We contracted big baby films to help with a viral marketing campaign around some new product launches. Our goal was to drive traffic and conversions through Amazon and our own website. We were also happy to see they offered video production services which was a major help in helping to show the functionality and generate excitement around our products.

We found Big Baby Films through a personal recommendation. After interviewing them, it became clear that the team was very driven and dedicated to helping us improve awareness of our products and brand. I liked the fact that the agency had some sharp younger minds that would help us get more in tune with a younger demographic of consumers, who are the future of our company.

This also felt like a perfect fit for social media/viral marketing. We were also very impressive with their portfolio of work in the UX and video production space.

Big Baby Films brought a professional approach with proposals and SOW before initiating each project. They had an idea generation phase and ultimately we were consulted on these ideas, providing our feedback and approval. It was nice to have a collaborative process but also know that the agency was still able to work independently and move the needle without us having to weigh in on every single piece.

We worked with a primary account manager. IT was a more streamlined simple process to have a single point of communication with a team behind him in the background helping to make it all happen.

They have so many capabilities and such a unique creative mindset. I feel like it is rare to see an agency that is so good at design/video production but is also strong in idea generation.

What challenge were you trying to address with Luv Productions?

We were trying to communicate what we do as a company through videography. We’ve also met many of our new clients during the COVID-19 pandemic, so we wanted to give them a tour of our building without having in-person meetings.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Luv productions have been doing video production for us, including a welcome video, a 10th-anniversary clip where people can see our facilities, and a video to show our new products that we’re launching next year. We started with meetings to plan the production, which has ended up being content creation on the spot and organic and unscripted work — just them and their video camera equipment.

Once they finished capturing the material, they immediately started working on the editing to finish the job.

We’ve been working on several projects, and we’ll continue to use them in the foreseeable future.

I found them through online advertising. We decided to work with them because we had a great initial Zoom meeting and had a positive attitude, so I wanted to give them a shot to see what they’re capable of doing.

We started working with them in February 2021, and the engagement is ongoing — I’m considering using them for bigger projects now.

They’ve been working hard, focused, and engaged from the beginning. They’re also prompt and follow through in a timely way. In terms of the work they’ve done for us, customer retention is vital for us, and many clients have reached out to us because they saw the videos online — we’ve gotten excellent feedback from our clientele, and they even congratulate us.

Numbers-wise, we have over 62,000 people reached, which led to around 1,000 clicks to our website — the content they create for us is the first one that has had 100% positive feedback. Also, our Shopify reports say that our sales have gone up by 95%, and the engagement rate is 67% —that’s above the industry average.

How did Luv Productions perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re great; they take criticism constructively and positively and have a great attitude. They’re also easy to work with and do whatever it takes to make us happy with the project’s outcome, which distinguishes them from other providers — I actually proactively gave them a monetary bonus on the last project because I appreciated their work on that.

In terms of communication, they provide constant updates on the project to ensure that everything’s running smoothly.

What did you find most impressive about them? 

They’re more concerned about getting us as much money as they can, rather than their own nickel and dime — they’re committed to our satisfaction, and working with them is a unique experience.

I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on — they’ve quickly resolved every issue that has been presented with a positive attitude.

We started with an initial zoom call, and we gave them our budget. They came back to us with an itemized bid. After, we met in New York City with their crew to discuss the shoot. After that meeting, we decided to go with Big Baby. Their preparation was very impressive. During the day of the shoot, it went flawlessly.

The point of contacts were Nick and Brennan. The feedback process was we received. We had open floor conversations from the start to the end. They're open-minded, but also have very creative ideas of their own.

We selected Big Baby because they offered to film our event for free if we paid for travel accommodations. They were a new company at the time, and they were very motivated to show us what they could do. They executed well and we used them a couple more times.

Live event video production is straight forward. We wanted our videos edited like a music video and they executed extremely well.

The outcome was a success. We received great feedback from the video, and people said they were engaged with the video from start to finish. On Youtube, 95% of viewers finished the video which is way above industry standards.

Project management is definitely one of their strongest attributes. When you work with an outside vendor, you want them to be responsive and communicative. They are solid in both aspects.

Their ability to deliver us exactly what we wanted was impressive. They are a very laidback team, but they executed extremely well. They were able to deliver the final video within two weeks.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I wish we could've met them in person, but they're based in NYC and I believe Miami as well. If they were based in Toronto, we would use them a lot more.

I'm the co-founder and designer of Triangl (www.triangl.com). We're one of the largest direct-to-consumer bikini brands. During my time here, I deal with product design, marketing, and I take part in decision making.

We've worked closely with Big Baby since 2016/2017. We were looking for a partner to run our Shopify Store. We decided to take a chance on Nick (President of Big Baby). He was a young and hungry teenager at the time, and we took a liken to his energy. Under Nick's management of Triangl's eCommerce store, online sales have grown to 8 figures in revenue. Big Baby has ran our entire digital marketing team for five years.

From my understanding, Big Baby doesn't advertise their marketing services, but will take on a new client on a case to case basis. This service runs up to USD 10,000 - USD 15,000 per month that doesn't include a promotional budget (ads). Big Baby has grown into a full video production agency, and we've used them for product videos, and photography. Their work is always high quality.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We're based in Australia, and we were looking for a US based company to partner with. Big Baby reached out and offered to give us a one month free trial with them. After they executed within that month, we decided to go with them and hire them on retainer.

We were one of Big Baby's first clients. Within the past couple years they turned into a full service video production agency. However, we first partnered with them as a digital marketing agency. It made great sense for them to create content for us since they were already managing our digital presence. We've had several content shoots with them in Miami. They're fast, diligent, and creative. Their editing style is what separates them from other video production companies.

We've worked with Nick, John, Matt and Erick. The feedback process is always easy with them. They take criticism well, and they easily find a solution.

We had a great zoom call with the president Nick, and then we met in person. Big Baby doesn't try to oversell their services. They come in, say what they can do, and they're very transparent throughout the process. They communicate very effectively.

After our initial Zoom call, they sent us a proposal within 24hrs. After the proposal was sent. we agreed to meet in person (NYC). After that meeting, we agreed to terms. They worked on a treatment and production schedule. They came in to shoot the videos and the turn around time was two weeks (post production).

The feedback process was very easy and simple. They're open to additional edits and revisions. However, they do such a great job on their initial version there's not too much to revise. They even hopped on a Zoom call with their team to have a revision review, and they edited everything on that call in real time.

Almost all of our clients engaged with the videos and told us how much they loved them. Our engagement on Facebook increased by 87%.

They communicate usually within an hour. A lot of our work with them are high budgeted productions. We appreciate how quickly they respond because that eases the pressure and stress of working with an external team. They also are very transparent throughout the process and want my company to feel at ease. They use email and phone to communicate with me. But they asked me how I would prefer communication.

They're a young and agile team. As an entrepreneur, I respect their industrious work ethic. I emailed them at 2am in the morning, and they responded back with a detailed response. I love their editing style and versatility — they can make a boring concept into a highly engaging video.
