The scope of work with LockStock Cybersecurity and Analytics covers every major area of how we handle client data and communications. They began with a discovery and assessment of our current practices, which were mostly ad hoc, to identify risks in areas like video call recordings, email exchanges, file storage, and access permissions. From there, they developed a structured program that is ongoing and evolving with our business. The work includes setting up secure identity and access management controls such as multi-factor authentication and role-based access, ensuring that all client communications are encrypted and stored securely, and creating clear policies for data retention, acceptable use, and confidentiality. They advised us on evaluating and configuring third-party tools we rely on, including our video call and email platforms, to make sure we are not just inheriting vendor compliance claims but actually operating in a compliant and secure manner ourselves. They also built out training and awareness sessions for staff and clients so everyone understands how to handle client information responsibly, and they continue to monitor our posture through regular reviews and updates. The engagement is designed to scale with us as we grow into larger enterprise client relationships, so the scope is both comprehensive today and forward-looking for tomorrow. Beyond strengthening our internal practices, LockStock also provided vCISO-level advisory to several of our clients. This allowed us to extend cybersecurity best practices into their environments, which not only helped them directly but also strengthened our relationships and reputation as a coaching firm that actively protects client interests.

We can point to clear results. Internally, we moved from ad hoc practices to enforced MFA, role-based access, documented policies, and secure storage of video call and email data. Externally, LockStock provided vCISO support to our clients, which strengthened trust, improved assurance, and helped us win enterprise business.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What impressed us most was their ability to combine deep technical knowledge with practical business sense. They gave us solutions that fit how we actually operate and scaled them to meet both our firm’s needs and those of our clients. That balance of vCISO expertise and business alignment was unlike anything we had seen from other providers.

Are there any areas for improvement or something LockStock Cybersecurity and Analytics could have done differently?

The only area for improvement is that their expertise sometimes moves faster than our internal ability to implement. While this is more about our capacity than their delivery, a phased roadmap with clearer prioritization could have helped us pace adoption more smoothly. Overall, their approach and responsiveness left little we would have changed.

We’ve been able to answer questions about our compliance with very large organizations. The quality of their work has exceeded our expectations.
