but I think they’ve done a nice job of trying to pull things together. Things do get complicated with so many individual businesses in the organization. They’ve done a nice job of creating a system and helping us to organize that system. 

What did you find most impressive about Madison Marketing Group?

They do a nice job of making sure that we are happy with what they’re doing. They’re very good at communicating, and they’re always looking for ways to do things better.

Are there any areas Madison Marketing Group could improve?

They could look for ways to streamline and organize the process better.

I’m the owner of Groutsmith Franchising, Inc. We’re a franchising company which sells tile and grout restoration, repair, cleaning, and sealing franchises nationally.

What challenge were you trying to address with Madison Marketing Group?

We retained Madison to build our websites.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They built two websites for us; our consumer site, which has e-commerce capabilities for the purchasing of maintenance products by consumers, and our franchise site that markets our business to potential franchisees. On both sites, they built in a log-in section for our franchisees so that they could have unique log-in credentials, get into the back pages of the site, and access all the items we provide for them. This includes marketing, data, and advertising pieces. The e-commerce site for our franchisees is where they can purchase our Groutsmith products for their professional use.

Madison Marketing Group did the entire front and backend for both sites. They also maintain the sites for us, do all the updates, and add new franchisees to the site. I work mostly with their inbound marketing manager and CEO. There’s also Sam [Zastrow, Digital Marketing Manager], who does our social networking updates every month. They do a monthly blog for us on our franchise site. They do our social media marketing on Facebook and Twitter, and Sam handles all of it.

How did you come to work with Madison Marketing Group?

I was in need of new websites, so I checked with a few colleagues and their name came up more than once. I spoke to them, along with a couple other folks in the industry. I found that the people at Madison seemed to be more personable and more interested in really developing things for us the way we needed it, so I hired them.

How much have you invested with Madison Marketing Group?

It’s in the neighborhood of $50,000–$60,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together about three or four years ago. I still work with them. They manage our websites, and they still do our social media marketing on a monthly basis.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

I do not measure anything like that, although I can say we get a lot more leads through our website.

How did Madison Marketing Group perform from a project management standpoint?

They do excellent work. I couldn’t ask for a better working partnership than the one I have with them. We correspond mostly through email. Whenever I need anything, I send an email to Madison’s support and they respond immediately. They get working on it and they keep me informed of how things are going. They get work done very quickly.

What did you find most impressive about Madison Marketing Group?

They respond very quickly and they’re very personable. I really appreciate their quick responses, follow-up, and swift conclusion to any problem or request we have.

Are there any areas Madison Marketing Group could improve?

I can’t think of anything. I think they’ve got a great system.
