What challenge were you trying to address with LMAS?

We brought on LMAS to help us with production planning.

What was the scope of their involvement?

LMAS helped us expand our business in a difficult environment. They helped us plan and schedule production and capacity planning. Their team was focused on improving our efficiency. 

At the start of the project, their teammate conducted an operational analysis, looking at our business and identifying where their expertise would make the most impact. Then, LMAS provided feedback and spreadsheets to improve our processes and helped us access government funding.

How did you come to work with LMAS?

I connected with the teammate from LMAS in another role, and that’s how I found LMAS.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested around £25,000 (approximately $29,000 USD). 

What is the status of this engagement?

This project was from May 2020–October 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

LMAS helped us access government funding that allowed us to launch a new product on the market. They also helped us understand ways we could adapt our manufacturing processes to ensure we delivered on time. 

We plan to reach out to them again if we need more work done. 

How did LMAS perform from a project management standpoint?

We primarily communicated through email, but we did have in-person meetings. LMAS stayed on budget and delivered on time. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I don’t know if anything stands out. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’m nothing if not satisfied with LMAS.

Hire them!

I’m the managing director of an innovative manufacturing company. We focus on apparel and other automotive textiles.

What challenge were you trying to address with LMAS?

We needed support and consultation services. We were in a position where we had to stabilize the company and develop a growth strategy.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, LMAS came in and helped us look at the company's current status to see how we might pivot going forward. They got involved and provided some support. During COVID-19, I developed a system for personal protective equipment (PPE) and mask manufacturing. LMAS helped us obtain funding and introduced us to some organizations.

Moreover, they ensured the manufacturing business wasn’t lost in the UK. We put together a pilot process for community mask manufacturing within a small area. They defined the project, and we delivered it in 2020.

Since then, they’ve looked at our organization and devised a survival plan. LMAS has helped us pivot into three new areas. One of them is the automotive space, and with their support, we’ve entered an entirely new market.

I work with Don (Senior Manufacturing Mentor), the owner.

How did you come to work with LMAS?

They were a referral. I was introduced to LMAS by an old friend who was in charge of organizing PPE in the north of England.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about £100,000 (approximately $115,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them around April 2020, and the partnership is still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Through LMAS’ efforts, we’ve worked with some top brands, including Levi Strauss, Dockers, BMW, and AMG Mercedes, providing them with a special adhesive coating. Additionally, we did the same thing for a men’s underwear brand that’s part of the group that owns Calvin Klein. We did a sample test of 50,000 units for them, which went amazingly well. Currently, we’ve done over 10 million units.

Thanks to their suggestion, we’ve also gotten involved in an MBA-type program with a local university. The project is called Help to Grow.

How did LMAS perform from a project management standpoint?

They respond well to our needs. They see the capability of our company, and the team is passionate and committed. They’re great shoulders to lean on.

For communication, we do several virtual meetings, but we also have phone calls and in-person meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their ethos is outstanding. LMAS is passionate about what they do; they feel like a partner, not an external provider.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there are no areas to improve. I'm satisfied.

Any advice for potential customers?

Just go ahead and have a conversation with the owner.

We wanted some business insight and guidance.

What was the scope of their involvement?

LMAS has provided marketing consulting services. We’ve engaged with them face-to-face and on-screen to discuss our business and its structure, and they’ve come up with many strategies. We initially had to fill in a form. LMAS saw our growth potential and areas of opportunity; we had little knowledge about websites and how to approach them in a structured way.

What is the team composition?

We only work with Don (Senior Manufacturing Mentor).

How did you come to work with LMAS?

We found them through the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB).

How much have you invested with them?

We haven’t spent any money; we received $5,000 for funding from a business school.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in March 2022, and our relationship is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The engagement has been very helpful, and their work has been phenomenal. 

How did LMAS perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re responsive. We mainly communicate through Microsoft Teams.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their team members are excellent people.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there aren’t any areas to improve from our standpoint.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I’d recommend working with them; it’s a good path to go down.

I am a business development executive working towards growing BCA group. They make Wiring harness and other products, mainly at the leisure industry.

LMAS were used in a mentoring capacity for the company due to his his expertise in manufacturing

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We were put with LMAS while doing work with Huddersfield University based on industry and expertise

Describe the scope of their work in detail.

After beginning with a series of discovery meetings we found several key areas to grow and focus on. we worked on these to varying levels through from planning to actioning. The focuses were on several different areas of the business e.g. work flow, New business, Customer focused branding

What was the team composition?

I have worked closely with LMAs and from there I have worked closely with other employees in the company relaying information.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The outcomes of the project are we have put a library of guides and manuals online, found new companies to deal and work with and implemented new workflow techniques in a new factory

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We usually had weekly meeting in which LMAS would come to our premises working around us in time and place. They also followed it up with emails and information sent.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was impressed by how easy it was to work with LMAS, as well as their expertise. They were particularly experienced in the manufacturing sector.
