We needed a partner to create a marketing video for our website to show viewers our business services.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We set up a day with Lorray Digital Video, and Ray, Lorray Digital Video's owner, traveled with us. We used different cameras, including drones. The team brought all their video equipment, and we spent several hours filming different scenes for our company's video. We brought together the people we wanted to have in the video.

Lorray Digital Video had an instinct for where to shoot and how to film. The team took a lot of footage and did multiple shots. Everything they seemed to bring together was organic and unfolding. Lorray Digital Video had complete control of everything, and every project came out beautifully.

Lorray Digital Video handled everything, including video editing and audio mixing. They sent us a rough draft and asked us how we liked it and what changes we wanted. The team worked with us to edit it to look better.

They made at least three marketing videos for us. The videos were between 3 and 4 minutes long, and one of the videos was about 10 to 12 minutes long. We hope to have Lorray Digital Video do another video this year.

We're pleasantly surprised by what Lorray Digital Video has charged us. The price is very fair. For the smaller project, we paid between $600 and $800. Other people could have charged us $2,000 to $3,000 for the same work.

Everybody said the videos were excellent when we shared them with customers, friends, or family. We got a lot of compliments on the work Lorray Digital Video did. The videos are on our website and Vimeo. We did some other things to promote it on social media.

Since the team created the videos, we've branded our company well. Many people called us because they were interested in doing business with us. They were impressed with what they saw from the video, which helped us sell.

Lorray Digital Video was very trustworthy. The team was consistently honest and transparent with us. If there were other projects we wanted to do, we felt very comfortable calling Lorray Digital Video. They were constantly there to help, even after we paid them and were finished.

Lorray Digital Video could film in the afternoon, drive two hours, and have something to meet first thing the next morning. Lorray Digital Video's turnaround time was excellent; we didn't have to wait longer than the team promised. They got the rough draft back very quickly.

Ray gave me his cell phone from day one. He quickly contacted me to see if we had called or texted. We mainly communicated through email and phone calls, and used ClipStock to manage our social media clips.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Lorray Digital Video was fair, talented, and caring, and Ray was transparent, open, and honest with his thoughts. He asked what we were looking for. Lorray Digital Video was a team of fantastic videographers and an excellent film company.

Ray was ten times the man I am. He was a very good, down-to-earth man who was faithful to the company and ensured you had the best project. He didn't take advantage of anyone; it wasn't his personality.

Are there any areas they could improve?

If there's anything to improve, I wish there were ten Rays out there so they could be all over the place simultaneously. Ray was so professional and had such a good heart, which showed in his work. I hold him to a standard that I can't imagine anybody could outperform him.

The easier you make it for them, the less expensive and better quality they will do because sometimes having to change things constantly makes it more expensive. We've been able to work pretty well together over the years because I give them a lot of detail. There's not a lot of room for mistakes, which makes everything slow.

Ray is always early and stays late. He works hard, and the footage is always delivered to me kindly. We've hitched rides with him back from locations. He's been great. We communicate through phone calls, texts, and Zoom. When we have a shoot, we always have a thorough production schedule that we send to him, and we follow that accordingly.

Ray and Lorray Digital Video are self-starters. He built this business out of a hobby. Their team was doing some spots with the priests at his church. Lorray Digital Video has done much of this independently, but they embrace new tools, and Ray is an easy guy to work with.

Lorray Digital Video has a small unit, and through no fault of their own, we had them on a shoot that was too big for their crew to handle.

I take more responsibility for that because they're equipped to execute other projects we have. This one had a car moving around, and we were outdoors. Because they're a small unit, they didn't have a robust lighting package. However, knowing Ray and Lorray Digital Video, they'll adopt those things and be ready for the next time.

Go for it. Ray is on time and a professional. Lorray Digital Video comes prepared, but you must walk through all the pre-production beforehand. If you're buttoned up on what you're trying to do, that only helps everybody.

Lorray Digital Video does all the filming, communicates with the client, and edits the footage. We provide some intro clips that need to be included, and there's text on the screen.
