I’m the Founder / CEO of Carry, a marketplace startup that enables rising pro athletes to access the funding they need to train and compete the right way by connecting them with fans who wish to invest in athletes’ careers in exchange for unique access and potential returns.

Layo has lended their expertise to a number of design projects for us, including portions of the UX/UI for our website and a forthcoming desktop and mobile application.

How did you select this vendor?

I was referred by another sports tech / fintech startup founder in the US who also had an overwhelmingly positive experience working with Layo.

UX/UI design. Layo has been a key part of the entire process, from initial consultation to mock-ups to iterative versions of the final product. We were in consistent dialogue with the team at Layo. They were incredibly responsive throughout the project.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

My team worked with the project manager, business development head, and designers (as needed).

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We’re very pleased with the output and delivery from Layo! They are a pleasure to work with and we can’t recommend their services and team enough.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Highly. Communication is everything and the project manager went out of her way to make sure her team understood the requirements and kept us update on designer recommendations and delivery.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Professionalism, design quality, and commitment to see the project through — particularly during a very difficult time and while facing challenges well beyond their control.

I am the CEO of a supply chain consulting company that focuses on the aerospace industry

For what projects/services did your company hire LAYO?

We needed designs for our new website, as well as a web application that we needed to build. Layo did all of the design work for this.

How did you select this vendor?

I searched pretty extensively for a designer that had a portfolio we were impressed by. All of layo's work is incredible, so we moved forward with them.

Their team met with us to understand design elements we were looking for. They asked all the right questions, found comps, then put together a few preliminary options for direction. We selected one of those options, then they built out the rest of the site.

We had a great single point of contact, Maria. Super responsive and always helpful.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We're very happy with the design work completed. We went on to raise $6M for our startup, and I am confident our branding/design had a big play in that. We also receive many compliments on the site and app design from customers.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Our point of contact was extremely responsive and pleasant to work with. Truly no complaints.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their design talent and ability to do this work so fast were impressive.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

It would be great if, someday, Layo could also develop their designs. Not a huge deal since they provide all files necessary to get a developer going, but would be nice to just work with one company for design + dev.
