Leadhook was tasked with creating new registration and abandoned cart email sequences for one of our courses. They delivered expertly crafted email templates with wonderful copy designed to convert, and convert it did. Within two months we had achieved our lowest cart abandonment rate in company history

Deliveries were made on time, and we felt that our needs were heard and implemented. Outside of the usual back and fourth in this era of digital collaboration, our needs were met in a professional and timely manner.

I do feel that there are more optimal platforms for client feedback. I found the layout board we were utilizing to be less effective and comprehensive compared to others I have used.

We tried using Mailchimp as an email marketing service and worked with some freelancers, but we didn’t have the best experience and felt like we had some opportunity and revenue left on the table. We hired Leadhook Media for marketing.

To start, Leadhook Media sent us a questionnaire about our audience, customer base, and what we were targeting. They also asked us to send content and photographs. 

Leadhook Media transitioned us from Mailchimp to Klaviyo, and we have been working with them on email marketing, popup banners, and other features on our website. They’ve set up our flows in Klaviyo, and they send us 7–8 emails every month; we approve everything before we send it out.

We started working with them in September 2022, and the engagement is ongoing.

We’ve seen a 50%–55% increase in revenue and have had steady growth throughout, so we will use them in the future. The emails we now send to our customers look very professional, and Leadhook Media makes sure that the emails don’t end up in promotional mailboxes.

They’ve provided us with great project management, and everything is planned out in advance. They stay on schedule and within budget. We communicate via Slack, email, and biweekly Zoom meetings.

Second, they developed an email gathering process to increase the number of customers we were able to put through the email flows. Then they helped us evaluate the effectiveness of our website so we could retain more of the traffic we were earning. And finally, they took over the management of our email campaigns. All of this was done through Klayvio.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Over about 2 months, our website email signups went from .4% to 4.4%, which led to a huge increase in customers moving through our email flows. Our email click-through rates have doubled, and our revenue per recipient is up 400%. We have hired several different firms in various areas of our digital marketing and Leadhook is by far performing the best.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Leadhook have been excellent communicators throughout this process. Despite being in very different time zones they have made it easy to reach them through tools like slack and regular video calls to touch base on projects and goals.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We engaged Leadhook for a very specific project and they took it upon themselves to understand how that project fit into our broader marketing ecosystem so they could make recommendations for improvements. They've helped us improve our overall digital marketing effort, not just the area they were hired for.

Some of their copywriting could be a little tighter at times but we have never had an issue that 1 round of revisions couldn't fix.

After a kick-off meeting, they gave me some recommendations with which flow we should start and where the best option is for the brand. We started with that, and we added step by step the different flows and we also started sending weekly emails as well to understand to which type of mail my audience is reacting most.

After working with Shawn and the team, we were delighted at how fast they understood our market and have successfully grown our email channel from 7% in total email revenue to 23% This is only so far. On top of that, we're now capturing up to 8% of total visitors on our store as well which is helping us retarget these customers for free; saving more money for paid ads. Really happy with their partnership and looking forward to seeing how else we'll grow with their help.

Scope of work started with an audit of our current email workflows and audiences. LeadHook assessed where the opportunity was, and came with a strategy for how to maximize the value of our email campaigns. They drafted new campaigns and communicated status along the way. They were quick to turn around any feedback based on our reviews and approval. They implemented the campaigns based on the priority of each, and reported metrics to measure success along the way.

Three that I know of. Shawn managed the entire effort. Kelvin drafted campaigns. And one other resource was a technical analyst to help with implementation.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They first came up with the email marketing strategy itself. This involved structuring our email flows with the copy and different engagement mechanisms — for instance, when a user lands on the website, there's a pop-up offering a discount in exchange for their email address. If they enter the email address, the system then puts them into a series of emails trying to convert them to make a purchase. I also gave them suggestions regarding the structure, which they took and turned into a proposal. After finalizing the strategy, they began implementing it.

I work with at least three people from their side, including Shawn (Managing Director) who was my main point of contact.

Although we were uncertain if it was realistic, we had a goal to hire an email marketer that would help us capture 30% of our revenue per month with strategic email campaigns. We hired Leadhook Media and was able to surpass this goal by our second month as they were successful in helping us capture 35%.

On our 3rd month working with Leadhook Media, we realized that their email campaigns was the only aspect that made us profitable for that month. Our business was thrown a curveball completely unrelated to them and we if we had not been working with Leadhook Media that month we would have lost money. Very grateful for them carrying us through a tough time!

The team was highly professional and effective. We were able to work with the lead project manager who ensured the rest of the team were on the same page.

Very refreshing to work with an effectively communicating team where everyone has success of the project in their heart and zero drama. The team leader obviously had the experience to identify and capture opportunities and was able to proactively guide us to take advantage of those opportunities.

We really felt like our success was his success and that he always had ideas to stimulate our growth. We are grateful for his tips not only for this project, but also the tips that helped our business as a whole. It was really awesome having a skilled business partner who brought value to the bottom line.

Honestly, this company did their part and more. I only find that I wish everyone was as easy to work with. It’s usually hard to communicate with other companies, but that hasn’t been the case with Leadhook Media — their communication skills are the best.

We have worked with this vendor in the past for another small business of ours. We have always been very satisfied with the professionalism, and high-level of work they provide. We have worked with numerous copywriters over the years and we are always happiest with the results from this vendor.

Lead hook media always does a great job at onboarding your business. They will ask questions about what makes you unique, your demographic, competitor analysis, and for examples of content that you like.

We worked with Shawn directly and he was fantastic.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have not yet launched this campaign so we can not share any current outcomes. However, in previous projects Lead Hook's copy lowered our CPC by significant amounts! Just to give you an idea, our previous copy would average $1.40 CPC, and Shawn helped bring it down below $1.00 !

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Fantastic. The team will provide updates, and a very organized google folder with your deliverables. From there you can make comments for edits very easily.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They really understand marketing. Their team understand the key points of effective copywriting.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

This is hard to say. I feel like this group really does a good job at writing copy from a scientific perspective.
