Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

Velo Algarve is a high-end road bike rental business. We engaged Lynx SEO at launch to build our search presence from zero — across both Google and the AI tools people now use to plan trips. The scope covered:

• Site architecture — Darren and Mike built out our site map from scratch, working out which pages we needed and why, rather than defaulting to a standard template.
• Page copy — they then developed the copy for each page on that map, written to rank and to actually read well for a customer landing on it.
• Content strategy and blog production — ongoing content targeting terms adjacent to what we sell, not just direct rental keywords. The clearest example: Mike suggested we write a blog about golf. It sounded out of the box at the time and it's now one of our best performing posts.
• Technical and on-page SEO — the underlying work to make the site rank, with the emphasis on putting genuine value on the site rather than backend code and keyword density alone.
• Ongoing optimisation and reporting — three-plus months live, with rankings, traffic, enquiries and bookings tracked against expectations.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Just over three months live, the rankings and traffic are well past anything we expected at this stage. Comparing the last 30 days to the 30 before it:

• Organic search sessions up 97.7% — 425 sessions, our largest channel by some distance
• AI Assistant sessions up 180.4% — 143 sessions, meaning ChatGPT, Gemini and similar tools are now actively referencing us to people planning trips 
• Direct sessions up 64.6% — 158 sessions, the brand-awareness knock-on
• Active users up 86.5% to 537, page views up 90.4% to 1.8K
• Average session duration up 27.1% to 3m 25s — above the GA4 peer median for our category 

Taken together, organic search and AI assistants now drive roughly 73% of all our traffic. That's the part I'd point to hardest: for a business three months old with no brand recognition to trade on, almost three quarters of the people arriving on our site found us because Lynx put us where they were looking — including the AI tools most agencies still aren't optimising for.

It's converted, too. Enquiries have been steady since launch, and we've taken more bookings than any new business has a right to in its first few months. Session duration going up while traffic nearly doubled tells us the content is doing its job — people aren't just landing, they're reading.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

We worked out of a shared Slack channel, which suited us — questions got answered in hours rather than sitting in an inbox, and there was no formality tax on getting a quick decision made. Everything was delivered on time.

The site map, the page copy, the content plan — all of it landed when they said it would, and I never had to chase anything. As someone who runs an agency myself, I notice that. What stood out more than the timekeeping was that they were proactive rather than reactive.

They didn't just execute a brief we handed them, they came to us with the thinking. The site map wasn't a template — they worked out which pages we needed and told us why. The content direction was theirs too, and it went well beyond the obvious keywords we'd have written for ourselves.

They also explained the reasoning behind decisions, which matters when you're being asked to trust an approach that sounds counterintuitive at first. We were, more than once, and they were right.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their depth of knowledge is next level. 

I used to run a marketing agency myself, so I've sat opposite a lot of people who can talk a good game about SEO. Darren and Mike are in a different category — they're genuine masters of their industry, and it shows in the first ten minutes of any conversation. 

The clearest example is how far ahead of the curve they are on where search is actually going. Most agencies are still selling backend code and keyword density. Darren and Mike understand that SEO now means putting genuine value on your site and ranking for terms that sit adjacent to what you actually sell — and that you're optimising for the AI tools people use to plan and research, not just for Google.

That's not theory for them, it's how they built our strategy from day one, and our traffic from AI assistants is up over 180% because of it.

They'll also tell you when your instinct is wrong. That takes real confidence in what you know, and in our experience they earned it every time.

Are there any areas for improvement or something LYNX SEO could have done differently?

Nothing I'd change. I've been on the agency side of this relationship for years and I know how rare that is to say — but they did what they said they'd do, on the timeline they said, and the results speak for themselves. I'd refer anyone to them without hesitation.
