PPL CZ, a subsidiary of DEUTSCHE POST is a leading parcel logistics company in the Czech Republic, with over two hundred thousand parcels delivered every day. I was the Chief Informations Officer responsible for digital transformation and IT.

For what projects/services did your company hire Lundegaard, and what were your goals?

We have collaborated on production of a new concept of PPL Digital Strategy and communication roadmap. Furthermore, we have translated said strategy into new Corporate Identity and worked together on implementation of the new website respecting all aspects of this.

Goal was to have a fully functional website including the most crucial part - Track&Trace application - developed and deployed in approximately 3 months. All according to the corporate design, rules, security, and fully built on a new strategic platform - Liferay DXP.

SOLUTION

How did you select Lundegaard and what were the deciding factors?

During our search for reliable portal platforms we noticed Lundegaard as the Gold Liferay partner in CZ/SK. After joining inspiring Liferay conference hosted by Lundegaard in Prague in 2019 and seeing several reference projects we concluded that this could be the company we can trust in our quest for generation upgrade of our digital channels and included Lundegaard into tender for new web sites which Lundegaard won.

The project took off in two parallel streams - development and infrastructure preparation. Lundegaard would help us with proper server setup, sizing and networking.

In parallel, the development works went on with the last tweaks of the scope into a successful, flawless execution of the new Track&Trace.

Last but not least, we have implemented a sizable and resilient performance tuning to the whole solution to withstand the main season traffic on the site that was expected.

Project manager, Java and JavaScript developers, infrastructure specialists, security expert and UX designers.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We hit the timing of the project with only one week delay, which (considering the size of the task) was a true success.

Furthermore, despite deploying the brand new web right when the Christmas season was approaching, we have had zero incidents and have handled the traffic with flying colours.

We have delivered a stable solution, increasing the customer experience and providing a smooth journey for tracking customer parcels.

Assigned Project managers were senior and in touch on a daily basis. We had weekly statuses / steerings and were keeping close tabs on all critical dependencies of the project.

Every issue was escalated properly and the flow of information between all the stakeholders was exquisite.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The versatility of the Lundegaard team members is absolutely rare. The very same goes to dedication and willingness to go the extra mile to ensure the project success.

Staff insights and inputs were always on point and helped us all hit the target.

Fincentrum & Swiss Life is leading financial advisory company in the Czech Republic and Slovakia with more than 2,000 advisors. I was Chief Digital Officer responsible for digital transformation, CRM and IT.

For what projects/services did your company hire Lundegaard?

We decided to create online version of customer financial analysis which is the basic tool for all advisors. Lundegaard was hired to create a prototype of such a tool.

What were your goals for this project?

To have a prototype that will be introduced to selected advisors for feedback and improvements. Ultimate goals of electronic financial analysis were: have digital tool that will increase both quality of financial advisory as well as number of products per customer.

How did you select Lundegaard?

I asked 3 companies that i have had good experience from a past. And asked them to introduce me their approach, experience/references and price. Lundegaard scored the best.

Describe the project in detail.

We started with finding advisory representatives on various levels: junior advisor, senior advisor, manager and regional director. Discovery workshops were organized then. Main goal was to analyze current advisory process. Wireframes were created and verified with advisors. Clickable prototype was created then. Advisors optimised it.

What was the team composition?

Project manager was assigned and worked as a SPOC.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

To create the prototype saved as a lot of time (6-9 months) and costs (around €50,000). We had really detailed discussions with our advisors how exactly it should work and processes should be designed. Befor coding of the main tool started.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Assigned Project manager was senior consultant and was able to work independently. We had weekly reviews and also were present at majority of meetings with advisors. All major outcomes were consulted with me.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We needed a new website and customer portal, in addition we moving to a new back office solution. We required a high quality delivery within a fixed timescale.

Replacement public facing website, a quote and switch customer journey and a customer portal enabling submission of meter readings and also customer queries. The technologies used were JS/react and a headless CMS.

we had a clear view of our requirement, the project delivery was above our expectations

We were kept fully informed via daily standups, weekly reports tracking resource spend against plan and steering groups reviews.

It was an awesome experience working with Lundegaard, they delivered on time and above our expectations.

Discuss the working assumptions in more detail early in the project lifecycle as this would have prevented rework later on.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Feasibility study was delivered with an expected quality and content including time frame for implementation and expected costs and clear recommendation for a platform. FS is a key input for SGEF internal business case.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Workshops well organized, visualization via Miro tool. Time management OK Content and focus maintained. Real output + summary.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They were experts, provided high orientation in quality and delivery was in line with a client expectation. Proactivity, proposal of various solution incl. pros / cons assesment. Perfect communication. Budget maintained.
