Through the process, ensure customers kept access to online ordering, and only received enhancements to functionalities while the process took place. We did not have the benefit of a sandbox environment, but Jobin and Jismi was able to manage the process and make valuable suggestions through the process. They were on a budget and time constraints, and successfully delivered.

The ability for our company to conduct business in a multi-subsidiary setup in our ERP. The ability to speed up transaction creation in the system to match the movements of goods happening in reality. Being able to perform month end closing within a week in a new month.

Project management could have been better. We attempted to hire a project manager from their side, but with limited success due to the lack of follow up. We were looking for someone to take ownership of a Support ticket backlog, but we never really got what we needed from them on that front and so over time we took back the management and recruited in-house. Overall, I would say that their strength lies more in the ability to customise NetSuite to our needs than in Project management

What was the scope of their involvement?

Jobin And Jismi provides us with NetSuite development. They’ve worked on various functions, features, enhancements, and customizations for our platform. Those have included sorting out cheaper sales orders and building functionality for automating consolidation and fulfillment of our orders. We operate seven warehouses, all connected to NetSuite, and the team has implemented error-handling scripts to ensure that no errors from NetSuite go through to our warehouses. They’ve set up error notification scripts connected to the servers we use.

They’ve also implemented auto invoicing in several of our territories. Jobin and Jismi have automated consolidation and fulfillment scripting for our transfer orders, which went live this month in some of our territories. They have also done scripting to handle discounts and sales orders. Additionally, they’ve set up an electronic data interchange (EDI) in one of our warehouses.

This month, they’re troubleshooting our transfer sales and transfer orders encoding issues, such as fulfillment sequencing. All of their work has been offsite. I’m in discussions with them about future work to continue using them for development and enhancements. We’re also interested in them doing an audit of our NetSuite deployment.

Jobin and Jismi have automated a fundamental part of our workflow. Before working with them, consolidation and fulfillment were manual processes; now, it’s automated.

They’re great at project management, meeting deadlines, and staying on budget. They use Jira for project management, while we use Basecamp in-house. All of our communication is through Skype. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Jobin and Jismi has the ability to turn on resources very quickly when we need them. They’re reasonably priced compared to other vendors elsewhere in the world. While they may take a little longer on some things than other NetSuite partners, they have the skill set we need and provide good value for money.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could deepen their skills in some of the NetSuite modules that we’re using so they’re able to deliver the enhancements that we want more quickly.

I would advise having a focused team on your side, so you have a single communication channel with Jobin and Jismi.

I’m the VP of business operations in a generic pharmaceutical distribution startup in the US. We buy products from pharmaceutical manufacturers and sell them to dispensing pharmacies.

A company we purchased had an existing technology that we needed to replace. We were facing data discrepancy issues with an e-commerce platform that had WooCommerce integrations. We connected with Jobin And Jismi to explore WooCommerce solutions.

What was the scope of their involvement?

While trying to fix WooCommerce, Jobin And Jismi pointed out that our NetSuite subscription actually had an e-commerce solution that we were not aware of, so they helped us customize that to meet the particular requirements of our industry. 

They then worked with us to create a web service that could sell our products on various industry platforms. These platforms allow pharmacies to join and place orders across multiple wholesalers and distributors without having to visit individual websites.

I connected them with the platform provider so they could take requirements directly, assimilate them into action items, and prepare a briefing document for my approval. They created test environments so that we could be considered low-maintenance by the standards of the platform provider, which was a big deal.

Beyond technical expertise, Jobin And Jismi is also providing us with guidance in functional accounting. We’re actively working on a project for rebate management which enables us to compete a lot more aggressively in the industry; they’re helping us create accruals and reconcile all of our financial data.

What is the team composition?

I’ve worked with Feena (Project Manager) constantly. She has a couple of people working on my account, including Aleena (Software Engineer), Hormese (Senior Functional Consultant), and 4–5 others.

I have experience outsourcing services so I did some research. Being a startup, the cost was a major factor and I was looking to get a qualified resource for less. Working with Jobin And Jismi would cost only one-fifth of another company’s price, and they were also a NetSuite authorized provider which gave me confidence that they had the skill. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent $7,000 for the web service and a similar amount for the NetSuite solutions. Adding up all of what we’ve spent with them, we're around the $20,000 range.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in March 2020 when they swapped out our WooCommerce for the NetSuite solutions. They created the web service for the platform between July–September 2020. Now, we’re working on the rebate management project.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

As a startup, we judged their success by how low-maintenance the solutions were and not based on our sales improvements. The WooCommerce data-syncing was a problem that dominated my team’s attention and was costing us time and money. However, we got that time back when we transitioned to NetSuite solutions. It’s stable and maintenance-free, and we are now able to focus on other projects and priorities.

The web service they created was a more elegant way of sharing data between systems especially compared to sharing in batches through Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), which is what is typically done in our industry. We have opened up a whole new sales channel that their team and ours can execute and maintain. I also don’t have to add any headcount to my team which is important for profitability.

Instead of syncing data in batches, the web service allows all data requirements to be met in real-time. Inventory checks for product quantity, specific lot, and expiration level are now possible. Returning a purchase order acknowledgment, a shipping notice, and an invoice to the customer has also been made easier through enhanced catalog files.

How did Jobin And Jismi IT Services LLP perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management is why I keep going back to them. They have excellent communication, good response time, and very detailed documentation. Work is laid out well when getting confirmation and the status reporting is clear and consistent. There is also a clear segregation of roles — evidence of a mature software development lifecycle. 

We communicate through email and Microsoft Teams but only when necessary since the emailed report provides me with everything I need. I don’t need to have them work long hours or be on-call, but they have still accommodated working late to attend our video conferences. There haven’t been any time zone-related challenges when communicating.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re a very professional, conscientious group and are highly committed to their work. There’s nothing lost in written communication, which is critical when working around the major time difference between here and India. 

They were able to do everything in an extremely short timeline, doing it in about one-third of how long it would’ve taken me. A lot of us consider it one of the best decisions of 2020 to use their recommendation as opposed to putting energy and money into fixing WooCommerce. 

In addition, after communicating a lot with the company and employees, I feel that they’ve created a very positive work environment. They even sent out a personalized holiday message. They conduct new projects to challenge themselves and try different ways of doing things. 

Happy employees do good work and that’s what makes them successful. They represent the company really well. They’ve been so positive and I’m happy with the service they’ve provided. I don’t really have an IT staff and I treat Jobin And Jismi almost as if they were employees of my own because I trust their expertise explicitly.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Right now, I don’t have any suggestions for how they could improve. I’ve been working for more than 30 years and they’re the most-well-run organization I’ve bumped into.

I recommend anybody take a look at their LinkedIn company page. Try them on a small, low-risk project to experience what they’re able to provide and then grow the scope and scale. Monitor the quality and as long as you’re happy, continue to build bigger projects.

Jobin and Jismi IT built the MVP. The work was done using Oracle NetSuite.

The two main goals of the software are: allowing fundholders to login to a web portal, see their fund, access historical transactions, and perform live transactions; and to have a monthly statement automatically delivered to fundholders.

The team built a series of customized scripts that automatically made journal entries every time a transaction was done, including contributions made, transfers, grants, and foreign exchanges.
