Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the superintendent of University Academy, a K-12 charter public school in Kansas City, Missouri. We're focused on college preparation, career development, and leadership. We serve over 1,000 students and are recognized nationally for academic excellence.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with KC Video Club?

We wanted to showcase our school, students, and past accomplishments for the new staff starting in 2026. Our prior videos were so well done that we wanted to continue that quality.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

KC Video Club handled all aspects of the video production. We wanted a two-minute video that showcased me, the superintendent, the four principals, wins from the past school year, footage of students, our building, our goals, etc. We wanted to wow new staff and get them excited to work at University Academy and celebrate with returning staff. The team sent us questions prior to our interviews. We also had two or three edits where they gladly accepted our suggested changes and made them.

What is the team composition?

We worked with 2–5 teammates from KC Video Club.

How did you come to work with KC Video Club?

They were referred to me. We chose them because their pricing fit our budget, they had a great culture fit, and their company values aligned with ours.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from June 2026 to August 2026.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The purpose of the video was to inspire staff as we kicked off the new school year. We also shared the video with our board and parents. We plan to continue to use the video for possible student and staff recruitment in the future. All feedback has been positive.

How did KC Video Club perform from a project management standpoint?

They were professional, prepared, and provided an excellent quality product in the desired timeframe. We communicated via virtual meetings, emails, and messaging apps.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I loved that I could ramble about an idea or thought, and they made it come to life and sound/look polished and amazing.
